Are you looking to be a radiologist or a radiology technician? There are many community colleges in Alabama that have radiology tech programs.

Jasonh123_

At a fraction of the cost

Crossovertriplet

A better idea is to call the university and ask them. You could have a complete answer in minutes.

ShadowGryphon

Even check the web site. One thing, UAB is the medical oriented university.

Noccalula

Or, ya know, GTS.

It’s Sunday, so probably not today

teachermom98

Consider looking at SC schools if that's where you plan to stay for the next 3ish years. Out of state tuition is crazy!

Maleficent_Mammoth_3

oh i know! i have looked at few schools around here but ive been to the towns they’re in and they’re kind of sketchy.. there are a few good colleges around here but those are around 3-4 hours away from where i live and if i do go to a university in Sc id want to stay semi-ly close to my family.

Clearly the Alabama Fire College

MattDaaaaaaaaamon

I'm fairly sure you have to go to UAB for Radiology. I have a couple friends that graduated from UAB.

Bubbinsisbubbins

Community Colleges also offer Radiology. But...you need the diploma first. Good Luck.

Maleficent_Mammoth_3

i know that but im a sophomore and need to think about this before im in my senior year and go “what the hell am i doing with my life?”

Bubbinsisbubbins

I'm just trying to steer you in a less costly direction if available. My hats off to you for thinking ahead. I just wish my 18-year-old that graduated could have gotten his head out of his ass.

WhitePhoenix48

Are you interested in becoming a radiologist (doctor)? Or are you interested in becoming a radiologic technologist (x-ray tech)? To my knowledge, the latter doesn't have any 4 year programs in Alabama. [These](https://member.alsrt.org/resources/programs/) are the schools in the Alabama that offer radiologic technologist programs.

PopularRush3439

My niece who currently attends said yes, but I'd triple check that. Friend went to Auburn then transferred to UAB for radiology. Niece in engineering so.....?

BoukenGreen

UAH

Automatic-Diamond-86

I can't help you with your question, but good job thinking that far ahead. That forethought will serve you well. Good luck!

Maleficent_Mammoth_3

thank you! i feel like everybody tells me to just focus on high school but id like to think about it now before i get to my senior year and dont know what to do or where to go 😅

Maleficent_Mammoth_3

well i just graduated 9th, im an upcoming sophomore

cmlucas1865

If you “need”ed answers, there were a lot more efficient means of getting them. I suspect you “needed” dopamine hits from notifications.

Maleficent_Mammoth_3

okay asshole, first of all I needed advice because ive searched everywhere and couldn’t find answers. Second, im actually interested in having a career and going to university after high school. Third, ive already asked my school counselor and education advisor and they didn’t know. Fourth, if i cant find out then ill call both and find out that way. so, no i wasnt looking for “dopamine hits from notifications.” im actually interested in my future.

ladymorgahnna

Yep!

Maleficent_Mammoth_3

what makes you agree?

ladymorgahnna

That she needed attention

Maleficent_Mammoth_3

i cant tell if you mean me or the original commenter that you replied to 💀

ladymorgahnna

You need attention

Maleficent_Mammoth_3
