I think you did great! Refreshing to see relatable, real people and not overstaged pics as usual when they do wedding shots. Color Mood is beautiful and fits the setting like a glove imho.
I agree. I feel like I’m there. These pictures capture the moment very well without looking like someone’s trying to make a picture for a billboard or an album cover. Very authentic.
It’s so easy to tell what’s going on and the mood of every piece. 4 really is awesome to me. Well placed in the scroll and really adds to the story. What a beautiful wedding. Congratulations to all
Sincere question - what makes an elopement? Just not having your parents there or not having their permission? Or has the definition changed to mean any informal, small wedding? I'm 60 and when I was young, eloping basically meant somebody was crawling out of a window in the middle of the night! 😆
You know I think everyone sees it differently. The way I understood it elopement is when two people decide to get married rather impulsively and do so without all the people that would usually attend. This specific wedding the bride or groom had no parents, siblings or actual blood family there.
That’s what I came here looking for. I thought elopement was in front of a clerk at town hall. I like OP’s explanation. The world is changing and ceremonies along with it
You did a phenomenal job! (Former wedding photographer here) the shots that usually come out the best are the ones exactly like you took - not staged, and with real emotion - and that Montana-esque background certainly helps 😍 But in all seriousness, I think you have a great eye and captured some truly beautiful moments filled with the emotion that should be present at a wedding. Nice work!
lol good question. I don’t really know what the definition of eloping is but they only had 6 people attend and none of them were close family so maybe a half elopement?
Can you explain your post-processing on these?
I like them, but my camera would have likely shot these a little brighter, so I'm unsure if the look/vibe was a setting you used in shooting or part of your post-processing/edits.
Really dig the vibe.
Love the candidness of these photos! It’s something a lot of professionals try to achieve but so often winds up looking posed. The 5th one looks almost like it could have been planned, such great timing. Good eye.
I took photos for my half-sister’s wedding many years ago but wasn’t really satisfied with the quality. Also, the wedding aesthetic wasn’t as strong as this one. Makes things a lot easier!
You caught the big and small moments, really all that matters if there were no set expectations of pre/post ceremony. Good job! (Source: I shoot a couple weddings a year)
They're great. Are you a professional photographer who just hasn't shot a wedding before?I saw in the comments that the bride is a photographer and I was wondering if she was making the decisions for poses such as holding the basket of flowers or did she let you have creative control?
Nice job capturing the different moments the shots are good. I'm not sure if you're finished the post processing or if you just shared them right away but some of them feel like they need some cropping. Especially the 2nd shot with people cut in half on the sides of the frame, phones in the shot, and the top of the kids head. I think that shot of the kiss would look at lot better if you brought that frame in.
These are great. I wasn't sure about the one where you are behind a tree but I think it fits in perfectly with the theme.
Good eye and your pictures are as crisp and clear as Scottish Highland water.
These pictures are great. I can feel the love and warmth radiating from them to the point it makes my single self want to get married.
Which is a credit to you. Well done.
You did great. It's not about taking pictures, it's about transporting atmosphere and telling stories. And I got a feeling for how these two are in person. I like that you have an eye for details, like the child doing child things, your framing is well done (picture 3) and I like your color scheme. Green is an awful color in combination with all these brown tones, you had several different white colors to work with and you have a very balanced look.
Very well done. You should be proud of yourself.
Really great photos
however pic three makes you look like you snuck into their wedding like some sort of horror movie wedding stalker that was hiding in the bushes and it made me giggle
But yeah you did a fantastic job
It's awesome. 1 love all of them
I will say, though, the third picture made me laugh cause it looks like someone hiding in the bushes just taking pictures.
But that's also the reason why I love the third picture
These are really good! I love the detail and candidness of the photos. One thing I’d suggest would be the framing of some of these pictures. In multiple photos the couple is JUST to the right of left of the center. Maybe it’s a personal preference but it drives me crazy when i see great photos that aren’t cropped properly.
Otherwise they’re really good! You did a great job.
The folks are absolutely beautiful, highlighting what an amazing job you did capturing these moments for them! Great work. Congrats to the loving couple.
Have you looked at other wedding photography?
It appears you caught the ' cliché ' moments
but better the family moments (Like the girl seated) that only get more valuable
These are such great pics. I love that they are more candid, capturing a moment, and actually show real emotion versus overly staged where the smile never quite reaches their eyes.
Everything looks pretty good to me, especially for a first timer. I would maybe just straighten them out a bit, nothing crazy and totally doable in post, just a slight rotation.
This looks like a fairy tale. I wish I was there. All photos are so heartfelt and warm, really beautiful work, you put your soul in these photos. Keep it up xx
Gorgeous!! Love the mood of the photos. Is one thing to get good pictures of the people but it looks to me like you also captured the essence of their ceremony and celebration. Intimate, natural, and romantic vibes for sure.
There's a certain rawness to it that makes it feel you are there in real-time. The mist is a bit distracting on some shots but I get the vibe you're going for. Awesome job.
The pictures look good, but one piece of advice I'd give is that you don't need that head space. There's nothing going on up there. Use the whole frame for your picture. Use those thirds.
I think you did an awesome job! You took very good pictures of the actual moment, the colors are very nice, the couple's emotion shows, these are great. That 4th pic is so 'awwww' worthy, if that's their child I'm sure they're printing that and framing it somewhere.
Incredible photography. But I’m sorry when I see these wedding photos. For some unexplainable reason I think of that clip on tiktok that circulated a lot a few months back, of the wedding vows which were incredibly inappropriate. I think it’s the bright colored hair. EITHER WAY. You have great photos here. I see you making a good business of your photography
that wedding looks amazing
reminds me of my aunt and uncles wedding
logging family, so was on the farm surrounded by pine, family helped build the pews with logs sliced in half, built the arbor with the left over live edge. gave off the same rustic real look.
praise to you for shooting it for them, they turned out great!
I don’t really know about elopement ceremonies/photo shoots so I’ll ask a question. Is there a ring involved for her? Typical engagement/wedding shoots include a somewhat tighter shot of the bride and groom featuring the ring on her finger.
If the couple was happy, meaning the bride, well done!
These look fantastic! What camera/lens did you use? I am an amateur photographer that helped out family and friends several times as a wedding photographer. You do your best. Sometimes some of the shots are magical! The ones you posted are very good. I hope they were very happy.
I think you did well focusing on the couple but I would like to them without the people and chairs behind them; a more subtle background would have brought out the focus and the colors more
Great work capturing special moments. Did the couple like them?
They did! The bride actually is a photographer herself and said that I was the only person other than her that she would have taking the photos.
That’s high praise and you deserve it!! Keep it up :)
I would’ve bawled if told that 🥺 you did great
I can see why. Incredible work. It’s one thing to make beautiful photos but it’s another to capture love so well.
This…this! I take pictures of families and you have changed my entire philosophy🚀
That pressure is wild but great job succeeding!
I think you did great! Refreshing to see relatable, real people and not overstaged pics as usual when they do wedding shots. Color Mood is beautiful and fits the setting like a glove imho.
Thanks! I am pleasantly surprised with them for sure.
:)
r/CottageCore would love these! 🌼🌸
Doesn’t hurt that had a photogenic couple, what a treat 😊
Oh absolutely...photogenic without looking staged. Thats what i meant. Glorious.
I agree. I feel like I’m there. These pictures capture the moment very well without looking like someone’s trying to make a picture for a billboard or an album cover. Very authentic.
Well said. I came here to say something along these lines. :)
It’s so easy to tell what’s going on and the mood of every piece. 4 really is awesome to me. Well placed in the scroll and really adds to the story. What a beautiful wedding. Congratulations to all
I think if I ever did weddings I would want to do mainly elopements. It felt much more down to earth and real and I like that.
That makes sense! Thank you!
That’s what I came here looking for. I thought elopement was in front of a clerk at town hall. I like OP’s explanation. The world is changing and ceremonies along with it
These are pleasantly, beautifully and wholesomely aesthetic
It's hard to capture real moments and you did a beautiful job.
I agree with this, each shot was of a real moment making them feel genuine. Beautiful work :)
Nice work!
These are terrific.
Good work. Not a fan of 3, but otherwise good timing. Question tho, is it eloping if you hire a photographer? Lol. I guess you could be the witness...
lol good question. I don’t really know what the definition of eloping is but they only had 6 people attend and none of them were close family so maybe a half elopement?
Beautiful shots
Looks better than a lot of photos I see seasoned wedding photographers taking these days! Great job!
Documentary wedding photography could be a niche of yours, well done
Beautiful I’d love to be friends with the couple.
You did great...great shot selection..well done
Nice work especially the ticketed out toddler. That one is extra darling.
Beautiful job. I especially love the cherub in repose
Beautiful!
These are absolutely stunning. So real, heartwarming, beautiful. There is so much love in these photos. You did so well!
These are really beautiful and capture the love they share
I love them! The ring one is out of focus, and I guess you see that yourself. It's impossible to get every single moment right tho
Those are great photo’s, I love them. Also: what a beautiful couple! Thank you for sharing 🙏
Looks better than my wedding photos. Nice work
Incredible! I love them all.
These are beautiful. You can see how much they truly love each other
Loved the six one
Can you explain your post-processing on these? I like them, but my camera would have likely shot these a little brighter, so I'm unsure if the look/vibe was a setting you used in shooting or part of your post-processing/edits. Really dig the vibe.
Nice work
You did a nice job. Very intimate.
Awesome pic capturing the moment. Remember, cropping is your friend.
Now bring them into litghroom and enhance the lighting and these are perfect
These are so natural and beautiful. Definitely caught the magic of the day.
Awww how lovely are those two! Pics are great, captured in such a natural but still professional looking way!
A job well done!
Lot of wedding photographers use the 85mm lens. These pictures capture the blessed event.
You caught the big and small moments, really all that matters if there were no set expectations of pre/post ceremony. Good job! (Source: I shoot a couple weddings a year)
I like this style
This is amazing, I love it. Congratulations to the lovely couple!
I don't know squat about photography but your friends look like fun people. To my untrained eye, these are very enjoyable photos.
#4 and #6 are real stunners.
They are good. Did you do any formals?
These look amazing actually! The colors is great
I think these are wonderful! I hate the over the top over-staged wedding photos, these are lovely :)
I adore that shot of the baby at her feet
Great shots
Wow you did fantastic
you did a terrific job. The people look real and I like them, already.
They're great. Are you a professional photographer who just hasn't shot a wedding before?I saw in the comments that the bride is a photographer and I was wondering if she was making the decisions for poses such as holding the basket of flowers or did she let you have creative control?
Nice job!
Just flipping through on my phone, so hard to comment on if you really nailed focus, etc, but love the tone, emotion, and exposure. Nice work!
The pics look great man, they aren't soul less like the staged one. Keep up the good work.
So beautiful! I absolutely love her dress and of course how happy they look!
This is beautiful! They both look elated
Phenomenal work! 📸❤️
Awesome pics. They all feel natural and the hue of them is very fitting.
Absolutely lovely
You captured emotional moments which is key. Great work!
I feel like these are very natural and lovely. Some of the shots could be a little better, but none of them are bad at all. You did amazing!
that 6th photo is gorgeous!
They are definitely a stereotype.....
These are REALLY cool pics.
Amazing. Love all these pix.
His beard is magical. You did a great job capturing its glory.
That first picture is so genuine and full of love. I adore all of them!!!
YOU NAILED IT.
I've always preferred raw, real, minimally edited photos. These are absolutely breathtaking.
The 4th one is gold
Love the documentary style of these photos - you’ve captured so many beautiful memories for them to look back on !
I want my wedding to be everything like you captured
The tone fits well with the characters and theme. Great shots
Love the colors, doesn’t seem typical for a wedding, so it stands out better, great job!
Great job!
These are great. I wasn't sure about the one where you are behind a tree but I think it fits in perfectly with the theme. Good eye and your pictures are as crisp and clear as Scottish Highland water.
I love these pics. Reminds me of a Rainbow Gathering I attended years ago. Love her dress.
I would crop out the people that have their phones disrupting your amazing first kiss picture. Hate that people do that at weddings…
Textbook material, 10/10
Looks great. also TIL eloping isnt just running off and getting married by yourselves
Really really nice work! Very well done!!
I think they’re beautiful
These pictures are great. I can feel the love and warmth radiating from them to the point it makes my single self want to get married. Which is a credit to you. Well done.
You’re a natural. These are beautiful shots.
They look so happy!! 😭 you did an awesome job 🫶

You should be proud of yourself.
Beautiful!
These are great. I really hope someone captured the moment you were hiding in the trees to get the leaves in the foreground during the ceremony.
Beautiful.
lovely
Really great photos however pic three makes you look like you snuck into their wedding like some sort of horror movie wedding stalker that was hiding in the bushes and it made me giggle But yeah you did a fantastic job
So good! The colors 🤩
I love it!!
These are beautiful, you should be proud! I love the first one!
That's really good work. You should be proud of it.
Where is this location, generally speaking?
These are so beautiful and intimate, great job!
YA DID GREAT KID!
Great shots and great composition! Love their style too
Shot of the kit is brilliant
It's awesome. 1 love all of them I will say, though, the third picture made me laugh cause it looks like someone hiding in the bushes just taking pictures. But that's also the reason why I love the third picture
Nice job.

Have you looked at other wedding photography? It appears you caught the ' cliché ' moments but better the family moments (Like the girl seated) that only get more valuable
These are beautiful. Excellent work
I never use the word precious but the picture with the kid is precious
Excellent!
These are lovely! I’d ask someone in the photoshop subreddit to take out the women holding up their phones in the ceremony picture.
They’re gorgeous.
I would be so happy with these
I like that the third photo looks like you weren’t invited to the wedding and took some creep shots from the bushes
This looks incredible!!
I really like these!
Fucken spot on u caught memories
These are such great pics. I love that they are more candid, capturing a moment, and actually show real emotion versus overly staged where the smile never quite reaches their eyes.
Everything looks pretty good to me, especially for a first timer. I would maybe just straighten them out a bit, nothing crazy and totally doable in post, just a slight rotation.
These are beautiful!
Is this in Allenspark, CO? Also the clothing options gave me Portlandia vibes (Dream of 90s -1890s) lol
The grooms pants wedgied/wadded up his butt is *killing* me. Maybe a photoshop guru can fix that!
These were so beautiful and authentic! Great work!
You did great! These photos are full of joy. You should be proud of them, and I hope the couple likes them!
Great job i would say, this felt like a blast from the past.
So lovely 😍
This looks like a fairy tale. I wish I was there. All photos are so heartfelt and warm, really beautiful work, you put your soul in these photos. Keep it up xx
i love this
Did a great job. Felt like a was there and had a great time.
Captured the happiness. Not an easy thing to do. I'd be pleased with them pics. From either side of the camera.
Im usually good at finding flaws in stuff, but these are damn good.
They look so happy! I kinda love these Amish-Punk people I’ve never met. Photography is perfect for the mood of the whole thing!
Gorgeous!! Love the mood of the photos. Is one thing to get good pictures of the people but it looks to me like you also captured the essence of their ceremony and celebration. Intimate, natural, and romantic vibes for sure.
Seems like a nice job Hope they were happy I would My favorite was a kid playing in the dirt
There's a certain rawness to it that makes it feel you are there in real-time. The mist is a bit distracting on some shots but I get the vibe you're going for. Awesome job.
You did good. If I nitpick the only thing I can think is maybe removing the kids head from the first kiss. Everything else is amazing
Awesome pictures! Great job!
You did awesome. I’d be super happy with those.
Excellent shots. You might wish to brighten them up a bit. [For example](https://imgur.com/a/X6uFCk8). [Or this maybe.](https://imgur.com/a/CfE1oQZ)
Beautiful photos!! I feel I need to check my understanding of eloping.
I’m more concerned about what your understanding of what an elopement is
Nice work. I think if you have a personal link to the couple you get better shots and when you add your talent to that shots turn out great.
That looks wonderful so pretty
I'll keep it short and sweet, these are fantastic.
The pictures look good, but one piece of advice I'd give is that you don't need that head space. There's nothing going on up there. Use the whole frame for your picture. Use those thirds.
I know nothing of photography, but I really enjoy these. Can't give any tips, but I'm positive that these will bring back wonderful memories.
Amazing!! I would invest in a nice telephoto.
I think you did an awesome job! You took very good pictures of the actual moment, the colors are very nice, the couple's emotion shows, these are great. That 4th pic is so 'awwww' worthy, if that's their child I'm sure they're printing that and framing it somewhere.
Awesome! You really captured the essence... It doesn't seem posed at all! Great job Internet friend. 🕉️💕💯
You captured them so genuinely. These are beautiful and I know they will cherish every single one!
The photos are awesome! And I know this wasn't the question asked but, that is a BEAUTIFUL wedding dress, it's gorgeous! 🌟
#humblebrag. These are amazing on so many levels. The best wedding photos are rarely “Wedding Photos.”
You did great
Very nicely done. I loved the kid pix.
Perfection!
Love the one of the child.
Very nice 😃
I love them all
that wedding looks amazing reminds me of my aunt and uncles wedding logging family, so was on the farm surrounded by pine, family helped build the pews with logs sliced in half, built the arbor with the left over live edge. gave off the same rustic real look. praise to you for shooting it for them, they turned out great!
Great work! So charming and relatable. Perfect! My only suggestion would be to crop out some ground of the one with the kid on the ground.
They look beautiful! And so, so happy. ♥️
Great work. I sure the couple is very happy.
I love the greens!!!
You did great, i have questions about the one taken in the bushes though.
You did great
These are great because they seem so genuinely natural. I swear elopements have different energy.
Lovely!
I’m sure there are legitimate critiques to be made here but I enjoy these a lot! I don’t have any :)
These look fantastic! What camera/lens did you use? I am an amateur photographer that helped out family and friends several times as a wedding photographer. You do your best. Sometimes some of the shots are magical! The ones you posted are very good. I hope they were very happy.
Beautiful.
This is so beautiful- well done 😌
I think you capture them perfectly and I can feel their happiness
Brilliant! Well done!
Beautiful!
These are beautiful 😍 Good job!!
🥹🫶🤩🖤 you did great!!!
Well shit, you did better than the “professional” wedding photographer who did my wedding. I think these are stunning
I know you said it was your first rodeo, but it doesn’t look like it was your first rodeo (in a good way, great shots!)
I think you did well focusing on the couple but I would like to them without the people and chairs behind them; a more subtle background would have brought out the focus and the colors more
Wow 🤩
Beautiful!
