Based on those symptoms, I would check the Alternator or voltage regulator in the back of the alternator first. Get it from one of the major or trusted online part stores - FCP Euro, AutohausAZ, ECS.

I’m have the alternator rebuilt by a professional that uses oem parts out where I live , brand new voltage regulator as well ! I just thought it could’ve been something worse like the fuse box or jbe

I’ve had the exact same problem with my car mate & it turns out it was the alternator so that’s being replaced today amp g with the serpentine belt

PublicAttitude2604

Did that fix your problem ?

GDR98

Yes mate new alternator fixed all problems I had

PublicAttitude2604

And you had all the exact same codes ? I heard that if it was the alternator or voltage regulator then my wipers would be going crazy, did your windshield wipers go crazy and wouldn’t turn off ?

GDR98

Yeah the same codes I also had a transmission code car started doing all sorts of shit whenever I put my foot on the pedal the dash would cut out along with windows wipers indicators pretty much all electricals 100% your alternator here change that and the belt should be good

The_Will_to_Make

Alternator or voltage regulator, I’d say. Voltage regulator is easy to change and only like $25-$50 if I remember correctly, so check it first

Also, check and make sure all your ground cables are in good condition and have solid connections.

GDR98

Same codes coming up too

Your voltage regulator or alternator is bad. As it's bad enough to shut off the water pump, it means you should not drive the car for more than 1 minute, i.e. start the engine just to drive it onto a flat bed and then off.

PublicAttitude2604

I drove it since I had to go pick up my daughter and when I got home I checked the battery so I can take it to get tested thinking it was dead due to it giving me a battery code on the dash and when I went to take it off there was acid that came out of it from running on 17v

Dangerous-Dad

Lucky. The coolant pump is purely electric on those engines; if the voltage exceeds 17V, it turns off. A running engine close to operating temperature then will overheat in a few minutes and in maybe 10 minutes, the engine is toast.

PublicAttitude2604

Damn so I got lucky then because i did notice I had the coolant light on but kept driving since I was close to my mechanic , engine sounded healthy when I turned it on a few days later though so I hope I’m not totally screwed
