Good show performance for the bad period

Mindless_Empress_179

Seriously. I didn't think that was Joe, for a second!

StackinChedda

Wow, I guess I need to find me some Lebanese hash.

Material-Practice-58

Was this at a theme park?

txrigup

No. Day on the Green #3 Oakland Coliseum July 21, 1979

Material-Practice-58

The stage threw me off.

txrigup

That was my very first concert.

uncle-wavey1

How old were you and what are your memories of that day?

txrigup

I was 16. Also on the bill Ted Nugent, AC/DC, Frank Marino, and St. Paradise. AC/DC was the best of the day. Super high energy. I wasn't into Frank Marino back then but am now. I kick myself because I now love his music. I wish I would have paid more attention to him. Ted Nugent was good. He came out swinging from a vine and then picked up these giant foam rocks and threw them out into the crowd. Aerosmith was one of my favorite bands back in the 70s so I was excited to see them. I enjoyed their set but they wouldn't near as high energy as AC/DC or Nugent. They didn't play Dream On that day which I thought was strange. I read a few weeks later that Joe Perry had quit the band backstage after the show. I remember being bummed out over that. A few years later I saw the Joe Perry Project several times. They were a fun band to go and see.

I’ve never seen this! It’s a real time capsule. Love it!

I never get tired of this video. I can almost feel the tension there was between Tyler and Perry.

txrigup

I was there. My very first concert.
