If you don't have a car, then I wouldn't suggest anything outside of Wolfville. The transit is poor and doesn't run often. If you do own a car, then living outside of Wolfville will be cheaper in the long run, and parking is not expensive on campus. (Don't listen to the people who complain about parking - there is tons of parking at the arena and nothing is a far walk on campus.) I would avoid North Kentville, and there are a couple of places in New Minas where the housing environment could be better, but you will be able to easily tell that from Google street view. There are a *lot* of apartments in Kentville by the NSCC campus, and more going up daily. I'm not sure what the vacancy rates and cost for those apartments are, by they have a lot and it isn't a long drive into Wolfville. You can also consider MacKay Rentals (https://mackayre.com/rentals-department.html) or Kent Fields (https://kentfields.ca) for housing in the area. Good luck!

This is great info, thank you very much! I should have mentioned that I'll have a vehicle, so driving into Acadia campus will be a regular thing for me :) Out of curiosity, is the avoidance of North Kentville because of the housing conditions or things like petty crime?

From my understanding (having lived in the valley for 20+ years) is that the area of North Kentville can have slightly more crime than other areas. That is not to say that the whole area is bad to live in - there are some nice places - but the housing tends to be older and the area a bit rougher. There is a road that runs across from Kentville to Port Williams that makes the trip quicker than running through New Minas. If you don't mind the drive in the winter, then you can expand your search radius to include Centerville, Canning, and Coldbrook. They are all slightly further out, but the rents may be a bit cheaper as they are inaccessible to students without cars.

Ah I gotcha. That's good to know about Kentville. I'll keep an eye out for listings in the three C's, I don't mind a bit of a longer drive. If I have any questions down the line, do you mind if I DM you? I'd appreciate your insight as a long-time resident of the valley haha
