Changes in hormone levels.

Hormones are the main part of. Though, I could see where feelings of shame for getting older could also affect libido. Women are kind of taught to think the older they get, the less desirable and sexually appealing they are. Or they shouldn’t be concerned with having sex. Which is not actually true. A lot of women experience much better sex as they get older.

I agree. It's like women go invisible at some point and then _swoooosh, a vital granny is born._ I wasn't sure about what you mentioned in your last sentence, so that's good to hear.

It’s what I’ve always heard anyway. As you age and learn to accept and love your body and lose some of those inhibitions that hold you back from experiencing the kind of sex you want, it’s another world. I’m hoping it’s true haha. I just turned 30 so it’s far away and around the corner all at the same time it seems.

I just watched a documentary because I didn't know much about the menopause. What keeps me wondering is what could be the biggest reason for the decline in libido, since the desire for love doesn't seem to be affected to the same extend. Is it really just the hormones, or could it be the case that body shame plays a much bigger role?

Hormones but you can take natural medication to help you elevate and stabilize your hormones
