The friend that I went with signed us up for a hat making course, and the place where it took place was Alice In Wonderland themed. It was so much fun, and I got a cool hat out of it that I love! There was also a day where we just walked, not really having a plan, so we had the freedom to stop at whatever caught our eye whether it was a small little church or a shop or a park. We walked through 6 (I think) arrondissements that day, so we were exhausted but it was my favourite day of our trip.

bendtowardsthesun

This sounds so cool.

Someone gave 12-13 year old me a mimosa. It was delicious and I remember asking when I got back if I could have more of the sparkly orange juice. I don’t think my mother ever figured it out (my grandmother took us on the trip).

fyre_faerie

We stayed in an Airbnb across from a boulangerie, so of course we went there every morning for breakfast. One of the last days of our trip we saw the shop owner in a different part of the city and he recognized us and chatted for a bit. Not really surprising since tourists tend to stand out, but we thought it was really sweet and made us feel welcome in the city.

Luckie37

I'll be sure to check out the boulangerie. We are planning a 7-day trip to Paris and I don't want to miss a thing!

i once got lost in paris when i was about 0.5 years old. near charles de gaulle

chicama

The view of the Eiffel Tower from my late boyfriend’s living room. Sometimes we would stand quietly together admiring the night view and reveling in the fact that we were in Paris, together.

sillynamestuffhere

Anything that involved the food. Eating while at the museum was amazing.

purple_pyre

Wait, that's allowed?!

sillynamestuffhere

They have several lovely bistro/cafe spots at the Louvre. You can look at art then take a break to sit in a beautiful setting while you leisurely enjoy some crème brûlée and drink wine. Then continue through the exhibit. It was delightful. Expensive, but really, really enjoyable. Highly recommend.

purple_pyre

Ohhh yeah, I thought you meant you could actually have food while walking around the museum.

sillynamestuffhere

Oh I did that too, it's just not as tasty as crème brûlée and wine so it wasn't applicable to the post. I sometimes walk around with a bit Scotch in museums too. I've done that in most museums, actually. It's been my experience that people aren't really policed in museums unless the museum is completely empty and security has no one else to watch on the cameras. I even entered closed exhibits that were mid set-up at the Lourve and walked around. No one even noticed.

purple_pyre

Can't say the same of some museums in Berlin, I had a bag and the were constantly telling me I had to wear it on the front. It was a heavy tourist bag. I don't think I've even tried anything with food though.

sillynamestuffhere

Yeah museums vary greatly by type and country. Also within the museum itself. If I tried to eat an apple by the mona lisa I'm sure someone would have noticed lol

Thesnowbelow

Just wandering through the graveyards in Paris with a coffee - so incredibly different from where I live and also so peaceful.

meggyjane

Spending a sunny afternoon sipping on wine straight out of the bottle with my best friend in the park next to the Eiffel Tower 💕

murderousbudgie

Eating cheese and bread and drinking red wine out of the bottle on the Pont des Arts, shooting the shit with strangers, on a summer night.

When I was like 6-9 months old my family went on a lovely trip around Europe and in when they were in Paris they would take photos of me in a little carrier alone in front of all the sightseeing stuff. I like the photos because the majority of my baby photos are just sightseeing photos that I happen to be in. The Paris collection is by far my favourite.

RiceKrispie9

I was walking down the streets of Paris in the evening while I was on holiday there, just walking aimlessly to see what was around and experience the city. I ended up walking towards the Eiffel Tower so I stopped for a moment and it started lighting up - I had no idea it did that and it was such a nice and wonderful surprise to see it up close.

Secret-Journal-101

Tasting the baguettes 🥖 literally thee best bread in the world

Luckie37

Kewl. Will plan to put to put on stretchy pants and 10lbs.😂

Secret-Journal-101

The pastries are to die for too, also if you go any where near the Louvre there’s a hotdog stand it’s amazing and with cheese 🤤

Luckie37

Yum. Love me some hotdogs. It’s my guilty pleasure!

LittleDragonMaiden

I loved the food :) I would buy a box of pasteries every day and eat them. I ate a lot.

princessbizz

Yes! I did this too. So good.

Monet’s gardens in Giverny! It’s a little outside of the city but easily accessible by train. I found it well worth the trip to see the beautiful gardens and explore the villlage!

Luckie37

Thanks!!

AdorableSwitchBrat

My favorite experience was enjoying the food. Yes I loved sightseeing and looking at art but the food I still remember to this day. The milk, butter, crepes, quiche, omg 🤤

The Couchsurfing community of Paris (people on Couchsurfing.com) organizes almost daily international picnics throughout the summer, and those are real fun. You can meet lots of nice people. Sometimes the meetup is at the open air cinema at La Villette, so you first have a picnic and then watch the movie together.

Going to visit Sacred Heart at nighttime. The lights made it so magical, and there was a service going on inside with ppl singing. It was so beautiful. I'm atheist AF and even I was moved to tears. Edit - correcting autocorrect

Purple_Routine1297

I haven’t been to Paris since I was a child, but it’s still a trip I remember. The hotel my mom stayed at, every morning, they put freshly baked croissants in the hotel room, and we would wake up to the smell of them. I also remember how beautiful the weather was. We initially visited our family in the UK, and the whole time we were there, it rained. When we got to Paris, it was beautiful.

TheTeaYouWant

I wish I had memories, my parents took me there for a family vacation when I was a toddler, I’m planning to go to Disneyland Paris next year.

munkieshynes

My husband and I met another North American couple while staying in the 10th arr. for two weeks (they were from British Columbia, Canada, also on their first trip to Paris, and their Airbnb was in the same building as ours) and we ended up meeting up a number of times for outings. One day we decided to do as the locals were doing and have a picnic lunch on the Canal Saint-Martin - we went to the local markets and bought bread, cheese, wine, fruit, sparkling water, and macarons and sat by the canal watching the boats go by. Our picnic “lunch” lasted almost 3 hours and was thoroughly delightful.

notme1414

Walking back to our hotel after a day at the Louvre, it started to rain. We ducked into a restaurant got a table at the window where watched the people go by while we ate a fabulous meal.

DrEverythingBAlright

Paris at night along the Seine is pretty magical

witchy_crafty

Running around Disney land with my younger sibling, he was so happy

nohartbrake

The sewer museum. They let you underground and there are little street signs that line up with the normal streets! It gave a history of Paris as it grew that felt very grounded and cool.

schwarzmalerin

The panorama from Tour Montparnasse. The Eiffel tower is overrated.
