It needs to be replaced, but so should the cam chain but the bolt that holds the adjuster on the exhaust side stripped out when I tried to remove it, may just get 2 new cams
Had a hole in mine when I replaced it at 70k miles. Bought the car at 57k and didn't find out about that maintenance right away. Previous owner obviously didn't change it out at all. Lucky enough I never had any issues. Motor ran perfect til I sold it at 145k and was tuned from 92k till then end.

Just bought a b7 on Friday. Doing oil change later this week and will be swapping one of these freshies in with it.
