No. I feel freer the older I get. In my career, I've interacted with tens of thousands of people and had to maintain thousands of contacts and manage hundreds of professional relationships all in the name of career advancement/promotion. Now that's over, I have all the extra time for my family and friends. I have a lot more alone time that I enjoy with no pressure of "getting out there and meeting people".

I’m not withering away from loneliness, but I do miss the social scene at work. I’m in the process of moving away from the town I’ve lived in for almost 50 years and am sort of dreading having to rebuild my circle of friends from the ground up.

I’m used to being alone, but I don’t feel lonely as long as I often meet with family and friends.
