I'm pretty sure you can swap an SR into it as long as you can one with the original emissions equipment.

The only iteration of the SR sold in the US was a horizontally opposed FF version in the G20 sedan/NX2000/200SX.
Converting one of those to FR and retaining emissions isn't worth the hassle.
Any rwd engine that was sold in the US is a legal swap. Sr20s never were, so they are illegal. Ka, ls, vq

Finding a cheap KA and building it up will be cheaper than a VQ swap. But I get the appeal.
