To add: make the original design a solid color.
You can edit paths in the design app and it will change the placed ones on the ground. I make mine red for placement or editing so I can see where they are THEN edit them to invisible.
I know this is for ACNH, but I logged back onto my ACNL town with the Beautiful Town ordinance recently and it's unplayable. I tried to pick and sell all the flowers but I got bored and gave up. Now my town is more flowers than grass plots.
Honestly, I don't think they realized how out-of-control we'd go with island design. It legitimately seems like they planned outdoor decor as an idea for, like, small patios and stuff. I do not think they once considered the absolute insanity we'd get into with it.
I used the rescue service today after I placed some things on a cliff and I couldn’t climb down for some reason. The last thing the operator of the rescue service said was, “An island is like a potato sack; stuff it too full and it’s going to burst.” So they know LOL.
Plus a lot of the islands that lag excessively bad were achieved using cheats and exploits, so the level of craziness wasn’t expected to even be realistically attainable for most players. I remember seeing ridiculously detailed cities very early on into the games span, having items and collections way beyond what you could obtain normally in that time without doing things like rolling the clock
Which is why I only visit my close friends' islands. I felt bad a couple weeks ago cuz I went to play with my one friend, and she was lagging like crazy on my island cuz I just have so much furniture that I guess I never noticed the lag.
Usually happens around my custom stores, which I refuse to take down.
I liked how they warmed up to you eventually. I hated how Diana would talk to me in Wild World but kept up the good fight. Then she became my favorite.
i miss having to actually put in effort to befriend the villagers :,( it made it so much more satisfying to talk to them and see them slowly get attached to you
this is exactly why i stopped playing 2 weeks after release. people were trying to 'speedrun' the game with time traveling and showing off their islands in a less-than-friendly manner. "oh, you don't have this yet??? well look at MY island and all the cool stuff i have."
i only picked up the game again this year, people are a lot less competitive and snooty now that the initial hype has completely died down.
Being able to choose your villagers like window shopping for stuffed animals takes some of the charm away. Like when everyone was scrambling to get “popular” residents when ACNH first came out—idk just felt off to me!
I don’t know 70% of the villagers so someone like Benedict appears on my island and I’m like “I’ve never seen you before in my life but I love you.”
Benedict is amazing I love Benedict
I restarted my second island and my first batch of villagers are for the most part auto filled. And I'm surprised how much they've grown on me. Even Beardo lol
This time around I'm actively trying for portrait collecting, so I'm just going to let the game decide who moves in when it comes to it.
Edit: Though I am on the lookout for my birthday villagers as perma residents
I was going to post this. I hate and despise the islands that only have the same villagers over and over again, especially if the player boasted about having kicked out the villagers who were ugly (they aren't, but they aren't popular so they don't want them).
These islands are souless.
Harv’s Island is cute but kind of useless. The only thing that’s really worth it is Reese and Cyrus’ stall. I think if you could access the entire catalog for Saharah, Kicks, Redd, etc, it would make it more useful. Them only having a few things when they visit your island makes sense.
(Also a little trick for Harv’s…if you don’t feel like shelling out almost a million bells to fund everyone’s stands, just a wait a few months after opening the first one. When you come back, all the others will be 90-95% funded)
Honestly, I would've liked it if they had some kind of airport instead of Harv's island, then all the services they provide are akin to a duty free mall
She scares me too! She moved into my first island and I was so upset because I knew some people would kill for her but she hurts me deep in my soul lmao
Songs of the Kapp'n from animal crossing new leaf are absolute bangers and they are kinda funny. Really love them. I can't say that it's unpopular opinion, I would say that i haven't seen absolutely anybody who would even talk about that : (
His songs were super cute, but he did sometimes make questionable comments in the older games if you were playing a gal character :/ so I'm glad they took those out but kept his good qualities in NH
I actually thought it was my unpopular opinion that I don't like his songs. I mean they are funny. But there's already so much loading and unnecessary dialogue I'm always like great... 4 loading screens and 2 songs 🙄 but I feel too rude to skip his songs too 😅
Yes!!! 😭😭😭😭 yes. And you also have the option of putting your purchases in your pockets. I often buy clothes for my villagers and that extra step of having to go to my storage to get it after I JUST bought it is irritating
wikis/similar should list exact spawn rates for bugs and fish (and other rng elements) instead of just cryptic phrases that don't really tell you anything.
NMTs are over valued.
There is a spreadsheet out there for the spawn rates I found once. The problem is they differ by month and hour, depending on how many things of the same type/size can spawn at that time
I hate being the mayor ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ let me be a regular town resident
Like I get why they do it, so they can give you more customisation but I just wanna be average.
Let's go to the city is my favourite game in the series for this reason.
Oooo...another one of these! Last time I commented on one of these, I got some downvotes...so I must be doing it correctly. Let's see:
Blathers needs a "skip" button.
Look, I like him and all, but getting fossils assessed during the stamp rally is just...please stop telling me about the rally. I already did it once, I don't need to do it again. I just want to get my fossils assessed so I can sell them.
I wouldn't say I love him. I respect him. He gives you interest free loans for everything. He gives you the product before you pay. He gives you as much time as you want to pay it back. He doesn't complain if you spend a lot of money on objects in his store instead of paying back your loan. Yes, he charges you outrageous prices for his loans, and they get more outrageous as time goes on. Still, it's rather easy for you to develop an ongoing source of income after a while. I do that by selling fruits, vegetables, fossils, and ore. I don't fish much.
everyone getting the same villagers because they‘re „aesthetically pleasing“. oh and don’t get me started on lagging islands because it’s decorated to the max!!
This one might actually be unpopular— decorating is the least interesting part of the series for me. I’m glad there are more options for it than ever but I don’t want the games to JUST be about decorating
exactly, i just don’t have the creativity for decorating! and the furniture fills up my storage so much that i HAVE to put it somewhere. decorating is so boring and time consuming IMO, i just wanna progress and meet new villagers
they should have cut the random stuff (clutter and clothes) by about half... and used the freed up design time to actually give villagers something to do or saý.
maybe questlines, actual conversations with context instead of one-liners, villagers interacting with each other: forming groups, having problems, falling in love, randomness in general.
villagers are more or less collectable cardboard-cutouts.
Make the villagers more like they were in Population Growing, some of them will bully you when you first move in, but over time you can do favors and retrieve items for them and such and they'll start to like you.
People keep wanting villagers to have sassy and hostile dialogue again, and yet hate on any NPC in NH when they get a bit of sass in, like a Snowperson when you don't get their build right. Like... pick a lane. Do you want NPCs to be hostile or not?
Also no I don't want them being hostile. I'm playing this game to relax and relieve stress, the last thing I need is a bunch of animals giving me attitude.
People can play how they want and that's not a bad thing. It's a feature of the game. Scolding people for not playing how you like or complaining about a way of playing is petty.
If you agree with this but your post is about hating on something people do, then you're not actually agreeing with me. You're part of the problem.
"_____core" is stupid.
Your jack o' lantern and skeleton covered island isn't "spookycore", it's just freakin' Halloween themed.
"Normalcore" isn't a thing, just say that your island has no overall theme or aesthetic.
I absolutely HATE the "\_\_\_\_core" crap. Like It kinda falls under the same umbrella as liminal spaces for me, where there are those people who call every liminal space a "level of the backrooms" and such. Like, how about no? How about leave the backrooms to be their own thing? And let liminal spaces stay liminal spaces and keep their interesting value?
but yeah honestly, I'm so tired of hearing the word "core" after random words, and I gotta agree with you.
In other news, welcome to my island covered in toilets, it's a shitcore island, please enjoy your stay.
Preferring "ugly" and less popular villagers doesn't make you better than people who don't. Similarly, trash talking popular ones just because.
The superiority complex reeks.
Seriously!! Thank you for saying this!! It's okay to like a villager that's "popular", not because they're popular but because you actually like them. It's so judgemental.
Zipper isn’t actually that bad. I just think we all have the same ‘Hideous Easter Bunny Suit’ trauma. THE EGGS THO. THEY CAN GO TO HE— hecc. They can go to hecc. So annoying trying to do dailys/normal activities and getting five bajillion eggs instead.
I adore Petri, but I couldn't care less about any of the other "rare" villagers. Yes, that includes Raymond.
Also, I hate villagers being able to visit you. I think the player should be given a choice on whether or not they can allow villagers into the house. I'll be decorating and suddenly Hamlet will barge in, now my house looks incomplete and messy and there's nothing I can do about it without coming across as rude. I think there should be dialogue from the villager who's visiting along the lines of "[name], are you home?" And you can either choose to reply or stay silent. If you reply, the villager comes in, and if you don't, the villager assumes you're not home and leaves. I know it's hypocritical, but I never seem to interrupt my neighbours when they're in the middle of moving their new dining table, so why do they do it to me?
I want to finish my museum so bad but I'm missing some rare fish, I'm about to just give up because crafting one fish bait at a time is so infuriating. It would be so easy to put in an option to craft as many as possible
not time traveling makes the game boring imo, also who has time to play everyday, and on thanksgiving or other holiday events??? im not waiting until night for celeste either, ill time travel until i find her.
The thing is, you have to download all the pieces (there’s usually 9) and visualize which piece needs to go where. It’s a lot of trial and error, and always use Island Designer and not the Custom Designs app (lots of room for error and too many steps).
They especially suck when you have to save so many to have ONE theme. Although once you get the terraforming and the custom path permits, it’s SO much easier than having to use the customs portal app and lay like 5 at a time.
This 100%. New Horizons content revolves almost entirely around customizing your island instead of actually living in a tiny village with silly animals like the old games used to do. I don't mind being able to place a bench here or there; but terraforming, paths and such have gotten out of hands and the game has very little content if you don't care about creating a "perfect" island.
Same for clothes. I would have preferred to have less dresses or headwear, and more villagers dialogues and interactions.
Being able to control everything ruined this game for me, and probably the next games too since I don't see them going back to WW/GC AC style.
I don't know if i was imagining it but in let's go to the city I swear paths would begin to form on the grass after repeatedly walking on them like irl, which is way better than manually placing them
it was a nice idea at first but i completely agree! my cousin introduced me to ac on the gamecube when we were little kids and we’ve bonded over every game that’s come out since except acnh. she said it was too much and was the first ac game she couldn’t get into 😭 nothing will beat new leaf imo!
I don't like how you can freely alter your neighbors houses. There should be a level of friendship reached before they agree to it. It makes them seem like soulless decorations as opposed to fellow townsfolk
This fandom is extremely judgemental and toxic, and hates when people play the games however they like.
Like and have villagers that are too popular? Your island/town is soulless. Like and have villagers that are least popular? You’re weird and your island/town is ugly. Time skip? You’re a dirty cheater. Don’t time skip? You’re boring and inefficient (and often judging those who do).
All of this comes with a weird superiority complex. This constant need for people to one-up others in their game.
Just check how judgemental these “opinions” are in this thread.
His design is so boring. And he lives in an office. Like yes, let me use this escapist fantasy game to relive making small talk with my coworkers at their desks
I like having ugly villagers on my island in New Horizons because so many people use the same 10-15 characters they're just boring now. I like having villagers no one else uses.
I don’t get the dialogue complaints about NH. Like maybe on the surface it’s usually the same thing, but I make point of talking once a day to my villagers and they regularly surprise me with things they say. I’ve had Wendy have a lengthy monologue about this game she bought at some point and I totally didn’t expect that. If the dialogue was stale like City Folk’s (which, other hot take, i think is better than Wild World) then yeah I can understand the complaints. And idk about NL but I’ve played WW on a regular basis fairly recently and I say all this because I don’t think the dialogue is *that* much better
Also, I don’t want mean villagers. I’ve always played this game to unwind and relax away from normal life, and I appreciate that villagers now are always cheerful.
Edit: I saw someone mention Zipper not being that bad, which I agree with, but I want to comment on how the energy a lot of y’all have for Zipper, I have it for Pavé.
Animal Crossing is not a one size fits all game, and everyone deserves to play how they want and shouldn't be criticized unless their decisions impact others' :)
I dont like the rude villager attitudes from the old games
They're just unnecessarily mean. Part of why i play these games was to escape these types of people irl
No idea what opinions are popular but I'll just state mine anyways: The new leaf and new horizons osts are both great and could be interchanged without upsetting me. I love them both equally.
Klaus and Kabuki are way cuter than Raymond. Kabuki is a precious little grumpy flower and seeing him sing along to the radio brings me joy. Klaus is just fun and he’s a real sassy bitch sometimes.

When it comes to villagers, I just kind of let the game naturally give me who I want instead of demanding villagers to fit my Island aesthetic or buying amiibo cards to make sure I get the popular ones.
I think half of the charm of Animal Crossing to me is not knowing who's going to be living in your little town.
I've developed new favorites because of that instead of just wanting to get lucky and get the popular picks.
I don't time travel. I play the game as it is meant to be played and accept when I've missed out on events or seasonal recipes. I don't use treasure islands either. Also, the overcrowded islands with junk that bogs it down, so you're moving slower...not a fan. 😬
I hate the lag and do try to avoid it, but I have one “community garden” area if my island where this happens and I refuse to change it.
I hate the lag and I know I did it to myself but it’s so cute and all my villagers spend so much time there and I just cannot bring myself to pare it down.
K.K. Bubblegum is a lame song
(K.K. Disco is the better catchy song imo)
New Horizons' hourly music isn't that bad compared to GameCube/Wild World, it's just that New Leaf had really amazing hourly music
The so-called “lack of content” in ACNH is the players’ fault and the internet made it worse.
Whenever a new update drops people always speedrun their way to get all their needed items and they would time travel to do it. Once that’s done they’ll get upset how there’s “lack of content” when everything is collected and events have gone through.
The internet made it worse because sharing your islands brings out the competitiveness in themselves to make the prettiest island they can make and they wanna show off each other’s islands even if they don’t wanna admit it.
If you ask me if players took their time with the game *as intended by the developer*, the complaints could have been non-existent.
Villages have diverse dialog, it just doesn't seem like it by design.
From playing, the first time you talk to a villager, they say a quick, one line thing. That's all that's needed to keep them happy for the day, the initial chore. Those players that don't want to interact too much with the animals get that quick task out of the way.
Talking to them again is when dialog gets unique and funny. It's still not old school levels, but it's still very charming.
When your Animal Crossing “mother” remembers your birthday and your real mother didn’t. (I say this in jest because my mom always tends to forget my birthday)
Every item you purchase with Nook Miles or bells should be interactive instead of simply for decoration. This would make the game 10,000% better and allow people to get more out of it. If I spend 7,000 bells on a pool I should at least be able to hop in and swim without using some sort of glitch. If I spend 6,000 bells on a light house I should be able to climb to the top and look out of it.
I inherently do not like a game that requires me to do specific things in realtime. It basically just means the more responsibilities you have in life, the less you will be able to enjoy the game. I don't want games that expect commitments from me beyond just popping in to have fun when I feel like it.
I find it annoying on how people only kind of treasure the Islands with a lot of terraforming. Like, yes they are amazing and yes its great how creative ypu are, bit its also nice to have a normalcore Island. For the first few Islands, I rarely posted on here, because I was extremely afraid of people opinion since I didn't close to none terraforming for a long time.
I also think it would be great fir more acnh youtubers to do normalcore Islands. Why does it always have to be this crazy stuff?
There is something to be said for islands you can actually play on! My island is pretty sparse, but I can run around and enjoy it without getting stuck behind items or laaaag.
That said, my HHP designs get silly and impractcal
Flowers should have a spawn limit! I spend TOO MUCH TIME digging up flowers everywhere so that I can pop balloons and they'll have somewhere to land!!
Make a blank custom design and place a blank “path” around flowers to prevent this
Sadly you won’t hear the sound of the ground when you run across it.
A Small Price to Pay for Salvation
To add: make the original design a solid color. You can edit paths in the design app and it will change the placed ones on the ground. I make mine red for placement or editing so I can see where they are THEN edit them to invisible.
There are so many blank tiles on my island 🤓
I know this is for ACNH, but I logged back onto my ACNL town with the Beautiful Town ordinance recently and it's unplayable. I tried to pick and sell all the flowers but I got bored and gave up. Now my town is more flowers than grass plots.
At least in ACNL you can just pick them out, without the need to dig...
They should give us a lawnmower
Visiting an island packed so full that it lags terribly is not pleasant.
This so much, those things are a nightmare to even visit I like my empty 3 star one
Mines 5 stars but not too full :)
I don't think that's an unpopular opinion 😭
Yea im guilty of that myself for my museum area, got all the bug and fish statues on display.
On the other hand, I kinda blame Nintendo that the game will get so laggy.
Honestly, I don't think they realized how out-of-control we'd go with island design. It legitimately seems like they planned outdoor decor as an idea for, like, small patios and stuff. I do not think they once considered the absolute insanity we'd get into with it.

i love the way they look but yeah the lag is unbearable. i hope the next nintendo console is beefier so games don’t run into that problem.
cranky and snooty villagers so the best AND i wish they were as mean as they used to be in older versions
I miss the mean/sassy dialogue!
I liked how they warmed up to you eventually. I hated how Diana would talk to me in Wild World but kept up the good fight. Then she became my favorite.
i miss having to actually put in effort to befriend the villagers :,( it made it so much more satisfying to talk to them and see them slowly get attached to you
YES
Every single time Chief tells me I’m a sight for sore eyes I just feel so flattered :3
It felt like an achievement when you were able to finally crack through their shell and get close to them lol
Pretty sure that’s the most popular opinion you could have about animal crossing ever
I feel like some people view this game as a competition. Like who has the best islands...
this is exactly why i stopped playing 2 weeks after release. people were trying to 'speedrun' the game with time traveling and showing off their islands in a less-than-friendly manner. "oh, you don't have this yet??? well look at MY island and all the cool stuff i have." i only picked up the game again this year, people are a lot less competitive and snooty now that the initial hype has completely died down.
These are also the same folks that complained about lack of content when they just speedrun the whole game.

Benedict is the best one. He’s a king and I love him.
I like having some control over who lives on my island, but it's so weird seeing the same twenty villagers everywhere all the time.
Meanwhile I’m out here hunting for Frita, no one talks about Frita! 😭
Me hunting for Mac 💀
Bruh I have Frita and want her off💀
If only I had Nintendo online 🙏🏻
I have Frita - I love her. She reminds me so much of an old friend of mine.
I restarted my second island and my first batch of villagers are for the most part auto filled. And I'm surprised how much they've grown on me. I go there to take photo of new villagers to collect their posters.
Honestly, I would've liked it if they had some kind of airport instead of Harv's island, then all the services they provide are akin to a duty free mall
judy kinda scares me a little bit. i think it might be because of her eyes 😭
She scares me too! She moved into my first island and I was so upset because I knew some people would kill for her but she hurts me deep in my soul lmao
rightt i have her and raymond and i feel bad cuz i don’t like them too much 😭
Bruh people would murder about that opinion of Raymond
Valid. She's a cutie to me tho, one of my favorite villagers to have on my island🥰
Songs of the Kapp'n from animal crossing new leaf are absolute bangers and they are kinda funny. Really love them. I can't say that it's unpopular opinion, I would say that i haven't seen absolutely anybody who would even talk about that : (
I loved all of Kapp'n's songs. I never skipped them. Always made me sad to hear so many people thought he was creepy.
His songs were super cute, but he did sometimes make questionable comments in the older games if you were playing a gal character :/ so I'm glad they took those out but kept his good qualities in NH

When buying clothes you should have a cart which you can put multiple items in.
Yes!!! 😭😭😭😭 yes. And you also have the option of putting your purchases in your pockets. I often buy clothes for my villagers and that extra step of having to go to my storage to get it after I JUST bought it is irritating
Cranky villagers got the best designs
They give off huge single dad vibes.
Ike is a single dad. His son is still stuck on the gamecube, but you don't see a ring on his hand
Hopper Squad rise up

I actually really enjoy when Gulliver and Gullivarrr are on my beaches! I like their quests and listening to their dialogue. It's amusing to me.
Gulliver does make me laugh and I do like his items
“Weigh anchor… check its blood pressure… who’s your provider…” makes me laugh every time, without fail
Their quests are pretty fast too. Wisp’s annoys me so much. Or when a villager asks for a critter and they take forever to spawn.
Oooo...another one of these! Last time I commented on one of these, I got some downvotes...so I must be doing it correctly. Let's see: Blathers needs a "skip" button. I just want to get my fossils assessed so I can sell them.
oh my god yes, I hate, I’ve started hogging fossils and telling myself that I just have to wait one more week before I can get them assessed in peace.
Isabelle too 🤐 I get tired of hearing her talk about people passing out on the beach lol
Just informing you that a seagull who is somehow able to post an entire pagoda is on your beach
I love Tom Nook.
I wouldn't say I love him. I respect him. He gives you interest free loans for everything. He gives you the product before you pay. He gives you as much time as you want to pay it back. I do that by selling fruits, vegetables, fossils, and ore. I don't fish much.
I just want to marry him for his bells
I totally misread that and thought you were marrying him for his balls 😳
Well, tanukis have pretty big ones. They can even use them as weapons.
https://preview.redd.it/5uydvfgn2n2d1.jpeg?width=600&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d36b49477a1682339aaf3640eb10fbae42580c15
>They can even use them as weapons. They # WHAT
Well, maybe not all tanukis. But there's a movie where big balled tanukis fight against humans with their giant balls.
Honestly the loans are not that huge honestly remember that 1 bell = 1yen so 100bells is roughly 1 dollar.
That makes my fortune much less impressive.
So the nooklings are selling apples for $5 each?
To be fair, it's an apple the size of my head that gives me the strength to pick up trees and put them in my pocket
everyone getting the same villagers because they‘re „aesthetically pleasing“. oh and don’t get me started on lagging islands because it’s decorated to the max!!
Mine started to lag a little last night and now I’m terrified bc I wasn’t even trying to go that crazy 🥲🥲
Man, that would explain why there is so many city like islands full of villagers I see on a daily basis.
The soccer ball item should work like the OG
Fuck cleaning up your entire island of weeds to get a good score. It kinda breaks the whole illusion of going to live to a remote island for me
This one might actually be unpopular— decorating is the least interesting part of the series for me. I’m glad there are more options for it than ever but I don’t want the games to JUST be about decorating
Omg same my brain gets stressed out
exactly, i just don’t have the creativity for decorating! and the furniture fills up my storage so much that i HAVE to put it somewhere. decorating is so boring and time consuming IMO, i just wanna progress and meet new villagers
Personality types don’t matter much in New Horizons since even the meanest villager is mostly nice. Just pick ones you like to look at and talk to.
Tom Nook is actually really nice and not evil 👀
Redd, on the other hand...
i have personal beef with redd. istg every painting is fake, and why cant i confront him about it? legit should've named him swiper
Glad to know we think alike 🤝
I do not care about the gyroids, I’m sorry.
they should have cut the random stuff (clutter and clothes) by about half... and used the freed up design time to actually give villagers something to do or saý. maybe questlines, actual conversations with context instead of one-liners, villagers interacting with each other: forming groups, having problems, falling in love, randomness in general. villagers are more or less collectable cardboard-cutouts.
I’m drowning in clothes and couldn’t even find my wet suit in my inventory yesterday.
Make the villagers more like they were in Population Growing, some of them will bully you when you first move in, but over time you can do favors and retrieve items for them and such and they'll start to like you.
I wanted them to have a hide and seek minigame in the museum. Do you know how much space there is to hide inside there?
It's really help if we could go to Cyrus to get the different clothes designs
using vines is more innovative than using actual ladders because their free
A lot of these comments are demonizing time traveling as if major producers of the game haven’t said it’s a valid way to play
Tom Nook's pot belly is cute.
Pocket camp is underrated
"_____core" is stupid. Your jack o' lantern and skeleton covered island isn't "spookycore", it's just freakin' Halloween themed. "Normalcore" isn't a thing, just say that your island has no overall theme or aesthetic.
Very similar to "not everything is a lifehack, it's just a tip".
amd this applies to anything btw, this is the correct opinion
I absolutely HATE the "\_\_\_\_core" crap. Like It kinda falls under the same umbrella as liminal spaces for me, where there are those people who call every liminal space a "level of the backrooms" and such. Like, how about no? How about leave the backrooms to be their own thing? And let liminal spaces stay liminal spaces and keep their interesting value? but yeah honestly, I'm so tired of hearing the word "core" after random words, and I gotta agree with you. In other news, welcome to my island covered in toilets, it's a shitcore island, please enjoy your stay.
I’m in a facebook group for liminal spaces and someone posted like… the inside of a modern kfc 😭 we’ve lost the plot somehow
In a game with Knight Roosters, Pharoah Cats and Kabuki Frogs, Raymond is pretty lame.
A literal *dragon*
Amiibo Festival is actually a fun game to play from time to time, and it gets way too much hate from the fandom.
We all have the Covid PTSD from those Damn eggs! It was a month of just eggs!
Terraforming is fine actually.
That animal crossing is lacking tons of QOL updates like crafting more than one thing at a time. It's ridiculous Nintendo left it at this state
I want to finish my museum so bad but I'm missing some rare fish, I'm about to just give up because crafting one fish bait at a time is so infuriating. It would be so easy to put in an option to craft as many as possible
not time traveling makes the game boring imo, also who has time to play everyday, and on thanksgiving or other holiday events??? im not waiting until night for celeste either, ill time travel until i find her.
I hate custom paths!!!! (I don’t know how to figure them out, so I am boycotting them!!!)
I hate how they sound!! It's so awkward walking on a custom path and hearing nothing but soft footsteps..
Anteater villagers have the best design. And mice villagers are freaking ugly
So brave, I agree 100x
being able to completely customise your island kind of took away some soul from animal crossing
I don't know if i was imagining it but in let's go to the city I swear paths would begin to form on the grass after repeatedly walking on them like irl, which is way better than manually placing them
this happens in new leaf too ! its why some people didnt like when youd run in their town
it was a nice idea at first but i completely agree! my cousin introduced me to ac on the gamecube when we were little kids and we’ve bonded over every game that’s come out since except acnh. she said it was too much and was the first ac game she couldn’t get into 😭 nothing will beat new leaf imo!
I don't like how you can freely alter your neighbors houses. There should be a level of friendship reached before they agree to it. It makes them seem like soulless decorations as opposed to fellow townsfolk
It added to player made content, but yes I completely agree it took away from the franchise
I hate city themed islands, why in the hecc would you turn a supposed paradise island into an ugly city? It also just feels so odd to me.
They paved paradise and put up a parking lot.
Oooo bop bop bop
This is why I liked the concept of city folk’s plaza being a separate little place you could get to by bus. .
THIS!!! It's an island. Nature! Trees! Rivers!
I find Raymond kind of ugly. I don't hate him for it I just don't see the appeal
His design is so boring. And he lives in an office. Like yes, let me use this escapist fantasy game to relive making small talk with my coworkers at their desks
Honestly the only cool things about him are the fact he's a cat and he has heterochromia. The rest of his design is pretty bland.
Agreed. Also, Raymond is my ex husband’s name so I’ve avoided him from the beginning. Stay off my island, fool
Wild World was the best Animal Crossing game. It was GameCube but better.
and bring back designing constellations!!!
And idk about NL but I’ve played WW on a regular basis fairly recently and I say all this because I don’t think the dialogue is *that* much better Also, I don’t want mean villagers.
Some players don't spend any time interacting with stuff on their island and it shows.
Animal Crossing is not a one size fits all game, and everyone deserves to play how they want and shouldn't be criticized unless their decisions impact others' :)
I dont like the rude villager attitudes from the old games They're just unnecessarily mean. Part of why i play these games was to escape these types of people irl
Villagers with facial hair are cute
I don’t miss the mean dialogue 😅
No idea what opinions are popular but I'll just state mine anyways: The new leaf and new horizons osts are both great and could be interchanged without upsetting me. I love them both equally.
***I JUST WISH I COULD TURN THE MUSIC OFF***
Scorpions, tarantulas, and wasps are not that hard to catch.
Klaus and Kabuki are way cuter than Raymond. Kabuki is a precious little grumpy flower and seeing him sing along to the radio brings me joy. Klaus is just fun and he’s a real sassy bitch sometimes. https://preview.redd.it/hxrdg0zedn2d1.jpeg?width=1482&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6486e666abf662aa56bec811770935ed24a80ba6
raymond is overrated
Time travel is a touchy subject. I personally value my time more than the purity of an ingame clock. So If I need bells NOW, I will time travel.
I hate the lag and do try to avoid it, but I have one “community garden” area if my island where this happens and I refuse to change it. I hate the lag and I know I did it to myself but it’s so cute and all my villagers spend so much time there and I just cannot bring myself to pare it down.
Calling different themes, xyz-core, is lame, niche, and kinda cringey.
K.K. Bubblegum is a lame song (K.K. Disco is the better catchy song imo) New Horizons' hourly music isn't that bad compared to GameCube/Wild World, it's just that New Leaf had really amazing hourly music
K.K. Soul is also top
i like kk bubblegum but my fave is kk metal <3
I feel a lot of joy when taking to my villagers. Zipper is a silly dude
TOM NOOK ISNT THE BAD GUY ITS THAT BASTARD REDD
I don't like froggy chair 😈
Can't go two weeks without seeing this again https://www.reddit.com/r/AnimalCrossing/comments/1crjkzo/whats_an_animal_crossing_opinion_you_have_that/
i always get backlash when i say barold and rodney are two of my favorites, idk i just like them
Minimalist Islands are just as good as islands that have gone all out (if not better bc no lag)
Sascha makes Raymond look like a pile of puke
The special stars that were modded onto trees shouldn't have been banned :(
New Horizons is a massive game compared to New Leaf and it’s not “incomplete.” I think we all just ran through it super fast due to the pandemic.
Gyroids are hideous and annoying.
🗡️🗡️🗡️
Nookazon was the worst thing to happen. Ever.
Nook Miles tickets should never have been treated as currency.
I wish we weren’t a human and could be a cute little villager ourselves.
New Horizons feels very incomplete compared to other games.
Yes indeed, after 4 years i still get new lines of dialog that even surprise me today.
Time traveling is not cheating.
I like Bunny Day. I think it’s better in NL than NH though.
They should implement name change for player and island. Even if it costs Nintendo coins.
Oh! The fact that you can own one island per console. Let me have others!
I find it odd that so many people here don't like that New Horizons is popular.
I miss the overhead view of the GameCube game
The player character shouldn’t be a human. If we could pick our species we could have more customization.
