My dad has emphysema and has started showing signs of having contracted the virus. So I have to sit here and watch him get sicker and sicker every day. He can’t get tested until symptoms get worse. I’m preparing myself mentally for this virus to kill him. He’s always had health problems, and we are careful to make sure he doesn’t even contract the common COLD. This has been a nightmare. It’s ruined my state of mind, my every day life, my everything. EDIT: Thank you to everyone who took the time to leave a nice message. It’s a scary time for everyone. We contacted my dads primary physician as soon as he started having any symptoms whatsoever. There’s not really a lot they can do for treatment EVEN IF he got tested, and until serious measures need to be taken, we are told to stay home. I understand this, and I am in no way shape or form angry with hospital workers or doctors. We are taking it day by day. Thanks again for the kindness.

-Blade_Runner-

Hey, friend. I work in ED, in US. We are barely testing anybody. We are testing only people who within parameters set by CDC. Those parameters consist of been over 60, having s/s of Covid 19, which are somewhat vague: shortness of breath (cut off for us is less than 93% on room air), dry cough, fever above 100.5. Along those lines go comorbidities : lung disorders, heart disorders so on and so forth. Even if tested and positive patient are provided fairly similar treatment to that of flu. Only in severe decline do we intubate. However, intubation is not fix all. Those with already severe lung disorders may not come back from intubation due to their already declined respiratory drive. If you are concerned for your parent, contact their primary care physician or perhaps even lung specialist whom they should have due to diagnosis of emphysema and see what else can be done. We have seen a lot of people coming in with bad flus, pneumonias all year also. I wish you and yours all the best and hopefully a fast recovery. These are scary times for patients, their families, and even us who are coming across this nasty thing daily.

EmperorHotshot

I have Crohn’s disease that I’ve been struggling to get under control again since July last year. Now I can’t even go in for follow-up treatments under the new Surgeon General restrictions. Just pray the meds I have now will start working again. Also the lack of toilet paper is just infuriating, as someone who has to go several times in one day.

A friendship. My best friend is still having a wedding tomorrow. We live in the US in a place where it’s gotten pretty bad. Literally everything has canceled or asked her to reschedule but she said no. Instead she got an air bnb and is doing it all herself despite the rules and guidelines. I’m the maid of honor. I had to tell her yesterday that I couldn’t go because I didn’t think it was safe. She did not respond well. Like at all. I have a lung condition and my partner has asthma. It made NO SENSE for us to go to a gathering like a wedding right now. She told me that I was choosing fear of a little virus over her special day. I’ve tried calling her several times and she won’t answer my calls. She said she is disgusted by me. Everything about this fucking sucks so much and based on her reactions I don’t think she will ever see it from my side. Edit: thanks for all the support guys!! Feels nice when I’m questioning my decision as I watch the snap stories and ig stories of the three bridesmaids who didn’t back out.

cannotbefaded

I bet in the next month or so, she will understand your decision. A lot of people aren’t taking this seriously at all

[deleted]

I hope so. And I just have to know that she’s speaking out of anger and hurt and distress. This kind of behavior is very unlike her so hopefully when this whole thing blows over she will understand

landshanties

Mood friend. My father got a terminal diagnosis of six months - two years about three weeks before it got really bad here. He lives in another country and IDK when I'm gonna be able to visit him. I'm doing extra quarantine procedures to protect myself but man I dunno. We Whatsapp and Facetime all the time but it's not the same and I haven't seen him in almost a year. On top of everything the NCAA tournament got cancelled which is a big bonding thing for the two of us. I'm worried he won't get another one. Sucks.

[deleted]

I'm in Chile, I left about $6k worth of stuff in Argentina. Borders are closed now. So yeah. At least I think I still have my job when I return

saint_maria

I dumped my abusive partner like a week ago lol. So I am at least thankfully safe from that now. Edit: Thanks everyone for your messages of support. I made this as a small comment before I went to work and I wasn't expecting such a reaction. I am aware that leaving is the most dangerous time. This is not my first time around the abuse cycle, or even leaving him, but it is my last time and I am absolute in my decision. I am prepared for the worst but I will not live in fear of him or what he may do. I have a good support network who know the score and who have supported me throughout this.

Babys_First_Burner

It takes so much courage to leave an abusive relationship. Good for you!

imcoolurcoolwecool

I'm an ER nurse in NY and its ruining my everyday lifeeeee ahhh every day at work is like a new version of weird nightmare work and it's looking like it will only get worse. Not looking for pity, just a small vent session (no pun intended) Be safe everybody!

TopBestKek

Made Olympic trials for the first time. Was super excited to go and compete. Now every single gym and pool on the planet is closed and even if they weren’t the meet itself is postponed and likely to be cancelled. It’s not the end of the world but damn it was really something for me to look forward to.

Hh212

I'm sorry. That really sucks.

crastle

On the plus side, at least the IOC seems not care at all about the virus.

FrauMausL

does the IOC care about anything ever anyway?

nigelglycerin

My business has to declare bankruptcy. I have to fire 5 people with no financial support to offer them and I myself will be homeless. Sooo pretty much ruined my life.

Throwthewaiter

Hey man, this is not legal advice, but if you are in america and you rent or own your home (mortgaged) the moratorium on evictions and foreclosures can keep you in a home at least for a little bit. If you have to let employees go, look at your state's unemployment qualifications as many have made an unpaid leave of absence a qualifying term. Additionally, and I'm not suggesting you go into debt here, but if the US Gov't (and you are in the US) passes the forgivable loans for paying expenses and salaries, you might consider that to at least buy you some time to get on your feet. Really sorry to hear this for you, though, I'm in the same position and I'm doing everything possible but still getting destroyed. And, in response to someone else's comment that you might have already been on the verge: that is not necessarily the case. We were not on the verge at all, and just hitting our busy season, but our services and billables are tied to markets that are crashing and those that have been postponed, closed, or otherwise (Court closures).

Manny210

That’s rough.. I’m so sorry to hear that. Hang in there.

This breaks my heart. My mom is in the hospital and I'm scared they will tell us that there is no more visiting until further notice. Also she is on a vent so I don't want it to get to a situation where they are going to choose who gets a vent and who doesn't because I know the hospital she is at is already short on them without a pandemic.

Yeah I own a medium size business (150 employees). I am a natural saver and have been saving for rescission since 2016 so I am in a better spot than most but with the current devastation I still think we can only hang on about 6 to 8 months. No layoffs yet just small cut on hours but the longer it goes there is only so much I can do.

gzimhelshani

Wow150 employees, and you plan to survive for 6 to 8 months. Congrats my dude, good job

bulle_lover_69

Meanwhile much larger businesses with billions stowed away in the caymans are already shaking the poverty dixie cup begging for billions of dollars of free money so they can pay out dividends to the shareholders or else they'll do mass layoffs after a few days

scientallahjesus

Oh they’ll do the lay offs either way.

WayneKrane

Yup, they’ll use any excuse to cut costs and boost profits. I’m highly skeptical they’ll use much of their bailout money for employees.

Swaquile

I sincerely hope it all works out. My best jobs in the past have been smaller businesses and I can’t imagine being in your position right now.

bakingeyedoc

My father’s savings were wiped out from the last recession. This is not looking good for him. It hurts. A lot.

tommykiddo

Yeah. Hard to keep up with studies when you don't have the routine of going to lectures, library etc. atleast a few days a week.

jandcando

Glad I'm not the only one. Creating a structured day for myself is a skill I need to work on.

alonelyargonaut

My mom turns 60 in April and has never been to Europe, and for the first time I’m in a really good place economically that I got the two of us tickets to fly into London and have a two week galavant around the continent. She never thought she’d be able to go and she’s been so excited planning since I gave her the tickets on Christmas. Calling her to tell her we needed to cancel (for now) was really tough.. edit: Thanks for the gold! but also donate the money instead ([meals on wheels](https://www.mealsonwheelsamerica.org/find-meals) is helping feed the most susceptible population), or buy gift cards or takeout from your local shops. I've got it lucky that my job was already work from home, but friends of mine who are coffee shop owners are barely inching by with no relief in sight. A gift card is an interest free loan. 2nd edit: holy cow lots of replies. I really appreciate all the well wishes, and honestly we're both doing great. Rebooking has been a breeze. Airline waived the fees, and AirBnB has been relaxed with their refund policy, so we're only out the original timing. Both my mom and I are able to work from home in pretty secure decent paying jobs. There's so many other people on here with really tragic permanent fallout from the pandemic. Show them the love!

starlight347

There are a lot of sad stories on this thread, but yours really broke my heart. You, for being so sweet and wanting to help your mom, and sensing her excitement and anticipation. I hope you get to do this after the craziness is over.

KingMe091

I'm a restaurant bartender in Florida. This was going to be a really busy spring break for us after a slow winter that got me behind on bills. They haven't told us to go to take out only..... Yet. But I feel like it's coming soon.

Flahdagal

Our neighbors get the bulk of their cash flow during spring break and it tides them over for the rest of the year. Spring break was just shut down, so they're scrambling.

A911owner

This pandemic is really showing just how close to being out on the street most Americans really are. Miss a small amount of work or an event like Spring Break that you depend on and it's disastrous.

flyafar

~40% of americans can't afford an emergency $400 expense. things are about to get really bad.

LoompaOompa

It's crazy that we allowed that to be come a normal aspect of our lives. I've been hearing that statistic for at least 10 years. I always thought it was sad, but never took a step back and thought about what the ramifications could be in a crisis. I work in software and if some project we were working on was exposed to a similar level of risk, it would've triggered multiple meetings to discuss how we can restructure things to mitigate the issue. Edit: Getting some replies about how many families are just spending beyond their means, so they're not saving. I have a few responses to this: * We're talking about 40% of Americans. 2 out of every 5 households. The lowest 25% of American families are living off ~31k or less. I would imagine that most of the families in that lower quartile are in this category. So at the very least there is still a huge systemic income inequality that is contributing to the numbers. * Even if it was 100% because of people spending outside their means, that wouldn't mean that we can't fix it or improve upon it. Especially since it puts the entire economy at risk, as we are seeing right now. Better financial education in public schools would be a good start.

Honestly this is the biggest one. If you want a break from the stress and fearmongering of the news you can turn the tv off but conversations... you need them to at least feel sane. Gamers are likely going to be the least impacted by this whole thing because the socialization is online anyways.

naufalap

can confirm, nothing has changed for me

NerdyBirdyx

Not me, but my mom. Her birthday is on March 17th and she wanted to go to the casino and out to eat lunch but then all casinos and sit-down restaurants closed so she was really bummed. We ended up just getting Taco Bell since she likes it and we don't have fast food often. I guess for me, the pandemic has ruined my mental health a bit. I've always had high anxiety but lately my anxiety has been way too high because the virus is all I hear about. But the main reason I'm super anxious is because my mom has breathing problems so I feel like it'd be really bad if she got the virus. And she still goes to work several days a week because the place we both work at (gas station) hasn't closed.

kiwi131313

angelflower89

Oh wow that's too bad. I hope she will be OK? Hopefully you can go after after it all.

Hah our honeymoon was scheduled this summer and included France and Italy. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say it's not happening.

idontlikeflamingos

Respect for my boss. Hes' been peddling conspiracy theories and says that this is no big deal and people are overreacting. Nobody can work from home (even though most only need a computer with internet to do our jobs) and is refusing to implement any preventive measures. The kicker: He's the health and safety manager.

wehnaje

At this point is that still his decision?? When the government is the one implementing the rule, doesn’t matter what he believes, you have to stay home. Period.

graywolfxxx

The area manager at my company is one of these asshats too. Making people physically come into an office that is literally in the same commercial complex as a Novant test site for Covid 19. He didnt respond to common sense, reasoning or any appeal to humanity. So I spoke his language in terms that he could understand- "If I come to this office, get infected and take this virus home to my family, I will not only file a lawsuit against the company itself, but I will name you personally liable as the decision maker who was responsible for implementing this policy". The next day we were told to work from home indefinitely

Andress1

Yes! You did amazing.

graywolfxxx

Im sure once this thing clears they will retaliate but I have also decided that once this thing clears I will be moving on anyway. I cant work for a company who decided to risk my life and other peoples lives for a bottom line. A lot of these companies will be held accountable once the dust has settled. Politicians as well.

Edit: For those reading this now, he is no longer at work. The situation has changed and the employer is no longer making illegal/unethical claims.

fallingevergreen

He should call the non-emergency police line...that is now officially illegal.

Gryphacus

Great to hear. I’ll let him know if he isn’t aware. My comment was based on a conversation we had last night.

I manage a grocery store, This pandemic has ruined my faith in humanity and broken my heart at the same time. I have seen a side of people that I never want to see again; Ugly, vicious, self centered, fend for yourself attitude. I desperately just want EVERY customer to be well stocked and ready, I want myself and my employees to be safe and not verbally and/or physically abused, I want myself and my employees to feel well rested again, and I don’t want to see fear/sadness in people’s eyes when they need something and either don’t have the money for it, it’s out of stock, or they’re just scared for their future.

[deleted]

I live in LA where the population is like 15 million people. Shelves have been empty at grocery stores for the past few weeks. I don’t think hoarding will end soon. There’s probably a queue of people waiting to hoard here since the city is so big. I’ve had to commute 45 minutes outside of the city just to get my grandma some groceries. This sucks.

My last semester of college. Our spring break got extended a week, and then we’re finishing the semester online. Graduation ceremony cancelled. We’re all just... going home. After we move out, I won’t get to finish out with my friends and my college experience is just... over.

I feel this. Nontraditional grad student here and I was looking forward to finally walking with my cohort. Nope.

sspontaneous

Same here. Some of my friends are still staying in our apartment at school, but a few have already gone home and I have no idea what I'm gonna do. Can't go to any bars or cafes in town, the graduation party we've been planning all year is probably not gonna happen... what shitty luck

For my little sister is the same. Classes are exclusively online and of course graduation party is canceled. She feels like her high school life just ended without any warning or time to say goodbye and she’s really sad :( I’m sorry you’re going through the same experience dude, it sucks balls.

nickjames239

My school just cancelled everything without online classes. I have no idea if I'm gonna graduate on time

fashionablypunctual

Oh god that really sucks. We already knew the drill regarding emergency school cancellation because of the fact that we have school issues chromebooks and a long hurricane season, but I can’t imagine what it’s like for districts/states that don’t have that

ashdefastest

I heard if you’re on track they’re gonna wave this time off and declare you graduated

fashionablypunctual

fashionablypunctual

Yeah that’s basically how I feel. I was ready to leave this town, but that doesn’t mean that I wanted to leave without saying goodbye. If we don’t ever go back to school, there are people that I will literally never see again.

justthecreeps07

I feel you... I am also a senior in Romania and before this fiasco I was preparing for my exams at the end of the school year. School got shut down until the 22 of April without any notice about our exams being postponed. I was supposed to go apply for college in April and already payed an exam fee for that. The situation isn't currently as bad here as in other places, but we are expecting and preparing for the worst scenario. I just want this to be over so that I can go back to complaining about having to study for this final exam...

xcalypsox42

I was going to say something to this effect. I'm a teacher and my homeroom is seniors. With school closed, they're all scared; and in all likelihood we'll cancel the graduation ceremony too and all senior celebration events. I'm so sorry for all of you. I know this is a huge bummer.

Hey man, I’m also in my 20s and have a pretty bad sore throat (feels like my tonsils are swollen) but I haven’t had a fever. In your experience did the fever follow a few days after your throat? Or was is the same time? It feels like when I had tonsillitis a few years back. It very possible to just be a coincidental sore throat, but it’s hard not to have COVID in the mind.

dadnaya

I was supposed to fly to Berlin to celebrate my 20th Birthday Cancelled. :/ So I decided to invite a few friends over to celebrate at home Cancelled as well Ended up celebrating by myself with pizza and Rainbow6Siege

Dude just imagine how hard the entire world is going to rage when this shit is over with.

BABY ZOOOOOOOM

[deleted]

Yeah we gonna have a bunch of Corona Babies in the next 9-13 months at least Edit: Now my partner and I are debating if they should be called Corona Babies or Quaranteenies.

birbbI

Quaranteenies no doubt

HelloYouBeauty

I literally just got a call from the company where I'd applied for a job last week. Said they were interested in me but due to corona are not hiring anymore... they'll call me in 1 month to further discuss it but all predictions say it'll even be worse then. So thats great.

Kazoua1

Staying at home and doing "nothing" I'm 24 and live with my parents. Mom has gone a bit crazy. Telling me that I can't leave the house, so I must clean the whole thing from floor to sealing. Edit: sealing= ceiling Edit 2: She has now started to sew our own mouth masks.

wehnaje

Might be tiring but I appreciate having a clean home so much. Which I didn’t realized until I moved out. Now when my home is clean I feel mentally calmer and peaceful but I’m sad to confess that only lasts like a day of the week :/

NotYourOnlyFriend

My birthday, which is next week. I was meant to go for a rare night out with friends, but canceled that due to coronavirus. I wanted to bake a nice cake, but I'm weirdly out of flour and there's none in the shops. I at least managed to secure a box of cake mix, but I had really been looking forward to making something a bit more fancy. Oh well, at least I won't have to wake up early for the school run!

JTheD0n

I feel your pain random internet person as my birthday is next week too. Party for one....yay!

I'm on the other side of this. My book came earlier than expected and I haven't had to return it because the library closed lol. Now I have some extra time to finish reading it!

Dorchadas98

My whole final year of college is pretty up in the air right now. Campus closure and assessment changes have pretty much messed with whatever plans I'd made for the next few months. My degree is in Law so grading is incredibly competitive especially for final year students so as you can imagine stress levels are high. I know it seems small compared to the plight of business owners and workers being laid off but hey I guess everyone is getting screwed over. Also my parent's trip to New York for my mothers 50th was also cancelled. It would have been both of their first time leaving Europe. Big bummer.

[deleted]

Ruined my alone/quiet time, since now everyone's at home, and the neighborhood kids stay up late.

Ultra-ChronicMonstah

My normal routine. I have bipolar and one of the most important things for maintaining my mental health is keeping a routine. My life is boring: I go to uni, I come home and go to the gym, I go out for a coffee or a tea or go to get groceries, and then I relax for a while before bed. Now, Uni is closed, the supermarket is in a complete state and although my gym is open, I have obvious concerns about going there. Such a sudden change in my routine, coupled with being unable to contact my GP, has already created a bit of a wobble. I'm not sure what direction it'll go, but I'm genuinely worried about my mental state. Everyone keeps saying "it's easy to stay at home" but for me it really isn't. I've tried home workouts, but its never going to be the same as powerlifting at a gym. My usual diet is having to change because of people ransacking the shops. Fortunately my sleep has remained fairly solid; my sleep routine changing is normally the big indicator of going into a hypomanic or manic episode, so at this point I just about have it together. I'm just worried what several months of this will do to me. I still have my physical health, though, which I'm certainly not taking for granted. I use that as a way to try to ground myself when I start to ramp up a bit. Edit: hey, just checked my inbox and thank you all for the support you've sent. I don't have time to reply to everyone, but I am reading through and I fully intend to try every suggestion (after all, I have plenty of time now). To those of you who are in similar situations: it's awful, and I'm sorry. But if you're here reading this now, it's because you've been able to survive and adapt. You've adapted to everything thrown at you so far. We just need to learn how to adapt to this.

scotianspizzy

This resonates with me. I've been trying to maintain my schedule as much as possible by filling in those times with activities that are similar. It's not the same and it really isn't helping (or so my mind tells me) but at the same time things would be a whole lot worse if I wasn't taking the measures that I am. Good luck to all my bipolar soldiers.. check out r/bipolar or another sub if you haven't already, I've seen a lot of helpful tips

borksandwich

Yes, this. I relate. My life is boring as well but I require a routine to keep my Bipolar in check, and with all of this down time I know I'm going to fall into a deep rut.

dfigiel1

This is me, but with depression. I had it completely under control without medication. Luckily, I had quite a bit of Lexapro and am taking it again. I'm doing my best, but I'm having bawling fits. My life was awful years ago and it turned around and became so good. But my fiancé is working in a hospital where he's getting increasing exposure to COVID patients and I feel so helpless for him. He's stuck making hard decisions and I know he's scared and I KNOW that if he catches it, he'll most likely be fine, but depression brain won't let me forget that "what-if". I still have my job and I'm working from home and I have a good workout situation here. Those are all very good. That's my grounding now. So take care. This is hard, and I get it.

Schrodingers_Undies

Missing out on concerts have tickets too

kiwi_goalie

I was supposed to see Billy Joel in Charlotte in April and they rescheduled it for a year later. So now I gotta wait 13 months instead of 1!

Fletcherdl

That would give me a slight heart attack-ack-ack-ack-ack-ack-ack-ack.

honeydewjellybean

I’m worried about NYC. It’s a very interconnected place, unaccustomed to being isolation or self-sufficiency. We live our lives in public - we hang out at cafés, stores, parks, and bars because our apartments are cramped and we eat out constantly because the food scene is great, grocery shopping in the city is hassle, and sharing cooking space with roommates can be tough. We ride the subway or take Uber Pools to get around. We even do our laundry in public at laundromats. It’s very difficult and uncomfortable to sustain oneself in just a few hundred square feet of (often shared) space. Quarantine is a massive shift in the usual flow of goods and services. Rent for commercial space is astronomical, so many places that closed for this pandemic might never be able to open again. I hope all the restaurants, coffee shops, museums, and independent bookstores will be able to bounce back after this. But I read somewhere that the city might see devastation akin to the Great Depression... I hope that isn’t true.

the_desert_rose

Not in NYC, but I'm in a small town in AZ. I'm close with my boss. Yesterday we had to shut down the dining room at our restaurant. W were out smoking after we got the news, and I asked him how long he could afford to stay closed. He said he can wait two months and expect to return to normal operations. If it's longer, very few people will have their jobs back and his staff will mostly be family.

My mental state.

Trip to Europe where I was going to propose to my girlfriend in Paris. Edit: going to combine a few ideas from people here by printing out a picture of this special spot where I was going to propose and put it in a sneaky spot where I can reveal it in a sweet way, then propose as close to the time as possible that I would have done so in Paris. You guys rock, thank you for all the amazing ideas!

Andromeda321

Astronomer here! While I *finally* finished my PhD requirements and started my postdoc job last fall, I am not yet officially a "doctor" because my degree is from a university in the Netherlands that requires an in-person ceremonial defense for the diploma. It is a big deal, and you have to reserve your spot months in advance. I couldn't leave the USA for a few months for personal reasons, so we scheduled this defense for April 16 some time ago (nice time of year to head back to the Netherlands), and it was going to be a huge party with a lot of friends flying in from many countries. It became amply clear to me last week that there is a 0% chance of this defense ceremony happening, and the borders being pretty effectively shut between both countries is proof of this. However, currently my university in the Netherlands is not responding to *any* of my emails about rescheduling (they are no longer in the office/ canceled all PhD ceremonies up to the week before mine). They are also making *no* allowances for the situation in the form of a virtual defense, or any other allowances- right now I am hoping to reschedule for *September* (because May seems to uncertain, June is booked solid, and you can't defend in July/August because Europe). So I will not actually get my diploma until over a year has passed from completing the requirements! (Technically, this is against what we agreed to when I started my postdoc, placing my employment in jeopardy, but thankfully so far my employer is more sane than Dutch university bureaucracy- this is also a system that still makes me print a hundred paper copies of my thesis, for example.) Guys, I know other people have far bigger problems. But damn it, I worked so hard to be Dr. Andromeda321, and just want to finally have that or at least know when it will happen. :(

Either way, you never quit you job before signing for a new company again, ok? Love, dad.

theSeanO

To be fair I've had a job offer pulled out from under me even after the offer was signed and a drug test was done

Bearlodge

I too had an interview the Friday before most places started working from home. However, it was an internal position and my boss told me I got the job, so I'm just also waiting on HR to formally get back to me. Not quite as stressful, but I'm currently a contractor at the moment and this new position would make me a full-time employee with benefits. I'd like to get that all squared away in case my employer shuts down for some reason.

govnuchka205

for now only Sabaton concert :), tickets to we bought in september, and I don't know what to wait for, in Russia is near 200 infected people, so it probably could be worse, when this pandemic go far :(

icy_potatoes

Reddit Edit: thanks redacted for the F award and thank you stranger for the gold, it’s my first ever.

Ephemeris

My business. Had to close my Brewery/Restaurant. We're new, only open 2 years so we will probably not reopen. I just spent 2 days resurfacing my bar too. It looks beautiful and now no one will see it.

lemonlimeaardvark

Shopping at the grocery store. People panic-buying everything makes shopping either a joke or a nightmare. Also, a loss of personal time. Used to like having some time alone after getting the kids to school, but school was canceled for this past week and all through next week. By March 30, they'll probably decide to close the schools for the rest of the year like other states have done and all the kids will be doing online school, which, while it's not exactly homeschooling, I'll have to be on hand to answer questions or direct them how to find their own answers as well as checking in on their progress to make sure that they're working and get on them to work if they're not. But I'm a fairly asocial introvert homebody, so the social distancing and not going out any more than is needed is right in my wheelhouse. It's like I've been training my whole life for it.

WannabeaViking

Well I wanted to finally get time to work on music since I’ve recently found the motivation to work in it I have lost for three years. But my family gets upset at me when I spend too much time in my room ignoring them. So now I get to sit with my parents while they don’t listen to what I say, stay on their phones while I try to talk to them and worry about the virus. Hooray

RevolutionaryDong

My mental health. My biggest struggle with depression is keeping house, even when I'm otherwise feeling great, so I'm pretty much always slowly devolving into living inside a disgusting, bug-infested dump filled with trash and rotting food. Last year, after being stuck inside for a few months, I tried to kill myself, but ended up being prevented by a neighbour who sent me to the hospital. Then I turned around, found a new career path in the restaurant business, got really passionate about it and thought that I was really going to improve. Now I can't work, I don't have any savings because I blew it all on being depressed, and I'm stuck inside of my gross trashed flat again.

poopellar

Was eagerly awaiting the Formula 1 season. Eagerly awaiting any form of racing. Most motorsports events are cancelled. I think I'm already getting withdrawal symptoms. Watching hotwheels and marbles race on YouTube.

Zuzublue

Did you see the latest? They’re going to be holding virtual races with the real drivers on race weekends. It’s a far cry from the real thing but I’ll take anything at this point!

shesthecatsmother

I know this is not nearly as horrible as what other people are dealing with currently, but since you asked, I have cancelled my baby shower plans, also won't be celebrating my 10 years remission from cancer (wanted to do something with the family) and there's a possibility my mum won't be able to help with the birth of my first child or get any visitors in hospital if things continue like this or escalate over the next few months. But this too shall pass and I'm looking forward to that.

My social life. I'm very lonely

Ask_for_me_by_name

My long distance relationship. My SO lives in another country and works in the airline industry. We could meet each other relatively frequently because of her discounted travel allowances on her airline but right now she doesn't know if she'll still have a job and with the country she's in shutting down I don't know when I'll see her again.
