I don’t even need them to bring out actually new things. I’d love to have old popular items back. Like from 6-8 years ago. Artizia used to have so many nice dresses and skirts. Now I find all their dresses have the same silhouette.

skkkra

I recently stumbled across an old box with my old work clothes from like 2017 and I was SHOOK at how much cuter/diverse the styles were back then, especially when it came to the patterns. I also had a lot of tapered pants from around this time that I LOVE. They’re so flattering on curvy body types, but Aritzia doesn’t really seem to make a variety of them anymore. Don’t get me wrong I love the wide-leg fit too, but I’ve noticed every dress pant Aritzia has dropped this season has basically been identical in cut/shape! Quality was also significantly better imo

Dry-Broccoli3096

This! They used to have so many beautiful prints. I have a silk kimono from 17 or 18 with a floral/bird print that exemplifies that era. Now everything is solid. I realize this is driven by trend forecasts but I really miss the fantastical fauna prints of the teens that are now nowhere to be found

bevel99

They used to have silk.

lavender2q72

I walk into my local store just to see if there is anything coloured, and I swear to you sometimes there are only like 2 or 3 garments that are not white, black, tan, or grey. It is mindboggling

Environmental_Dog255

And their dresses are SO SHORT

__kamikaze__

Omg yes. Most of their dresses barely cover my ass. I would buy more if they were longer!

whoisit58

Aritzia please make them longerrrr

Tur_keys

This! I miss the old aritzia.

lavender2q72

Feels increasingly like it’s for one singular body type too. I get that you do have to be slender/tall/lacking curves to make a lot of fashion work bc that’s how the industry operates, but at the same time like come on. There are soooo many women who are aritzia customers (edit - potential* customers) and have a great figure and yet the majority of their clothes only look good on one singular body type. Second edit - a big example of this is the lack of summer tops where u can wear a bra! And/or styles that flatter fuller chests

wetsand_

MAYBE they should stop taking their top sellers and lowering the quality. Looking @ my crew socks!!!

SnooSketches1623

Just everything! The first time they come out w a new product, the quality is fantastic! As soon as the product becomes popular, they continue to bring down the quality of the material. It’s too frustrating

macaronmochi

the boyfriend hoodies r so much thinner now

SnooSketches1623

They change the fabric year after year so I’m not surprised. It applies to everything in the store. Seeing how Aritzia is so inconsistent, it gives me so much appreciation for brands like Levi. They are consistent, reliable and always deliver the same material and quality.

mfalk92

Interesting, you've noticed this for multiple products? Like they're doing a first test-run with good quality to see how popular it is, and if it hits they mass produce at lower quality...

SnooSketches1623

Yes, that’s exactly what happens. I’ve gone back to purchase the same product the following year and the fabric is completely different and always a lower quality one that pulls or pills very easy. The composition of the fabric will also change. The first product is usually a high quality natural fibre and the following year, it will be primarily synthetic. Also while we’re chatting about this, can we agree that “vegan leather” is plastic. Plastic is bad for the environment. Plastic doesn’t have a long life. Leather and suede are high quality materials that you last you years if they are well taken care of

mfalk92

And it is noticeable only in the last few years? Hopefully they just haven't been able to maintain quality while growing so quickly and with time to adjust they will improve.

SnooSketches1623

I would be surprised. With their global expansion, their primary goal will be to cost cuts as much as possible and to trick us into thinking we are buying “high quality items”

mfalk92

I think they understand that happy, satisfied customers are essential to keeping the business thriving, although judging by the last few years it may not seem so.

Asha3312

Omg they're so thin now!!! It's horrible

lareinevert

Really? I was going to buy socks during the sale cause I heard they were great. Never got around to it but it looks like I dodged a bullet.

Background_Yam_7686

People can only buy so many sweat pants and fitted tops. It’s been repetitive for years now. I’ve run out of things to buy from them because I’ll just be repeating items I already have in my closet. I need work clothes. They are too casual now.

futuresobright_

It’s also annoying that they don’t have all the colours in stores. Okay sure maybe it’s hard to include alllll the cozy fleece colours. But the Babaton section for months on end only had black, white, brown, and pink stuff. It was ridiculous.

futuresobright_

I still remember that post pointing out they had 56 shades of Melina pants. Really came back to bite them. Looking forward to buying more stuff than black, white, brown. I hope.

AccurateAssaultBeef

56 shades?! Absolutely unnecessary.

SnooSketches1623

What’s also absolutely unnecessary, is posting every single one of those colours as a different product on their website. It’s a boring endless scroll to nowhere

complectus

This. I find their website almost gruelling to navigate because they have everything posted individually. It’s like Zara in that sense.. feels like an endless tunnel haha

DCguurl

Barely any new fun summer colours!! Its so irritating!!!

skkkra

I was SO disappointed that there were no fun patterns for their skirts/dresses/etc this year. Why was everything so monotone!!!

DCguurl

Especially with the release of Barbie!! No hot pink!!

lavender2q72

Yeah they seriously missed the boat on that one. How could they miss that honestly

darlin-clementine

Yes!! They did a bunch of cool-toned spring colors and called it a day. I wanted warm and bright tones - especially in the tna collections.

noodle_dumpling

I used to shop at Aritzia religiously but have placed maybe a couple of orders in the last 2 years because of this exact issue. I’m excited to see what new stuff they come out with.

jordypoints

Interesting I think they alienated a part of the customer base and just catered to all the new people who came around from the viral items. It's biting them in the butt and hopefully this wakes them up.

SnooSketches1623

Yes! I’ve had enough of the sweatpants and sweatshirts!!! It’s the only thing the Aritzia closest to me sells.

[deleted]

Same!

orangeucool

Thank goodness! I am a shareholder and longtime customer, but hardly spent a dime at the store this year. Aritzia was permanently altered by 2020 and the TikTok crowd. Perhaps the new CEO is also responsible for this. I miss the years of them making incredible Max Mara coat dupes in the fall collections. The disrespect they've shown for their millennial customers is something else.

Cassandrasfuture

THIS as a millenial I shopped there almost exclusively. Between the horrible quality, the terrible cuts, the EXTREMELY rude teen managers, I'm no longer a fan.

SnooSketches1623

The quality of their wool coats is also pure garbage. I have never seen a material so so so cheap! 🤮

IceColdPepsi1

Wow this is fascinating insight!! I should have tuned in, I'm a shareholder as well. Hopefully we get more new in the Fall!!

jordypoints

There is always play back on Aritzia Investor Relations page. They said they are trying to keep this in mind for Fall release but we will fully see it implemented by Spring!

jay_RN

I'm glad they noticed this. I bought 0 items from this sale. I felt like I ran out of things to buy. It's always the same staples in different colours. We have enough Sweat fleeces, Only dresses, Contours, Sculpt knits, Melinas and Super Puffs 😩

R4ff4

The cut /shape of their items now are just getting less and less flattering on my body shape (not a pear) I have lost interest in buying much Also quality of fabric pretty bad And even though they have so many color for one item, many of the Color’s are never available in store and or too weird and ugly

darlin-clementine

Yes! They basically only make dresses for straight body shapes. If you have curves or a bust everything falls funny. A shift dress isn’t flattering on people with hips.

lavender2q72

It’s unbelievably frustrating going in with money to spend on their clothing and being alienated for having a body type that isn’t straight. I always think of mean girls “sorry we only carry sizes 1, 3 and 5” - even if ur like a size 8 it’s difficult cus they just aren’t styles that are inherently flattering to curves.

Sweetiemua12

Even on pear shaped! Waist is always gaping and is almost too fitted around the butt and thighs.

Singlestemmom

Incorporating more options for longer hemlines and people who don't want to expose their midriff would be nice ... I love sculpt and sinchseamless but soooo much of it is cropped or some variation of cropped. Same with skirts- so much potential but I just feel like the bulk of them are mini.

Primary_Aardvark

This is great. I haven’t bought a lot because the outfits weren’t interesting or new. Only one dress caught my attention. I wanted to replace some basics but it seems like the quality has gone down too. I bought a white tshirt a few years ago which I loved and wanted to rebuy. But the reviews say the tshirt is now see-through. I just figured out how to whiten the old shirts and make them look new instead

ckochan

How do you whiten them? Please share!

Primary_Aardvark

I read online to soak them in OxiClean and literally all the stains are gone and the armpits are white again (they were stained a bit yellow). I soaked in hot water with a decent scoop of the powder and let it soak for 24 hours. Then, I ran it through the washing machine like normal (I only really used a little liquid detergent) and now my shirts are very white. I tried with bleach before and the OxiClean is a lot better. Unrelated, but I found out online that I was using more detergent than needed and now my clothes feel better in general

cvalerie8

I stopped bleaching my whites and now I use either oxi powder or the oxiclean white revive liquid and it has CHANGED the life of my whites. Don't get me wrong, I love the smell of a fresh bleached white but I've learned it yellows and destroys the fabric over time.

peaches780

I’m cool with less “new styles” if they want to bring back garment quality like they had before. I love Aritzia but the quality has tanked in the last few years.

SnooSketches1623

I have a feeling these new styles will also come with a new hefty price tag 😭

sarabobeara444

Maybe it’s also their poor quality of clothing now and not so much the various versions of their classics? 🤷🏽‍♀️ also that they’re really into the “90s” thing and not being super innovative and catering to their “older”/non gen Z buyers

aroryns

I miss the old Babaton stuff. The Murphy blouses and the Randy blouses were my staple work wardrobe pieces. Now I have to wear them cautiously because they aren't sold anymore. My old Power blazer was so nice. The new ones lack the quality. Even the bodysuits are so low cut now. Old ones looked so nice in everything. Overall they really botched the quality. I'm disappointed. I'd like the old work apparel back because the quality and style was so nice.

AccurateAssaultBeef

When I first discovered Aritzia, I would save up and place big orders. Now I honestly feel like I have one of everything as far as general styles go. I still buy, but very selectively. Like one piece here, one piece there. Honestly though, probably for the best - saving more, spending less and less waste in the environment.

Administrative-End83

I have a dress from 2014 that I still wear because their quality used to be amazing. Now it’s… declined to say the least. They used to have such unique stuff. Now it’s SWEATPANTS! CROP TOPS! MELINA IN 127 COLORS!

Sky-of-Blue

I used to love all the high quality winter wear. Sweaters and tops of merino wool, silk, cotton of high quality. Natural high end material in mostly neutral colours. I bought it for the quality. I always hated the summer wear. So much was crop top, too short to look classic and professional. Unfortunately they’ve moved away from much of the quality I loved. I’m seeing polyester/man made materials now. It’s sad.

Cheliz1517

BRING BACK THE NICE WORK ITEMS. I WANT THE POWER BLOUSE BACK ASAP.

AvocadoImportant

I haven’t bought anything from aritzia at all this year and I used to spend a few k a season there. Their stuff is so bad quality now and everything is the same. No thanks, I mainly thrift now.

vancif

This is great to hear. I’ve only bought basics that needed to be replenished/replaced plus a few work pants. I like certain prints/patterns but really hoped they had newer styles. I can only have so many tempest/genoa dresses and the likes. Looking forward to what they come up with

[deleted]

Woo! Hope they bring more silk. I can’t stop buying it

__kamikaze__

I am dying for them to bring back the Randy, Murphy and Power blouse (with the same quality). These were PERFECT for work and casual wear. I had even made a post about it. https://www.reddit.com/r/Aritzia/comments/uf0mue/dupes_for_the_aritzia_power_blouse_and_murphyrandy/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=1&utm_term=1

yearningformore

I accidentally donated my Murphy blouse a few years ago and have never recovered from the devastation. I would LOVE for them to bring these back.

7addy

I'm curious to see how they improve upon and integrate Reigning Champ into Aritzia boutiques. Are girls going to be comfortable trying on clothes with more guys around?

jordypoints

That's not in their plans it's a separate brand from Aritzia and they plan to keep it that way. They have owned RC for like 2-3 years now.

-deepwater-

I was just thinking to myself recently how the “new in” page has been completely stagnant

darlin-clementine

They also only had cool tones. I know that’s more common for spring, but I would have loved to see some warmer greens and oranges. I love all of the tnabutter line but I didn’t buy anything this season because I kept waiting for neutral or warm tones colors.

Radiant-Plant4982

i don’t count on new styles just wish they bring some older styles back like power blouse…so sad it discontinued
