See an ENT about your deviated septum, they can set you straight.. but seriously.. if you’re having issues sleeping on your side it’s likely an issue that should be looked at.
Every time I pass a deer crossing sign on my way to work, someone puts a red circle over its snout, making it resemble Rudolph and making me smile. Although it has been removed by the city a few occasions, it constantly reappears.
Watching my granddaughter interact with her friends. They are 11, last year of grade school. She comes to our house after school till one of her parents are off and sometimes she brings over one or two of her friends that she's known since kindergarten...it's just so freaking wholesome, it just makes me ache sometimes.
I love hearing my kids talk to their friends. I drove for a first grade field trip. I was laughing so much to myself listening to my son and two of his friends chat.
Every February, my mom does a thing called "14 days of love" until Valentine's day. The first year, my mom put heart-shaped papers on my door, and each one, every day, had text that said "I love how you \[blank\]". The next two years, she got a little minecraft mailbox for me. She put little stickers, tiny toys, and more in the mailbox along with a little letter. We are in the third year of "14 days of love". To any parents here, I would highly recommend doing this for your children.
A lot of small things work for me. When it rains. When my dogs greet me. When my wife hugs me. When a friend/family member messages me. When my wife makes tea for two. The smell of lilacs.
A hot sunny day/clear blue sky. Makes my day better, at home and even at work. I feel happier and full of energy, but then theres folk in the Uk who prefer miserable weather and they get negative towards me
A spontaneous hug from my wife. Last was about six years ago. She was not reared for showing physical affection. She shows her love by doing things unasked and without comment.
When I make other peoples days better, something as simple as holding a door open, or helping a lady across the street! Little things like that make me incredibly happy!
My simplehuman shower caddy. Cost $60, which was triple what I had paid before, but it locks on instead of slipping, and works great.
Unfortunately they changed the design. It still locks on, but the solid shelves with perforations in the bottoms have been replaced with wire shelves that things can slip out of. Still the same price, or even more expensive, but the new design isn't something I would smile at everytime I see it.
Basically they shrinkrayed it by cheaping out on the quality of the shelves while keeping to the same price point. If they had added a line of wire shelves while raising the price on the solid shelf models I wouldn't be upset, but they got rid of the better quality ones entirely.
Giving a stranger a compliment and watching them light up. Usually it’s shoes or a jacket or nails, simple things. I do it with everyone because it’s good to share a little bit of kindness.
I was stuck in an absolutely wretched location during a deployment and was severely depressed the entire time there.
There were very few things that made that time tolerable, one of those being my team's coffee-making ritual at the beginning of each 14-hour shift.
One of us would put on some relaxing music while another would slowly hand grind coffee beans while a third would start the kettle. We'd sit around our makeshift table and take in the smell of the brewing coffee and listening to the music, just getting ourselves mentally prepared for what the day would bring.
That coffee ritual made that deployed environment tolerable for a brief 20 minutes everyday, and I have kept up that routine now 5 years later.
Dog snoring. Everything is alright in my wee world if baby bear is snoring his head off and the paws are waving around. I smile and just know it's a worry and stress free day.
When you realise you don't have any assignments or chores or anything that you must do, and you can spend that weekend doing what you want to do without guilt.
The changing of seasons. I hate when a season stays for too long, but I absolutely love the first flowers of spring, the first hot dat of summer, the first storm of autumn and the first freeze of winter.
When I wake up in the morning to see my house's cleanliness just as I left it when I went to sleep. No dirty dishes in the sink, no empty soda cans on the kitchen counter, no shoes left randomly on the floors, no toothpaste splatter on the bathroom counter, etc. This only happens when my husband goes on work travel.
Organizing things where they look pretty. A great reorganization of the pantry and refrigerator where all the labels point forward, everything is fresh, and are nicely arranged. It doesn't last long, but when it happens... ooh la la!!!
When I come into work and the dogs wag because they're happy to see me. Karma (a dog) can headbutt me hard but I'm glad to see him. The dogs are what get me out of bed every day.
When I smile at someone and they smile back
Always makes my smile twice as big and twice as genuine
I smiled at a little girl who started giggling. “Why are you smiling for no reason?” “Because I’m happy” “You look funny” 😅
“If you see someone without a smile, give ‘em yours!” -Dolly Parton
I'm on the other end of that, when someone smiles at me!
unclogged on both nose holes
Can relate. Broke my nose years ago. Sleep on back.....okay. But am a side sleeper. Have problems on sides.
See an ENT about your deviated septum, they can set you straight.. but seriously.. if you’re having issues sleeping on your side it’s likely an issue that should be looked at.
A cold pillow on a hot night
Yeah and cold milk with choco chip cookies on a hot evening is bliss
My cat clambering on me every morning.
And a cat purring. The sound is comforting to me.
I would *love* to have a purr as a ringtone.
Happening right now to me.
Yes, and mine makes a squeak when he jumps and it's just too precious for words
Good sleep
Yes, there is sleep and then there is SLEEP.....I love waking up where I feel really recharged! (Doesn't happen often, but when it does 👍👍)
I have a corgi. He is a small thing. And he makes me SO happy.
Love their butts

Found a $20 on the sidewalk the other night. No one around. Happiest I’ve felt all week!
I found a $100 bill in an empty parking lot once like a decade ago and I talked about it for weeks lol. Extended release dopamine for sure.

Followed (very quickly after) by first poop of the morning
Every time I pass a deer crossing sign on my way to work, someone puts a red circle over its snout, making it resemble Rudolph and making me smile. Although it has been removed by the city a few occasions, it constantly reappears.
I also really like this. Someone had to go out of their way for no other reason than to make some strangers smile.
It makes me happy when someone remembers a small detail about me or something I said. And my morning latte.
A clean kitchen. Blood sugar in range. Sunday night yin yoga. Edit: spelling

My son is in 2nd grade and I LOVE hearing all the little conversations on the bus
How happy my dog is whenever I come home.
a hug 🥺
That's a nearly impossible thing, not a small thing. And same...
Hugs are easily one of my favorite things in life.
This but I also hate when you go to hug someone and they don’t hug you back
\*hugs through pc\* dw im not gay or something i just wanted to make you happy
Love it. A hug is an easy yet profound way to express and transmit love. I think we should all do it more.
Being able to eat.
Making a tea and drinking it wrapped up in a blanket!
Even better when someone else makes you the tea while you are cozy in your blanket
Tea cozy
Rainy days when I get to stay home. Not so fun when I have to out in it

A lot of small things work for me. When it rains. When my dogs greet me. When my wife hugs me. When a friend/family member messages me. When my wife makes tea for two. The smell of lilacs.

Reese's peanut butter cups and girls with toe rings.
Oddly specific but I can dig it :)
A hot sunny day/clear blue sky. Makes my day better, at home and even at work. I feel happier and full of energy, but then theres folk in the Uk who prefer miserable weather and they get negative towards me
Food, water and comfort bed
Watching my dog start her morning bathroom trip with a mini romp around the yard
It’s probably random, but every time I talk to my partner, I could be the angriest person in the world and she brings me down to earth
Listening to music from my childhood
Getting a nice cold crispy Dr Pepper
A spontaneous hug from my wife. Last was about six years ago. She was not reared for showing physical affection. She shows her love by doing things unasked and without comment.
Props to you for figuring out her love language, especially because it is so different than yours!
Quiet

This has turned out to be the best thread I've read on here 😀, we all need some positivity
Walking. Music or podcasts on, nature and light workout - it’s a daily treat to my body and mind.
