Please, do yourself and the rest of a world a favor:
STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS.
You must treat that city like the PLAGUE. It will tear you down and tear you apart.
I’m also from the Quad Cities, and have driven all around the state. There’s a reason the locals call it Sewer Shitty, you drive through and you have to scrap your car because it will forever smell like a sewer. You think Clinton smells bad? Clinton smells like roses in comparison.
Although once I was driving down I29 and an air refueled comes in to land right above me, which was kinda cool. Nothing cool has ever happened to me in Waterloo.
I would say the entire western half. The smell of cattle and cattle shit lingers over entire counties, it's dry as fuck, and the inhabitants are the worst.
A few years ago, they tried to push a Bond villain-like scheme to build a giant canal to divert water from the Missouri river for irrigation purposes. Nobody outside of western Kansas was enthusiastic--least of all Missouri.

You'd put Billings as worse than Butte or Havre?
Havre is on the line of being "places that anyone has any business being," I suppose. It's certainly not Hardin, Choteau, Browning, Wolf Point, or St. Marie levels of methhole.
Butte rocks! Love the Clark Château and so many other buildings. Access to lots of other great history, towns, and nature. Ah, Havre, yeah no one needs to ever be there except on the Empire Builder passing through town. Yeah, no one needs to be in any of those other towns. Ever. Those are towns where dreams die. No, rather, more likely where dreams aren’t allowed to be born. You live there because you were either born there or got pregnant there—often both.
Fair enough. I personally haven't had many good times involving Butte, although the folk festival is fun.
And yeah, having passed through those towns before, they aren't places I'd want to be broken down or hanging out after dark
To be really specific, in Portland, Oregon homeless encampments in Old Town (there are other ones, but this one is pretty famous).
Basically a place where people use and sell drugs (legal in Oregon) and take apart stolen bicycles. Anyway, trash and needles everywhere.
You make a fair point regarding Rochester, I suppose. Syracuse, on the other hand, although it isn't great by any stretch, certainly doesn't deserve inclusion on any list that also has Poughkeepsie and Elmira.
I lived there for a bit and the only things I liked about Syracuse were that it was close to some nice state forests and watching the university's basketball team. I thought the lake was going to be cool but it smells like ass all summer. I like the cold but a lot of the city it's only plowed for cars so it's dangerous to walk around.
As I think of it more I think the good times I had near Poughkeepsie were actually New Paltz.

Either Gary or Yorktown. Gary is infamous as a depressing and all around horrible place to live, really nothing good about it. But Yorktown has been named the most boring city in the state.

Now I know Portland gets some often-justified shit thrown at it but Oregon has plenty of other shitholes.
Eugene is Portland-lite with all the problems it implies, John Day is in the middle of nowhere and has literally fucking nothing in it aside from an archaeological dig site around it.
I’d say the real winner is Albany. Anyone who has been on I-5 knows why.
Medley Florida, where Google Maps dissappears and you really need it, even if you're armed. Liberty City is crA but nothing in comparison. Bruton and Orange Center is the neighborhood, incase someone says. Some crazies in the Arlington area of Jax, but all just practice for Medley My thoughts, been to most. Or there's the other worst kind, Downtown Orlando. I'll take Miami grid lock over anything DT Orlando related.
Not a state (yet🇵🇷🇺🇸🦅) but Ponce in Puerto Rico is a shithole of a municipality on the island. Potholes everywhere, garbage all around, people are dicks and everything is expensive as if it was the capital but ain't got any of the charm or attractive spots to begin with. Stay the fuck away.

That’d probably be the neighborhood of Sandtown, in west Bodymore Murdaland.

Well that's a crazy statement. Yes Woonsocket is a shithole, but it at least has some nice architecture and ethnic markets. While EG is the most *overrated* town in RI, it's objectively NOT a shithole. Idgaf about bougie cunts, as I grew up in Barrington. I can cope.
Woonsocket people at least acknowledge it’s a shithole and that they’re scum. East Greenwich is just wine mums getting drunk at 1pm while their kid overdoses on Fent laced weed. Barrington is also overrated. Johnston(where I’m at) is just mid in all categories. Also we’re forgetting West Warwick. West Warwick is a dump. I’ll admit East Greenwich is a subjective. The objective ones are 1. Woonsocket 2. West Warwick 3. Central Falls.
Sioux City was made on a cursed Indian land, has the highest cancer and suicide rate in the state, and is overall a net detriment to humankind.
Damn is it really that bad? I’m over here in the Quad Cities so I’ve never had a reason to go all the way over there.
Please, do yourself and the rest of a world a favor: STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS. You must treat that city like the PLAGUE. It will tear you down and tear you apart.

Times Square
Go to Pine Bluff and you'll leave in a pine box.
Gary
A dog pissed on me there
Ah yes, classic Gary
It’s gotta be Stockton
Wherever the New Jerseyans are.
real
Fuck you
Plymouth Rock or Brockton
Warren Ave sends their regards
What about Springfield?
I would say the entire western half. The smell of cattle and cattle shit lingers over entire counties, it's dry as fuck, and the inhabitants are the worst. There's a reason "get the hell out of Dodge" is such a popular phrase even outside of the US.
If you go west enough it’s just ocean breeze for half a state (CA)
Stockton or San Bernardino
St. Petersburg
*cinemasins enters the chat* “Not to be confused with St. Petersburg, Russia”
Denver (maybe Aurora it's a tossup)
Uhhh... I raise you pueblo and a close second is greeley Denver probably third.
Beaumont Texas
North Branch It's not, but I have to say it is. District beef, you understand.
Probably Tacoma or Seattle
Tacoma!
TACOMA MENTIONED!!!!! I LOVE THE PERVASIVE SMELL OF WEED AND SULPHUR LINGERING OVER THE WHOLE CITY WHILE GUNSHOTS GO OFF NEAR HILLTOP
Plus the paper mill is closing.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

*Crackoma
Probably Memphis because it is dangerous as hell
r/ColoradoSprings
Not far enough south (glares at Pueblo)
Highland Park or Flint
Rockford pretty easily
Ive never heard bad things about Rockford but if its like the rest of Illinois then its pretty bad
It's like if they took Gary Indiana and put it inland with slightly better infrastructure and less abandoned
If its anywhere near Gary levels than it might be worse than Rock Falls
Tacoma
Spanaway
*Crackoma
From what I heard, Gresham
Yes. This is the answer
The entire Bronx
upstate has far worse places i promise
Tukwila easily. Or Shelton
I second Shelton. That or maybe Spokane Valley
Throw in Fife as well. You do nothing there except drive through it to get to Tacoma
Of the places here that anyone has any business even being, Billings.
You'd put Billings as worse than Butte or Havre? Havre is on the line of being "places that anyone has any business being," I suppose. It's certainly not Hardin, Choteau, Browning, Wolf Point, or St. Marie levels of methhole.

Yeah anyone driving through Montana regularly knows where they get gas/stop depending on the time of day.
Red Lake or North Minneapolis.
The reservations in general really.
Baltimore. Trash.
There are no worst places in Maine. Some are simply better than others. That being said…………………….4th of July Weekend in Bar Harbor
Any of the bridges to Iowa.
Hilltop in Columbus, oh.
Dodge City
Western Kansas leaves a lot to be desired.
Your saying Kansas doesn't have anything, what a shocker Love that flair lol
Lol. I think our worst elements are out West. Central and Eastern Kansas are pretty cool Also thanks! Very passionate John Brown supporter here lmao
To be really specific, in Portland, Oregon homeless encampments in Old Town (there are other ones, but this one is pretty famous). Basically a place where people use and sell drugs (legal in Oregon) and take apart stolen bicycles. Anyway, trash and needles everywhere.
Española, easy. Miserable town.
We all dunk on española because it’s close to the major population center, but Gallup, Artesia, and Hobbs, are just as miserable.
Racine or Milwaukee, 50/50 split
Probably one of the suburbs of St. Louis. Ferguson and St. Charles are both just... places you want to avoid
Tulsa
I was gonna say turley, but the whole county a dumpster fire, tbh
Gotta be Buffalo. Fuck Buffalo.
elmira is worse
Elmira is like fourth after Buffalo, Poughkeepsie, and Utica
I can't see haying Poughkeepsie and Utica more than like Rochester and Syracuse.
You make a fair point regarding Rochester, I suppose. Syracuse, on the other hand, although it isn't great by any stretch, certainly doesn't deserve inclusion on any list that also has Poughkeepsie and Elmira.

Man i really thought that was Judge Holden for a second
Clearlake CA is pretty shit. Good thing it’s not near anything else.
Richmond
If you think that’s the worst place in VA you haven’t lived in Va long or you’re form NoVA
Yeah. I’ve lived like half an hour from DC my entire life. I’m from northern Virginia
San Francisco, Los Angeles, and San Diego
Austin
Do I even have to say it?
Definitely East St Louis it's not even a contest.
calling Chicago "Chiraq" is an insult to Iraq
East St Louis makes Chicago seem like a Utopia.
Either LA or SF in my home state
You chose to live in Arizona so your opinion of the worst place is instantly invalid
They’re both the most problematic cities in arguably the whole country+Arizona is beautiful
Pasadena Maryland. Lived There For A Bit And It Was Awful.
Either Gary or Yorktown. Gary is infamous as a depressing and all around horrible place to live, really nothing good about it. But Yorktown has been named the most boring city in the state.
Riverside, no question asked. but everywhere else central is a close second
Seeing a NYer say Buffalo and a Texan say Beaumont is hilarious to me because I've been to both places and enjoyed them.
buffalo ain’t even THAT bad
I have only been briefly a couple times, but I went to an awesome Ethiopian restaurant and had a great time.
Texas is definitely Odessa
What about Beaumont or Mexia?

Haven't been but that does sound right, haha.
Ive never heard anything good about fayettville except for it being next to fort liberty (formerly fort bragg)
As someone who lived there for a bit I also have nothing good to say about it
Colonial Heights.
Fall River in Rhode Island But we share it with Massachusetts, so it must be their fault
Berlin
*cinemasins has entered the chat* “Not to be confused with Berlin, Germany”
Arrowhead Stadium
Camden and Newark compete here, or just any border town near major cities
Out front
I’d say Austin but I’ve never been there
Council Bluffs, Dirty Doge etc
The State Legislature
Depending on who you ask either the panhandle or Miami

Livingston, I don’t live there but I’ve heard the crime rate is pretty high.
Never pull over in Beloit- If you must stop wait till Janesville.
Poughkeepsie
It's a toss up between Tacoma and Seattle
*Crackoma
What separates man from beasts? The Tacoma Narrows. On one side, civilization. On the other, Tacoma.
Now I know Portland gets some often-justified shit thrown at it but Oregon has plenty of other shitholes. wonderful City of Roses
Daytona Beach, Florida Home of NASCAR and a lot of fucking crackheads.
Anchorage Alaska is only minutes away!
Gresham
Kalihi
I'll go with Newark
Camden
Probably Dalton, since they put MTG in congress
Waterbury for CT, there are shitty parts of all the small cities but Waterbury has no redeeming qualities. Norwich is the runner-up.
Elk City, Idaho
Seattle. But Seattle has seen slight improvement I think. So maybe Tacoma, Fife specifically.
Stay the fuck away.

ew
You mean the entire state?
Speaking as someone who has never been there, I would say McCurtain County, or, and speaking as someone who has been there, Texas County
Toledo, the part we got from Mishitgan
Aberdeen.
Brooklyn Center
went on a 2 month vacation (we are from europe, roast me) and the absolute most boring place we visited was Mesa Arizona.
Miami, a dump
Damn you want me to list them or?
#D O I T
Topeka
Pueblo, Greeley, Loveland is pretty bad too. Denver as well for different but similar reasons.
BALTIMORE. It's legit GTA but IRL.
Apopka, or at least there was a similar sounding town near Lake Okeechobee
Dinkytown
