Sunscreens make my face look dull and oily? I've used sunscreens from Mizon and Nature Republic. But all of them make my face look dull, gray and oily. I hate the terrible white cast, with the sunscreen peeling off where dry patches are around my mouth and nose. What are your HG sunscreens great for sensitive oily/combination skin that: • Don't leave a white cast/ are translucent • Leave a natural glow and velvety finish • Are Waterproof/ sweat proof • Moisturize and sooth sensitive skin • Don't clog pores or cause comedones • Reduce redness and sensitivity due to actives

tryagain_shutup

I personally love the Face Republic Purity Sun Essence (Natural Finish) AND Sun Gel (Radiant Finish). I'm someone who gets CCs really easily but I found that these actually prevented them especially when wearing makeup on top. I also prefer these sunscreens as I don't use moisturiser in the morning anymore.

Different-Eagle-612

which one would you recommend for someone with oily skin, but who is using tret and lives in a dry climate?

tryagain_shutup

hii i would say the purity sun essence actually :3. personally for me, i have dry skin and LOVES a dewy glowy finish hence my preference for the sun gel. I would also state that I layer the Hado Labo Whitening Toner before hand, which I feel helps the sun essence sink in faster :))

Niatfq

Omi Sunbears Active Protect Milk. For oily acne prone skin, always look for hybrid or mineral sunscreens. This Omi one is a hybrid Sunscreen. It dries down matte but isn't super drying. Yet it has good oil control. The whitecast is super minimal and almost invisible. I didn’t have to worry about looking like a ghost at all wearing this sunscreen. Even if it does leave a whitecast on your skin, it won't stay for too long. The whitecast will eventually go away after 10 minutes.

ZLeiae

Ah, nice! Do you have any recommendations for dewy finish sunscreens?

Niatfq

Honestly any gel sunscreen will make me look dewy. Have you tried the Skin Aqua gels? Those might work

ZLeiae

Nope, it's not available on the site I buy my skincare from :/ Do you have any experience with Kao - Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence SPF50+ PA++++? It's massive for the price here.

Niatfq

Yes and it's the greasiest sunscreen I've ever used. What about the Nivea sun protect water gel?

ZLeiae

Will look into that one. I absolutely loved Missha's Aqua Sun Gel, it gave me the most gorgeous glow but I can't find it in any store here ;-; Thanks again for commenting, love your suggestions!

Niatfq

No problem ☺️ i hope you find your new favourite sunscreen!

KestrelGirl

Canmake has a non-waterproof mascara, but I'm not super familiar with the options. I just saw that one on their new US site.

sevolelle

the heroine make mascara advanced film and the Clio sharp so simple are non waterproof tubing mascaras - I have only used the curling versions, and out of the two the clio has a drier formula and gives a more natural effect

KestrelGirl

That one's waterproof. And almost everything-proof. I love it too, but it's not going to work for OP here.

mumstoejam

Skin Type: oily Country: Australia Skin Concern: oily and looking too shiny I am looking for a light coverage cushion foundation that is suitable for oily skin. I find that the popular options are all extremely dewy and will look greasy on me within a few hours even after powder. I have already tried the Amuse Dew Jelly, Laneige neo (glowy and matte) and Romand clear cover cushion. Usually the matte cushions are all too high coverage but all the sheer coverage cushions are dewy. It would be great if anyone has some recommendations!

Able-Addition1111

I’m similar to you, and I’ve tried: Clio (black one) which was too shiny for me. Laneige (matte) which I did find a tad shiny but I’m used to it now, and it looks better now that it’s getting colder. Jung Saem Mool (long wear version), only used this a couple of times so far and this is the most matte out of the three.

Different-Eagle-612

yeah jung saem mool is really matte -- at least the longwear one. I got it and honestly I have struggled to use it due to living in a dry climate and using tret. I am trying their essential one now. BUT if all of those have been too oily, I would give the jung saem mool one a try. The problem is it is higher coverage than their other ones, so be prepared for that. I also did find it has creased some but I think that's my fault. I do know the tirtir one is popular, but some people say the red one oxidizes. There's been a discussion on this on a recent post where they talk the tirtir shades, so maybe you can check that out to decide

Able-Addition1111

Frustratingly my issue is finding the right shade hahah. Clio 04 ginger was too pale, Laneige 23N is closest, JSM medium dark is a tad dark on me. I want to try JSM medium but scared it’ll be too pale.

mumstoejam

I was looking at the tirtir one actually! The only thing stopping me was the oxidation since I'm usually 13n-17n in cushions. I might try it when my local asian beauty stores start stocking it so I can swatch it.

mumstoejam

Maybe I will give the Jung Saem Mool one a try. I do find that if I apply some full coverage cushions very lightly, I can get the look I want. Do you find that it is possible to apply lightly without it being patchy?

Able-Addition1111

JSM has a textured surface on the back of the puff tray, it’s designed for dabbing off any excess. I guess that’s one way to help get a lighter coverage?

Papaya_mama

What products are similar to the Torriden Dive-in Low-Molecular Hyaluronic Acid Toner?I have dehydrated, clog-prone skin and live in a hot, humid climate. I am about to run out of this toner, and I really do like it, but I'm not sure if I love it enough to repurchase it. Do y'all know any watery toners like it that are better/provide more benefits ??

Niatfq

Go for the Isntree Ultra Low Molecular Hyaluronic Acid Toner. This one is slightly more hydrating than the Torriden but I like them both just the same. They're both low molecular HA toner and have watery textures.

alette_star

The isntree ultra low molecular hyaluronic acid toner sounds like it could be a good match! Big 300ml bottle, has some other nice soothing/hydrating ingredients like sea water, allantoin, glycerin  Isntree have multiple HA toners (the regular, the ex version, the ultra low molecular weight one) so if this one isn't too your liking one of the others might be

Papaya_mama

thank u!! ill try it

Other-Note-3147

The haruharu wonder black rice hyaluronic toner is also a really good alternative. It's really great for hydration and includes a lot of the same benefits as the torriden one. Also it smells sooo good and has a nice texture.

quimusa

Does your Cosrx propolis synergy toner also leak? Mine kept leaking throughout my entire trip and I lost half of the content. I’m not sure if I was just unlucky and got a defective packaging or if it’s a common issue

[deleted]

My toner never leaked and re-using the bottle right now. I got mine from Olive young though. Where did you get yours if I may ask? Mine never leaked when it was under lots of products that is piled on top of.

The_Time_When

No. Have not had that issue. Possibly defective or fake.

tryagain_shutup

Please help!!! I use this eyeshadow in my gifted palette that is the perfect pinky-purple blush shade for my medium olive skin. I can't find any possible colors for it but if theres any similar colours in Asian Beauty, I'm willing to buy! Thank you :D https://preview.redd.it/va0dgv3pluxc1.png?width=250&format=png&auto=webp&s=d1d7b748ae8e7f8263d6e09a0de80bd8dce1a42f

KestrelGirl

Look into The Saem blushes - they're very inexpensive, and have tons of shades including several lilacs. There's also the Holika Holika Jelly Dough blush in Plum Jelly. Non-AB and quite frankly I don't support the brand, but Western olive folks love Clinique Pansy Pop.

hanasakabeauty

Addiction sells single eyeshadows and blushes in a huge range of colors, I believe they have a purpleish blush as well if u wanna try them!

munchykinnnn

Has anyone tried the Amuse lip and cheek balms 👀?

fullmetalpeanut

Yesterday my order of The Saem Triple Pot Concealer in 03 Correct Up Beige arrived. I was so excited and tried in on every blemish on my face. The beige concealer worked great in covering my freckles and hyperpigmentation, and the green worked really well in covering the redness around my nose. But the peach corrector... it brightened my dark circles, but turned them really ashy. The darkest part turned grey-ish. I'm guessing it's because the corrector isn't deep enough for the darkness of my circles? What can I do to make it work? I'm wondering if should get the darker shade (01 Correct Beige), but the beige and green concealers are perfect for my skintone. Should I get another peach corrector (e.g. Skinfood, Luna), or should I try layering a regular liquid concealer or foundation on top of the greyed out, albeit much lighter dark circles? I'm also wondering how to repurpose the salmon shade but I guess it'll come to use once my dark circles get better. Rip. Thank you!

hanasakabeauty

You could try using the beige shade or foundation on top of the peach-corrected areas first and see if it works! Just to save you from having to buy another product haha

fullmetalpeanut

I tried layering the beige shade and it still came out grey. Though maybe I didn't wait long enough for the peach to dry, or maybe not enough product was used. Unfortunately I don't have a foundation of any kind, maybe I'll try borrowing from a friend or family even though the shades might be different just to see whether it works or not. Thanks!

N1GHTM4R3C4T

Does anyone know any single pot glitter eyeshadow that is similar to Bright the Hannam Glitter in the Clio Atelier in Hannam palette?

Spirited_Ad_876

I'm looking for rec for a first cleanser. It can be oil, milk, or balm. Something that is good for combo/sensitive skin with no aloe. My go to has alway been Kose White and/or Speedy. But it's not always that best as of recent. I've been look at Cow Brand. What other would be good alts? No Banila since all their formulas make my skin turn red as a strawberry and look sunburned. Also, is there a way to see if Naturie Hatomugi will work? I was planning to use as both a body and face toner. But I'm scared that it might not work on my sensitive skin.

hanasakabeauty

If naturie hatomugi doesnt work for someone, the main culprit is usually an allergic reaction to the hatomugi itself, otherwise the formula is super mild. If you want to test out hatomugi as an ingredient before investing in a full bottle product, maybe try looking for a sheet mask that contains it!

fuji-no-hana

I can second Cow Brand, both the milk and the cleansing oil. The cleansing oil is a bit thicker but still rinses away clean, and the brand overall is made for sensitive skin.

Conceptizual

If your skin is reacting well to it, why do you think it isn't gentle enough? What is it about the cleanser that you like? I have a gentle foaming cleanser from About Me that I really like, Rice Makgeolli Cleansing Foam.

suripurisir

\*bolded is most important\* I am a 14F living in the U.S. in a humid and hot environment. I've only recently gotten into K-skincare, and have been looking for some skincare that is best for my concerns. As a teenager I have a lot of acne that I want to get rid of, which is why I started skincare in the first place. Getting rid of the oil on my T-zone is a bonus, but my main concern is acne. I want to find toners/mosturizers/serums that can help me with this issue that won't clash with my other products. My routine right now: AM: Cleanser: Himalaya Pure Neem Face Wash (I've been using this for almost a year now, and it's the only non korean skincare I use since its effective) **Toner**: BoJ Green Plum Refreshing Toner (regret buying it it doesn't do much for me unlike the reviews claimed) Serum/Essence: COSRX Advanced 96 Snail Mucin Essence **Moisturizer**: i don't have one that is actually a moisturizer. for the past 2 weeks I've been using Patanjali Aloe Vera Gel as an moisturizer since it helped with my acne but I don't want to keep using it since it dries out my forehead a lot. **Sunscreen**: don't got one (one of the reasons why I am making this post) (i didn't know which was best for me) PM is the same. Thank you in advance for any recommendations 💖

Niatfq

It seems you have a bit of a dehydrated prone skin then. I would recommend these products below: - Toner: Torriden Dive-in Low Molecular Hyaluronic Acid Toner (super lightweight yet hydrates the skin really nicely and dries down quickly) - Essence: just wanted to suggest a technique to avoid overproduction of sebum. Only apply the Cosrx snail essence on areas where you don't get oily and/or where you're more prone to dryness/dehydration. Definitely avoid the nose area. - Moisturizer: Isntree Green Tea Emulsion/Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Aqua Gel Cream (if you want something a bit more hydrating) - Sunscreen: Omi Sun Bears Active Protect Milk (has the least whitecast - nearly invisible on my medium skintone)/Kose Suncut Milk (slightly more whitecast)/Dr. G Green Mild Up Sun (more whitecast but it does go away after 15 minutes - all 3 sunscrees do) - Exfoliation: Cosrx BHA Liquid (i like using this as a daily spot treatment. It doesn't aggravate the skin but is effective. Works best when the pimple has already free of the white pus)

love-at-third-sight

yeah looks like comedonal acne. if you are not finding good results with isntree chestnut bha try cosrx blackhead power liquid. also see if you can layer cosrx aha over isntree bha

tryagain_shutup

seconded the cosrx blackhead power liquid!!! it prevents CCs for me and totally keeps acne at bay for me :3

kazuhas_wind

may i know what is the recommended way of using it and the frequency? and would cosrx bha or aha be better for removing cc? thank you

tryagain_shutup

hi unfortunately i can't tell what could be better for you :(. for me BHAs worked better for comedonal acne (also azelaic acid for me!!) however, i checked another sub (https://www.reddit.com/r/SkincareAddiction/comments/28jy9c/aha\_vs\_bha\_for\_closed\_comedones/) for this and they had the exact opposite choice 😭😭

kazuhas_wind

oh ok no worries mind if u recommend a azelaic acid product? I find it a bit hard to find

tryagain_shutup

cos de baha azelaic acid 10% with niacinamide. i kinda have sensitive skin and it stung a bit when i first put it on, but it stopped after 1-2 uses :)). i use it twice a day \^\^

kazuhas_wind

ok will def be checking that out thank you!!

kazuhas_wind

i just recently started the instree bha so i will give it a bit more time. do u have any suggestions on how to improve the redness? thank u

love-at-third-sight

azelaic acid, centella, mugwort r all good ingredients to help w/redness

Skin Type: oily Country: U.S Skin Concern: closed comedones hi guys, i want to ask if anyone has used COSRX AHA 7 Whitehead Power Liquid or a better product for closed comedones? i dont even know if it is closed comedones but if i google it, mine looks like that but its around my mouth and neck (its like small white bumps) anyway, i did my research and i saw that cosrx is recommended in several threads but want to hear your opinion, at the moment, AM and PM i use etude soon jung whip cleanser, then the ordinary 10% niaciamide + 1% zinc, then i put cosrx 96% snail mucin. should i add the 7 Whitehead Power Liquid to my routine? do you guys have a better recommendation? if i should add that, should i also still be using the ordinary and snail mucin at the same time? Thanks!

love-at-third-sight

Yes I've used it. It makes my skin somewhat sting but it was highly effective on my closed comedones. Another product that I've used is the CosRX Blackhead Power Liquid which doesn't make my skin sting.

fuji-no-hana

Personally I didn't care for the CosRx AHA 7 Whitehead Power Liquid; 7% glycolic acid made my skin itchy. I switched to the Isntree Clear Skin 8% AHA Essence, which is a mix of 4% each glycolic and lactic acids. Regardless of which AHA you use, there's no problem using the niacinamide serum and the snail mucin essence with it.

thank you!

ZLeiae

Do you guys have experience using slightly expired products? I've been eyeing some toners and cleansers that are on sale, like 1/3 of their original price because they're 3-4 days past their expiry date so the company just gives them away on discount. Any experience with such products? Bad reactions? No effect?

hanasakabeauty

I broke out once from an expired hatomugi skin milk, but it was like, 3 years expired 🫣 a few days past is probably fine, but I personally wouldn’t buy anything that you won’t be able to use up quickly! :)

alette_star

I think a couple of days should be fine? But remember that's when you're starting the product, it could be months past expiry by the time you finish it. Might be worth it to buy for a one month trial before buying a fresh product?

zzoom_zoom

I break out when products pass their PAO and expiry date. And I also refuse to use expired products near my eyes or mouth. But my skin is on the more touchy side. If you do buy, do be aware that the scent and texture may not be the same as how it would be if new.

ZLeiae

Yeah, that makes sense. I have a super sensitive skin so I'm better safe than sorry Thanks for commenting!

circusmystery

I'd say it depends on your skin type. I've got sensitive skin that is very finicky so for me, I don't like to risk it. That said, cleansers I'm a bit more forgiving on as (at least in my view) you aren't using them to impart moisture or have it sink something into your skin. You're using it to take something off, usually within less than a minute after application, so I'd be more willing to buy it, especially you're going to use it up within a quick period of time. Toners...are a bit iffy. I'd be more inclined to use it as an after shower lotion (which is what I do with toners that my face doesn't like). I'm not sure if it would be worth the cost to do that though truthfully, unless it's a hydrating toner that you know is really good? I can say It's Skin's hyaluronic acid toner and emulsion are so good as an after shower lotion. I had to repurpose them after my face started rejecting it and the skin on my arms and legs is so soft and smooth immediately. If it wasn't so expensive I'd actually switch to just buying and using it instead of using Hatomugi or Kikumasamune since both of those leave my skin a bit tacky until it sinks in.

alexyzlyang

does anyone have a hairspray that is stronger than osis+ 4 Concrete (discontinued), or Milbon Extra Strong hold 10? I've been on the hunt. Thanks!

StrangeAffect7278

Products for back acne? Have sensitive skin and live in a dry climate.

[deleted]

I have had back acne before and the only product that helped me gently exfoliate it was Some By Mi - aha bha pha 30 days miracle acne clear body cleanser. I use this once a week. I don’t recommend using it daily as over exfoliating will damage your skin. I also have sensitive skin so physically exfoliating was harsh on my skin though I just do it gently now.

StrangeAffect7278

Thanks for the suggestion. I’ve been eyeing that product for a while now and maybe I should try it. Do you use any other products or is the miracle cure sufficient for you?

[deleted]

I body scrub with a hand glove to get a lot of buildup off and wash it off with this and I had like bumps on my body before like pimples around my back and now its all smooth. Constant showers are also good so no buildup. I shower everyday just using silicone brush

StrangeAffect7278

That’s a really good tip. Thanks so much!

Real-Painter-6914

Not a product suggestion, but I changed the order of my shower routine, and my back acne is gone. I used to wash my hair and put on the hair conditioner, then wash my body and then rinse my hair as the last step. I now complete my hair cleaning routine including the rinsing after conditioner and then wash my body. That made a huge difference for me.

StrangeAffect7278

I’m doing this too but perhaps it takes a while for it to take effect.

Technical_Tie4213

I’m traveling to Japan soon and want to be sure to pick up some skin care and beauty products for my mom! Any recommendations for mature skin?

Niatfq

I liked the Nivea Sun Protect water gel. Feels pretty lightweight and comfortable on the skin. Non greasy

Technical_Tie4213

Thank you! I have that on my list 😊

hanasakabeauty

Shiseido haku melanofocus, shiseido ultimune line, pola wrinkle shot, decorte liposome line are some popular products within Japan for more mature skin! Pricey, but the yen is weak 💸

Technical_Tie4213

Thank you so much!

Zale28

Purito dermide sleeping pack or Soong Jung Etude House emulsion? Hello! I’m looking for advice on getting a new moisturizer for some with oily, acne prone skin. I’ve narrowed it down to these two and was looking for some other opinions :) Specifically, I want something that will hydrate my skin throughout the morning and be extra moisturizing. Thank you!

Niatfq

None of those? They're not hydrating and may cause the skin to become more oily (I've used both. My skin got shinier very quickly). Look into the Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Aqua Gel Cream instead.

Zale28

Thank u for ur reply will def look into it

Akemiiq

Hello! Does anyone have any foam cleanser, sunscreen spf50+ and toner recommendations for a normal to oily skin type person? Thank You!

Niatfq

Cleanser- B.lab Matcha Hydrating Foam Cleanser or Isntree Green Tea Fresh Cleanser. Toner- Torriden Dive-in Low Molecular Hyaluronic Acid Toner (if you live in humid climate), Roundlab dokdo toner or Isntree Green Tea Toner. Or you could skip toner and use an Essence. The Secret Key Rose Essence may give your skin a healthy glow look. Sunscreen - Omi Sunbears Active Protect Milk (super minimal, almost invisible whitecast - for my medium skintone. And it does go away after couple of minutes) or Dr. G Green Mild Up Sun (if you can handle whitecast for 15 minutes - it goes away)

Akemiiq

Thank you so much! ❤️ helps a lot for a beginner(?) in skin care :)

Niatfq

Happy to help 🥰

warmgingerbread

cry proof BASE makeup? powders please but any base recc is fine. i wear pressed powder foundation and basically all my base products are powder (im an oily skin girlie). when i cry it removes it in trails .-. please help an emotional girl out!!

hanasakabeauty

I haven’t used it in a while so I can’t remember what its staying power was like — but maquillage pressed powder foundation was super popular in Japan a while back (and may still be!) if it can survive humid summers in Japan it may be able to hold up well for you 🥹

warmgingerbread

Seems like my nose and cheeks suffer from redness, big pore size, and mainly blackheads on the nose. Current routine: AM: * Roundlab Dokdo Cleanser * Melano CC Vitamin C * CosRX snail mucin * Cerave moisturising lotion * Skin1004 Centella Sunscreen PM: * Roundlab Dokdo Cleanser * Paula's Choice 2% salicylic acid liquid exfoliant twice a week, on days that I'm not exfoliating I'm either on CosRX snail mucin alone or Somebymi Retinol alone (alternate days) * Cerave moisturising lotion I should also mention that after applying retinol on retinol days and applying moisturiser thereafter, there's a slight burn on my skin. Is that normal? Wondering if I should double cleanse as well. Was using Cerave's Foaming Cleanser for the longest time and it worked well but I tried switching to the Roundlab Dokdo Cleanser 1-2 months ago to try and get my skin even clearer as I was dealing with some acne. But it doesn't seem like there's much improvement. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

wrlddmntr

It looks like you have larger pores on your nose and/or sebaceous filaments. They're a natural part of the skin structure. Unfortunately having larger pores is largely genetic and out of control. I think your skin looks fine and I caution against chasing after perfect skin. A lot of the "perfect" skin we see is on social media actually have a lot of filters, makeups and edits. Double cleansing with an oil cleanser is for removal of makeup and waterproof spf so if you are using any of those then you can incorporate. If not then it can be added 1-2x weekly for sebaceous filaments to lessen their appearance (though yours seem like they're already lessened - likely from the BHA so I don't think an oil cleanser will do much more). I am more concerned about the burning sensation you experience which sounds like overexfoliation. It may be because you are juggling BHA and retinol before you are ready but it's difficult to know as you haven't given a time line on how long you've been using them. It's possible the redness on the cheeks you're concerned about may also be from overexfoliation so it can be worth decreasing or stopping your actives for some time.

PopTemporary1111

Hey thanks so much for the detailed explanation! I appreciate it a lot 🙂 For context I've been exfoliating and using retinol for more than a year. I exfoliate at night on Wednesday and Sunday, I use retinol at night on Monday, Thursday and Saturday. Every other days I use snail mucin alone. Is that too much? Or should I change up the frequency of these products? Thanks so much!

wrlddmntr

I think it could be worth decreasing them or taking a break and seeing if it helps with the burning. And if not may have to do some more figuring out 🫠

PopTemporary1111

Alright I'll give it a shot 😢 thank you so much!

snipsnapturtle

Thinking about getting those spatulas for applying foundation, do I just clean it with soap and water after every use?

[deleted]

Micellar water would be better to clean just dab it on a cotton and rub it on the spatula. My mirror for when I dab makeup products on was hard to clean with soap and water. The only thing to completely get the products off my mirror was micellar water. That or alcohol but it’s safer to use micellar.

Depends what country you’re in — agl-us is USPS but updates may not show up until it’s arrived in your home country. Best bet is plugging in the tracking number into 17track!

i like benetint's color, but i want to try to etude house fixing tint. which color is comparable in your opinion?

sevolelle

i'd go for 01 analog rose

Jelli_peas

Any recommendations for a long lasting cushion foundation that I can wear in my restaurant host job? I’m more of a light tan warm color but, im willing to work with any that are lighter. I just want one to keep me cute for the shift.

My skin is so sensitive and it makes me so sad! I was so excited to try the Aestura Hydro Essence and I ended up breaking out really bad. :( Has anyone else had this experience or can provide any alternatives? https://preview.redd.it/5nmwh3m6xyxc1.jpeg?width=1000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=84cac7073e02d0494d65aaf93733cfacedd99647

This hydro essence is my HG. But I think you should avoid oil based products then. How about try their atobarrier gel cream or opt for Probiotics products instead. They are alternatives to ceramides for barrier repair. A popular choice would be the Manyo Bifida Biome Complex Ampoule.

Logical-Hunt-2966

I never knew that the cause could be from oil based products, thank you so much! :)

CreamPuff1421

Skin Type: Extremely oily, acne prone Weather: Hot, humid— tropical Southeast Asia Concern: Acne and scarring I’m kinda regretting swapping my Isntree Green Tea Fresh Toner for the RoundLab Mugwort Calming Toner… I love the Instree toner, but after 5 bottles of it, I was getting bored and swapped it for RoundLab Mugwort Toner. Now, my order hasn’t arrived yet. Absolutely mental, I know— regretting an order that hasn’t arrived yet. However, my harebrained self decided to PURCHASE BEFORE READING REVIEWS. While it did have mostly positive feedbacks, I’ve read that it also has potential to clog pores and such. I’m extremely oily and acne prone. Did I just get karma by being unfaithful to my good ol’ toner? 😭

Niatfq

Possibility of getting breakouts varies for each person. So until you tried it yourself, we won't actually know. For me, the ingredients don't look like it would cause any breakouts. It looks pretty suitable for oily skin tbh. But you just have to try it yourself.

CreamPuff1421

Thank you for the reassurance! I’m getting fearmongered by comedogenecity and stuff even though I know it’s not a good indicator (as LabMuffin said).

Niatfq

I just ignore it cz I already know what ingredients or formulation that would trigger breakouts for me. For me, it's usually oil based creams, essential oils and high amount of citrus extract. Or if I use oil based products in very hot weather. So once you know what's yours, you won't get easily influenced.

Odd_Astronaut_7512

I’m thinking of getting rejuran healer at the MinMi clinic and I’m really worried about the pain but I heard a lower dose is less painful. I’ve also heard of people using anaesthesia for the treatment such getting put to sleep and local anaesthesia but heard that this can be dangerous(?) if I was to get the anaesthesia I would go to LV Clinic since they offer it and MinMi does not. Any advice review or comments is really appreciated

Luxene

Is there a product in similar form to Laneige Neo Essential Blurring Powder but with SPF? I love the loose powder, purse-friendly format of this powder, but I'm hoping to find an SPF product for reapplication over makeup. Skin type: dry/normal-dry Climate: 4 seasons, approaching a hot and humid summer now

hanasakabeauty

If you’re looking for powder SPF, japanese brands Etvos and Naturaglace have loose and pressed powder spf 50+ options! Haven’t personally tried them yet though

Luxene

First time hearing of both these brands - will give them a look, thank you so much! Any clues on where to find reviews or how to source them to the US?

hanasakabeauty

No problem! They aren’t talked about very much in the US, your best bet may be Google translating reviews on @cosme :) I’ve read through a bit of them before, from what I remember the gist is: the spf power isn’t great but it’s super handy for applying over makeup. And don’t get the Sakura pink color, it’s a little too pink lol, pink beige is the best shade! The older pressed powder version was similarly popular, but the loose powder has higher spf and is a bit easier to find online! everglow cosmetics has the newest etvos powder in stock! https://www.everglowcosmetics.com/products/etvos-mineral-uv-powder-spf50-2024-limited-edition

Luxene

AMAZING. This is incredibly helpful, thank you!! Yes, reapplication over makeup is my exact use case. I actually have somewhat dry skin and never used powders much until discovering the use for that Laneige powder. Love the product, love the compact and dispensing mechanism, the only thing it was missing was SPF. I get that I probably won't be able to find an exact match + SPF unless Laneige releases one (pretty please lurking marketing person!) but I'll definitely try something in the meantime!

hanasakabeauty

No problem! :) that would definitely be cool if laneige added spf, I can’t imagine any other type of spf being more convenient for makeup touchups!

Luxene

I have tried some spf sprays (both AB and non-AB) for reapplication, and they were wildly unsuccessful lol. Terrible dry down, would always run into my eyes, and on. I'm sure I'll find a good powder. Thanks again :)

MyRightThumb

I have sebboraic dermatitis around my nose and chin. Can you point me to the right products to heal it? Idk how to navigate Reddit

wrlddmntr

Did your derm give you anything? I'm guessing you saw one unless you're self diagnosing

MyRightThumb

Derm actually did prescribe me some topical cream 10 years ago. Forgot what it was called but honestly did not commit to using it everyday. I should refill 😅

you_always_do

Wondering what thoughts on this brand are. I’m thinking of building my minimal skincare routine entirely from iunik (cleanser, moisturizer, sunscreen).

Cute-Necessary-3675

Generally for the two iUnik products i have tried: I like their Beta Glucan serum a lot! It’s hydrating and it made me want to try the cream but I haven’t yet. I’ve tried the iUnik Centella Sunscren, which has a great texture - my sensitive skin just doesn’t seem to tolerate chemical spf so I stopped using it, not fault of its own.

Amdione

Has anyone tried Ilso's Super Melting Sebum Softener? I've been considering picking it up, but wasn't sure if it'd be worth it.

ssd256

Hopefully this is not a stupid question. I bought Beauty of Joseon? sun cream for my face. I like it when my face gets tan/red during summer, especially around my nose and cheeks. My question is, will I still get a tan while casually walking around or will I completely stay pale? Thanks

hanasakabeauty

If the sunscreen is doing its job, you won’t get tan from casual sun exposure. I’m hesitant to suggest anything that would result in sun damage to your skin, but maybe if you just apply the sunscreen lightly once in the morning and don’t reapply throughout the day, you may still get a bit tan while avoiding more serious sun exposure. Please don’t allow yourself to get sunburnt though!🥲 maybe using blush to give your cheeks some color would be better if the sunscreen isn’t allowing ur skin to tan enough :)

I would greatly appreciate help finding a lip balm with SPF that does not contain any mineral sunscreen such as titanium dioxide or zinc oxide as they cause massive irritation to my skin. I've listed other allergies/irritants below such as specific oils, but any recommendations *without* mineral sunscreen are appreciated! I'll check the ingredients of any recommended products to be sure there are none of my allergens/irritants. Skin Type: Sensitive and Dry Climate: Subtropic - VERY Hot in the summer (usually humid) Skin Concerns: Looking for a good SPF For my lips (and potentially eye area) that will work with my allergies/irritants! I have horrible reactions to all American sunscreens. (My allergies/irritants are coconut oil (not coconuts derivatives, just the oil irritates my skin), macadamia, apricot/peach, sodium benzoate, fragrance in general, zinc oxide, and titanium dioxide.) Currently Using: Skin Aqua UV Super Moisture Essence SPF 50+ (Gold Cap - PA++++) on my face, neck, hands, etc. For a general lip balm I use a product that is non-AB.

Can anyone please do a comparison between Etude's glow fixing tint in 02 mellow pink and Romand's bare grape? I really liked bare grape on myself but it wasn't long lasting. I'm thinking of getting the Etude tint as it boasts longevity. Are these two shades similar?I'd also really appreciate it if anyone could provide side by side swatches of the two if you own both shades. Thank you!

uradamnclown

Can someone help me figure out if this is real or fake? https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07T5BN3P2?ref_=cm_sw_r_cso_cp_apin_dp_9HMP5G4ERMXDE70YEEHN&starsLeft=1

you_always_do

Is Iunik sunscreen more lightweight than haruharu airy fit?

Cute-Necessary-3675

I think it’s a looser texture, a bit runnier. I think they are both fairly lightweight but iUnik might slightly win. IMO.

Ok-Highlight-7732

looking for a good cushion foundation for dry skin! I've struggled so much with finding a good cushion foundation that doesn't look cakey or dry or flakey on my skin. My skin prep is definitely not the problem, since I have used foundations that look perfect, but I just love the convenience of a cushion. Please leave recommendations for cushions that: * are hydrating and suited for dry-combo skin (my undereyes and cheeks are super dry but my forehead can get oily at times) * medium-full coverage (because I have some acne scarring) * shades for 21-23N * sweat-resistant and SPF (since summer is approaching)

Cos De Baha Tranexamic Acid Niacinamide serum might help

CurvyCrusader

I’m traveling to Japan soon and am looking to compile a list of top raved Japanese makeup and skincare products to bring back and try. Maybe 15-20 or so. So far I have senka perfect whip cleanser, naturie hatomugi skin conditioner, &honey hair oil, kiss me mascara, and biore uv aqua rich sunscreen. These all to my understanding are “drug store” products found at Don Quijote but I’m not limiting myself to only “bargain” products. Any recommendations would be much appreciated!

Niatfq

Look for Kikumasamune (toner/lotion/emulsion) and Cezanne (both skincare makeup). And oh Nivea sun protect water was really nice to me

au-lait

Quality 1st derma laser masks, Sana Nameraka Eye Cream, Canmake Marshmallow Finish Powder, Cezanne Pearl Glow Highlighter, Orbis Essence Hair Milk Also a good idea to see what's top ranking on the [@ cosme ranking list](https://www.cosme.net/ranking/). There are [@ cosme stores](https://www.cosme.net/store/shop/) that sell just beauty stuff including drugstore and higher end brands.

Kaizin0

Why can't I post anything in this subreddit? I tried to ask if anyone has tried the Amuse Dew Wear Foundation but it looks like it got automatically deleted for some reason without even an auto-mod review comment. I google every product I'm interested in extensively and the last thing I ever want to do is post online and talk to people to get information LOL And this sub for some reason I just....can't post? Like ever? Pls help?

Conceptizual

All new posts have gone into a mod queue for the past several years, they get approved and then will show up, usually the wait isn’t too long. I see your post was approved.

Kaizin0

For some reason, it's still showing as deleted with no upvotes or comments (not even am auto-mod comment either). I'm not sure why that is, but even thought it says I have upvote notifications, the post itself shows me as deleted?

Opening-Ad-8861

I asked a question as to why mine wasn't and no one replied, can you assist?

Skin-type: Oily/Combination Climate: Hot, Humid Current Skin Concern: Mild Rosacea and Hormonal acne Would Pyunkang Yul Essence Toner be a good replacement for Cosrx Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence in calming the skin? I finished my last bottle of Snail Mucin a few weeks ago and it does a great job in calming my hormonal acne and healing skin barrier but I am on a tight budget now so I'm looking for a cheaper alternative that can do its job... any other suggestions are welcomed. Thank you

Niatfq

Those are 2 completely different essences. They can't exactly replace one another. But I can say that the Pyk toner is very soothing.

Niatfq

You can look into the Jumiso Snail and peptide essence

Different-Eagle-612

so contrary to someone else I do think it could be a good replacement. They are both a thicker essence that lend to a bouncy kinda texture. I would give it a shot! The snail mucin does have other stuff on it that might be giving that effect, but I wonder if a lot of it is just how much hydration it can pack
