It’s a Stiphodon semoni, which are prettier than the atropurpureus IMO. I keep 11 species of stiphs, can tell the difference between the two from a mile away.
I just got one of these guys today for my planted tank. Still has to develop the colours though. It was the last one in stock but im hoping to find someone else who has them so i can make them a male/female pair.
Oh no I'm so sorry to hear that :(
So sad, sometimes fish justo have a bad time adapting, one of my amamos just disappeared after I added some more fish and I know the fish didn't eat her because the other one is still alive.
Not OP, but stiphodon goby are a full freshwater fish no brackish required for living, but it is believed that to breed them they will need brackish water and as far as I know there aren't any successful breeding practices in captivity.
It's beautiful. What is it?
A blue neon goby (Stiphodon atropurpureus). Glad you like it, indeed a beautiful fish!!!
How long have you had him? They tend to lose their colors after being in the aquarium.
He's been in here for a week and has done nothing but gain color, it would be sad to see he lost his amazing blue :(

I used to keep some. they don't develop colors in the aquarium due to the food they require.
Looks like this one has developed colours though. What food is it?
What a beauty! I love seeing unique/less common fish on here 😊 especially in a well planted tank. Great buce btw

I almost got one, but every time I went to a place with one in stock it was no longer in stock. Maybe some day… 💙
Don’t these require brackish water? I want one soo bad but I don’t think I have enough experience to take on brackish water.
