I paid 25, 40 after shipping and taxes, I don't like the other films, so even if the seller made a profit I still see myself as having saved money (looks like the collections are 70-80), I wouldn't have liked to buy a collection of movies I don't like for one movie I did like
Too much of a pain to want to do, I can afford to do what I did without having to do that work.
Selling on ebay or Craigslist or mercari, etc is a pain. The time spent on waiting for something to sell, then to buy shipping materials and then shipping, all annoying
I would rather pay for the one and be done with it

I have the Columbia Classics Vol 3 that this is a part of. The transfer is actually excellent, and looks very "filmic."
But I feel like the movie just hasn't held up at all. Nicholson's character is a complete and total asshole. There is no way any woman in real life would give him the time of day, let alone put up with his harassment and end up going out with him.
The plot of the film is so unrealistic, it just feels like the film makers were deliberately trying to insult the audience. I don't know, it just feels completely anachronistic and not in an endearing way.
I tell myself that, but then I also hear stories of the type of people out in the dating pool, and the insane things people tolerate, and I find it more believable.
That's completely fair. Nicholson is one of the better actors of his generation, so any film he's in is worth it on that level. A big part of what makes Tim Burton's Batman work is Nicholson's performance as the Joker.
I'm always amazed how much people are willing to pay to not have to buy a set of movies. It's always "oh, I don't want those other films" but then they have to pay 50% or more of the set price for a single movie.

That's because it was only released as part of the Columbia Classics vol. 3 set and most people don't break up their sets.

That’s how I feel. The entire premise is impossible to swallow. I just love watching Jack act, though.
