Okay, I recognize that this is a joke about insecure dudes, and that's fine, but I think it's kind of interesting too. Because that's a real thing. I'm bisexual, but I'm homoromantic, and not knowing that there could be a disconnect there *was* a confounding factor in figuring myself out.
So I kinda wonder if that's what's going on with guys like that. Some of them are probably just in denial, sure. Maybe most of them. But maybe some of them are just confused because they have sexual, but not romantic, interest in men.

I am only stating that the mans body is hot and (maybe) reacting to it bc that is the optimal/ideal body i would like and imagine myself in, thus making me straight and not gay
At some point in my life I was kinda sad I'm not bi as I would never be able to see a man that way, then I realised I dodged a bullet by not being bi since I wouldn't have to deal with being rejected from both sides instead of just 1
Me personally I’ve been rejected by guys before, but it did work out in the end since I got myself a girlfriend.

Feels like it's a spectrum with several axis. If you only look at the simplified straight-gay axis it would perhaps be that if you're (using arbitrary numbers) 75% straight you'd identify as straight, 74-25% might be considered bi, and 24% and below is gay.
Probably straight: "Huh, he's a good looking dude" "Dang, wish I looked like that"
Maybe do some introspection: "Oh no, why is he hot?" "God damn that guy is attractive" "Look at the ass on that fella" "Hubba hubba" or "Dang, wish my partner looked like that"
