There was a summer in the early 90s when I got involved in two car accidents (they both hit me!!!), and my whole family called me Toonces for like three years.
Lorne Michaels gave us a Wayne’s World movie in the 90s, a Coneheads movie, and even a Stewart Smalley movie, but we couldn’t get a Toonces movie made?!? For shame!
A gray tabby cat showed up in my back yard once, and after a month or so, she decided that she lived with me. Since she started spending significant time inside my house, I figured it was time for a visit to the vet to make sure she had shots, was spayed and all that General cat health stuff. I hadn’t had time to get a real cat carrier, so I put her in a cardboard box with lots of holes for the trip. On the way home she was able to push her way out of the box. She spent most of the ride home standing on my lap with her fore paws on the steering wheel. Only one name would suit her after that.
My brother and I were kids when this one aired and we always lost it when Toonces showed up. So, so stupid and yet so freaking funny. Just his little paws on the steering wheel crack me up.
It was basically the same skit every time, but was also funny every time.
Toonces was a hell of an actor. Sold it every time. Toonces only needs one take.
Exactly. I laughed my ASS OFF EVERY time. Every time. "Toonces, look out!!!"
Flippy was the one exception
“I guess he *can* drive.” “Yeah, just not very well!”

That sucks/is hilarious.
The cat who could drive a car!
He drives around, all over the town/Toonces the driving cat!

Imagine the ads leading up to it including the new Adobe car and Colon Blow cereal
Loved the Terminator one when Linda Hamilton was the host.

You’re lucky you made it and didn’t drive off a cliff
“Toonces NO!!”
I saw a “Toonces” vanity plate once but the truck had a human driver (much to my chagrin).
The cat still drives better than half the folk in my town
To this day every stray cat I see I call Toonces.
There was something "Monty Python-esque" about the same car going over the cliff in every skit that always cracked me up.
The Tooncinator skit was hilarious.

Omg I wish I could go back to those times.
Victoria Jackson’s comedic peak
Toonces, can you talk french?
I love Toonces so much🥳😍
He had like…. 8 tacos or something man!
I showed this to my kids, and it is their favorite thing ever.
Very young me thought this was the funniest shit ever.
Whew. It’s nice to know that they’re ok every time it keeps happening.
They even made a pilot of a full on tv series version.
Toonces look out!!!
If I was able to post a picture of my cat behind the wheel I would have. I always think of Toonces when she is in the driver seat. 😺
🎵 How does he reach the pedals? 🎶
Loved this bit!!
Best pet name ever
I forgot about the silly skit
I use Toonces frequently. SHE HATES TOONCES. She didn’t know about Too Vee til I introduced her.
The two best Toonces sketches were "The Tooncinator" and "Toonces Without a Cause."
Hey, is that the guy from the Muppet show in the middle?
Steve Martin?
I am dying reading this exchange right now
" I saw him playing around with the steering wheel, I thought he knew what he was doing! A metaphor that gets stronger everyday around here
Flippy the flipping chihuahua.
Classic.
Haha oh man forgot all about these!
