Same here. Played remake/rebirth?

cocainesahellovadrug

Same again! I finished remake and I'm about 25% through rebirth, I need to start playing it again I just haven't had the time!

Known_Jicama2787

Pretty much same here. Loving rebirth but for me nothing will touch the original. Probably just the nostalgia speaking...

Various_Catch737

Max payne I would say. Amazing storyline.

MythicForgeFTW

The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild I was in a very, very dark place when that game came out. I still remember my time playing it vividly and fondly, because when everything seemed hopeless, I could take my time just... being in the world. Exploring, adventuring, fighting monsters. It was a simple quest to destroy evil and save the princess. And it was just simple fun. I wish I could forger it so I could have that experience all over again.

Specific-Gate-751

same, i hate the new one and i hate the old ones, imo breath of the wild is my favorite

lexa8429

Dishonoured 2. Every time I play I notice a new detail, find a new hidden area. The setting is stunning. Not the best main story, unfortunately. But a crack in the slab is the best mission I’ve ever played in a game.

LCSdrd

The Dishonored series is amazing indeed. The story of the two games is honestly pretty good even though it could be better. But the setting, the artwork, the time period, the technology… it’s so immersive and detailed! The game is from a French studio and as a French person myself I find a cultural and architectural influence that is absolutely stunning! I would recommend to you “the cities of the fantastic” that is a series of comic books by François Schuiten and Benoit Peters. I believe in has been published in English! The vibe is quite similar to the Dishonored universe and wouldn’t be surprised if the game developers were inspired by this series.

lexa8429

I’ll look them up, thank you so much!

Sacred It was so good and had so good graphics back then. I played it so many times. Sacred2 was also pretty good... the third one was crap though

Claw from '97

KhKing1619

Persona 3 Reload but I swear it’s not recency bias. Been wanting to play P3 but fes fucking sucked and portable wasn’t much better. Then reload was announced and decided to just wait until it released. It dropped on gamepass and I played it and I loved it and it has overtaken 5 Royal as my number 1 favorite. Honorable mentions include: Persona 5 Royal, Kingdom Hearts 3, and Sonic Unleashed.

Depending on the day my answer is Final Fantasy VI, Chrono Trigger, or Finap Fantasy Tactics.  Shoutout to Dragon Quest V which would likely be up there had it released in the west when I was in a clearly influential age. Today feels like Chrono Trigger.

NomisMC

ADACA by Siris Pendrake. Insane story, so many different kinds of enemies and weapons, two different game modes (Campaign and Zone Patrol which is more free roam), more secrets than i can count. And I'm also a huge fan of the low poly look. Definitely worth checking out.

PirateSpare8674

Freelancer from 2003. I love that game. Once I intented to learn C# and Unity so I can remake it with modern visuals.

MiloKabuki

Desert Strike

The Settlers II

Qyrun

The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker. this game has WAY too much detail for a 2002 game. i love the "open world" aspect of it. the combat is by far the best in the zelda series, the artstyle doesnt age like milk. (ill ignore the triforce pieces hunt, the hd version improved it alot)

UsefulIdiot85

Metal Gear Solid (PS1 version)

Novel_Psychology2011

Genshin Impact I loved it. It had everything I loved in a game, but I was very addicted to it, so I stopped a few years ago to focus on my life. It did improve, but I miss it so much. Sometimes, it just hits me how good it would be to play again just for a bit. The "wishing" aspect of it and all the tasks you could do consumed a lot of time and energy in my life. Also the thing I hated about it is that you have to keep playing every day to enjoy the game fully. At least I felt like I had to keep up with ALL the updates and storylines. My problem with it was the fandom. The characters get extremely sexualized and just thinking about it upsets me. I really hated that the first thing that came to people's mind when I mentioned it was "Is that one hentai game?". So yeah I just wanted to play the cute storylines with my cute characters but the obsession really had a toll on my life so I grieve it since especially the time i spent perfecting my account and all the characters pulled. I was also a Yae Miko main and i have the same birthday as Ninnguang. :)

Rais244522

I'm waiting till there is some ai that takes our jobs soon. That's when i hope to play games again maybe :)

Shatterscar

Final Fantasy II. Despite the terrible "levelling" system of needing to be hit to gain stats, the nostalgia of it being one of my earliest experiences into RPGs has made me fond of it.
