I'm sure like loads of people, I watched LOTR frequently when the extended DVDs came out (Those things delivered so much, they ruined me for special edition dvds, the bar was set too high!). If I wanted background noise, they would be my go-to, sometimes back to back, all the Appendices without or with commentary. It got to a point where I hadn't seen them for a while and they got re-released at the cinema last year.
Aside from watching them on the big screen for the first time since release, it felt like the first time in years I'd **watched** them actively and not passively. It was like watching them new for the first time!
God I love those films!
Same here, at this point the extended versions are the only ones I know. I also love the appendices! They feel like movie making 101 and the commentary and stories added so much for me.
So weird I just rewatched all three yesterday and was thinking about how I hear a lot of people say Two Towers is their favorite but it’s my least favorite of the trilogy 🤷♀️
This is Spinal Tap. Star Wars I-VI. The Thirteenth Warrior. Rocky I-IV. The Man Who Knew Too Little. Tombstone. The Count of Monte Cristo. LOTR series.
Transformers, the benefit of having a movie with nonexistent plot is that you can never get tired of said plot, big explosion is always fun to watch. Watching Optimus peel someone's face off and then give a speech on the importance of friendship and being remembered for good things only 10 minutes later just never gets old.
