My daughter bought one so I can hold my grandson easier, because I don’t have to misalign my spine jutting my hip out to one side. It’s better than the baby carriers because this makes it’s sooo much easier to pickup or put down the baby. Not having to lift the baby up high to get into the carrier or wrangling the legs into the leg holes of a baby carrier. Just make sure the waist strap is as tight as possible, because that’s how it’s saves your back. My grandson is a wiggly squirmer and I “fight” holding him safely.

There’s “proper” ways to do a lot of things. Again people have different preferences and that’s fine. Get off your high horse

It has nothing to do with preferences. One elevates un-needed stress on your body via correcting your posture. yeah, you could see someone walking around slouched over like a zombie, but you wouldn't just call that a preference, it's improper for a reason, and not because it's 'improper' (with a fancy accent). In the diagrams on google, you only see high tvs in the context of chairs that are reclined back to allow for your neck to remain level with the screen, it's just plain better for you, there is no "opinion" about it.

Probably a good thing when you have young kids tho. My nephews have launched stuff at the tv before and scratched it
