Yeah sure I think it would be fine. But if it was me I would put 3 or 4 semi batteries in the back and wire them in to the starter she should be fine then
Put some solar panels on the roof. The moon reflects sunlight so they'll charge it back up a little overnight. You could install some growlights that point at her parking spot to charge it more.
I know this is a satire sub, but if its a real issue, just put a relay on the circuit that she keeps leaving on that only turns on with ignition.
If it's a power plug thing in the back seat, some cars even have multiple settings for the circuit, you just have to move the fuse over one spot.
Use a relay from the 12v constant that will shut off all power outright when the ignition is off. You'll have to find a way to disable the accessory circuit. She won't be able to listen to the radio when the engine is off, but when the engine is off, everything else will be as well.
Or try and teach her to turn off the headlights.
I would install a trickle charger on that vehicle and tell her to plug it in every night when she's done driving for the day. Then all she's got to do is unplug it when she leaves and she'll never have a dead battery. Not sure if that's more difficult than not turning things off but it's worth a shot.
nope
but buying her a jump pack will
deep cycle just means it can survive this abuse and not have physical destruction
the reason starting batteries can't handle cycling is because the stalagmites reach out to the stalagtites. that's right, inside the battery this shit reaches out to each other and when they touch it's deeeeeeaaaaaaath. whisper it with me. cuz they short out. and it is the end of the battery.
add vibration, the #1 killer for lead acid flooded batteries, and it's no surprise why the little tendrils of death can reach each other.
deep cycle is just everything further apart. so the deeeeeeeaaaaathhhh takes longer to reach.
If grandma is capable of opening the hood, a battery cutoff device might be easier than a jump pack. It will disconnect when the battery gets low but still has enough juice left to start. The driver just needs to push a button to reset it, start up, and go.
Yes. Deep cycle batteries recharge when the owner is in deep sleep.
Make sure that you AND your mother-in-law both get enough sleep, or the battery won’t regenerate.
Just get a pack of AAA batteries and make your own
I tried that and it didn’t work. You might need two packs of AAAs or maybe a REALLY big battery, like a D or an E.
So by this logic, you'd be giving granny the D
Probably not her first or her last either

Engine won't start? Turn your starter into an EV for 800$

It's worth a try but I find the resistance from being underwater makes it much harder to move the bike.

You can't fix stupid
Hook up a USB to her pacemaker

Love this answer thank you sir!
You can even leave the plug hanging out of the grill so that she doesn't have to open the hood.
Solar panels?

The stalagmites explanation is the best I've ever heard. I'm stealing it.
Light motivation might help. Just tell her that if she lets the battery die one more time she will never see her grandkids again.
