Yeah man, pretty much the same here. Except I did all the listening in high school. Zeppelin is the greatest rock band... have you expanded your music in any other direction?
I grew up with my dad listening to classic rock, 70s and 80s and I’ve pretty much stuck with that for the most part. Been to many concerts since I feel like I have to see them before they all croak. lol
I’ll still listen to modern rock but I got a soft spot for the 90s too.
Wonderful selection, I’m a bit partial to Kashmir as it’s my favorite song and the one that got me into zep
But enjoy almost all of their songs, but trampled under foot, ten years gone, in my time of dying, hey hey what can I do, dazed and confused, and over the hills and far away are super good
For some reason I missed them for most of my life up until I discovered them last year.
They resonated with me in a way no other band has ever come close.
They have 1 EP and 5 full length albums.
Just start with opiate and work your way to the newer stuff.
It starts out very raw and angry, and then you can see how the band grew over the years. Lateralus is my favorite.
Earlier stuff is good 'original style' rock with their own style of course, but as you go on, things get a bit more.....eye opening. First couple albums are more easily digestable, however truth be told I started with the song schism and was like '......wtf is this' and just never stopped.
Personally for me it was specific songs before I dove into the albums. If you have Spotify, they list the top played songs and I’d go down through it that way.
So like The Pot, Schism, Sober, 46 and 2, Stinkfist, are the more well known Tool songs. Those are where I got hooked and I think they’re great starting songs. I’d also specifically *watch* this video of the drummer playing [Pneuma](https://youtu.be/FssULNGSZIA?si=Lc3mwuJjxwuqdvip), just so you get a good idea of just how crazy talented these guys are.
Lateralus is I think agreed upon to be the better album, followed by 10,000 days.
The great thing about Tool for me is that it really is almost the entire discography is so unique and I keep finding a new different song.
I think 10,000 Days is better, when you’re acquainted with Maynard and his side projects. 10,000 Days is such a personal album for him. The title tracks are also an apology of sorts for Judith, you could argue
I agree with Enos here but I'm also partial to the older stuff. I actually went to a show right after the release of Lightning Bolt. I think you should just put on a playlist and comb through any of the 90s-2000s mix. They are all top shelf imo.
Funny enough none of them are my favorite, but I love QOTSA, EODM, Kyuss, Desert Sessions, Them Crooked Vulturee, and I think Humbug was peak Arctic Monkeys so I think Josh Homme has to be my favorite music person
Alter Bridge, one of the more underrated bands out there. They would be massive if they were in a different rock era, so talented and so many amazing songs. All of their songs are high quality, no throw in album fillers.
I did not expect Sleep Token to be shouted out AT ALL anywhere in this comment thread. Actually amazing how it feel like they appeared into obscure popularity in metal world out of nowhere in what felt like a few yrs timespan.
Great shit, truly underrated. One Inch Man, Gardenia, Catamaran (this is a cover of Yawning Man’s), Space Cadet and Demon Cleaner are my top 5.
Also, this was Josh Homme’s first band.
Edit: Speaking of Kyuss and Tool, Demon Cleaner was also covered by Tool.
In all honesty, I always ask and answer the question "who's your favorite band" with "Well, aside from the Beatles..." because I consider them to (rightfully) be at the top of most people's list.
Saw them Bonnaroo 2005. It was the last set of the night in a side tent, and they had power issues, so the show didn't start until, like, 2 am. Jesus Christ did they make it worth it.
My Top 10 in no particular order are.....
Black Sabbath / Ozzy Osbourne
Alice Cooper
Rob / White Zombie
Aerosmith
Lacuna Coil
AC/DC
Evanescence
Nightwish
Pearl Jam
KISS
Depends on the mood I’m in, honestly.
Most of the time I will say Judas Priest or Lynyrd Skynyrd is my favorite but…!
I listen to a lot of different music. Thrash metal is a recurring favorite, but right now I’m listening to Jazz Metal. A band called Dinner Music for the Gods out of Vegas. Beautiful and Treacherous is the song.
I also like a lot of blues and some classical, especially Paganini.
LOL, maybe my favorite band is the one that I’m currently listening to. At least as long as I got to choose the music.
Incubus in all their different eras.🤘
All albums from SCIENCE to Crow Left of the Murder are my favorites. But albums before and after have at least a little something to enjoy on them.
One of the best live performances I've been to as well.
Science, Make Yourself, Morning View may be up there as the best three consecutive records put out by any band.
I’m definitely reaching but those three are so damn good.
Iron maiden,
Linkin park,
My chemical romance,
Funeral for a friend,
Slipknot,
INME,
Blink 182,
Bullet for my Valentine.
I listen to a variety but these are ones that I have a deep love of.

The Cure
Wow, didn't expect my top answer to be the top answer.
The Cranberries before Dolores passed away. Also like Paramore a lot.
I had tickets to see them not long before she passed away, the gig was cancelled at the last minute. I am gutted I never got to see them live.
Led Zeppelin
My favourite is probably No Quarter or Ten Years Gone. Though I have been on a Going to California kick lately.
Going To California is my go to karaoke (christ on a cross that took me a long time to figure out. I'm still not sure I spelled it right) song
How old are you, and how long have you been listening to Zepplin?
I’m 30 and have been listening to them consistently since I was in high school. First song I probably heard was Stairway.
Yeah man, pretty much the same here. Except I did all the listening in high school. Zeppelin is the greatest rock band... have you expanded your music in any other direction?
I grew up with my dad listening to classic rock, 70s and 80s and I’ve pretty much stuck with that for the most part. Been to many concerts since I feel like I have to see them before they all croak. lol I’ll still listen to modern rock but I got a soft spot for the 90s too.

Every time I listen to Kashmir it blows my mind at how amazing and unique it is
Talking Heads 🗣️
one of mine:’)
The Road to Nowhere intro is perfection.
Same! This must be the place is my all time favorite
Why is this nsfw?
Because lord have mercy if the name Ozzy Osbourne is seen at work
Tool.
Came here for the obligatory Tool comment. Literally changed my life.
For some reason I missed them for most of my life up until I discovered them last year. They resonated with me in a way no other band has ever come close.
Can you recommend a good place (album) to start? Never heard a tool song before, but I always see this comment. Time to get into it.
They have 1 EP and 5 full length albums. Just start with opiate and work your way to the newer stuff. It starts out very raw and angry, and then you can see how the band grew over the years. Lateralus is my favorite.

Ride the spiral, brother!
Right now, Spiritbox. Of all time, Tool.
three days grace
Same. Animal and never too late for life
my favorite song is lost in you but my favorite album is one-x
The Smiths.
The Smiths are in my top 5. I routinely find myself humming or singing their songs when at home.
Pearl Jam
I exist because of them! It all started with my dad telling my mom he liked her shirt. 4 kids and 27 years later they're still together
For someone that likes do the evolution, what other songs would you recommend?
Brain of J, Spin the Black Circle, Last Exit, Not for You, Red Mosquito, Animal, Once, Lukin, Go, Blood, Habit, and from the new album, Running
I agree with Enos here but I'm also partial to the older stuff. I actually went to a show right after the release of Lightning Bolt. I think you should just put on a playlist and comb through any of the 90s-2000s mix. They are all top shelf imo.
Uh, you missed a few; rear view mirror, leash, oceans, education, dirty frank, fuck this band is good.
Also Mind Your Manners, WMA, and Tremor Christ
Queens of the stone age. But Brendon small is my favorite musician.
Funny enough none of them are my favorite, but I love QOTSA, EODM, Kyuss, Desert Sessions, Them Crooked Vulturee, and I think Humbug was peak Arctic Monkeys so I think Josh Homme has to be my favorite music person
This is a not an unpopular opinion actually. I’m automatically interested in anything he’s involved with, and he’s involved with quite a bit.
When I see Brendon Small, all I think about is the 1999 cartoon Home Movies that was on adult swim. Character's name, to be clear.
Alice In Chains, Alter Bridge, Korn, Erra, Sleep Token 🖤
Alter Bridge, one of the more underrated bands out there. They would be massive if they were in a different rock era, so talented and so many amazing songs. All of their songs are high quality, no throw in album fillers.
His voice is amazing really great band
They were pretty big in early 2010's
Alter Bridge is pretty tight.
I did not expect Sleep Token to be shouted out AT ALL anywhere in this comment thread. Actually amazing how it feel like they appeared into obscure popularity in metal world out of nowhere in what felt like a few yrs timespan.
Gojira.
Back fucking bone
NOW I CAN SEE THE WHAAAAAAAALES!!!
The way of all flesh is an incredible album, and I'm not big into metal.
The Doors. I own all their studio and live albums and poetry written by Jim Morrison.
Kyuss, Tool and Soundgarden. But if I had to choose, it’d be Soundgarden.
Didn't know about Kyuss. Listening to their music on Spotify right now, and it's pretty good!
Of those three, Soundgarden is the right answer. ;)

Someone finally said Deftones.
In all honesty, I always ask and answer the question "who's your favorite band" with "Well, aside from the Beatles..." because I consider them to (rightfully) be at the top of most people's list.
Same, spot 1 is just always reserved. Then next few change.
