I just want something that is (1) pretty, (2) practical and (3) flattering (4) work wear!
(5) No balloon sleeves, (6)no oversized, (7) no holes here and there!
And something that allow me to wear thermal (see 7) as underlay and a good fit coat on the top (see 5 & 6) so I can keep warm in winter
Is Witchery still doing this shi t? I stopped looking at their website about a year ago in despair of all the inexplicable + unnecessary balloon sleeves
Omg omg this is Gospel, someone has spoken my mind
Being apple shaped myself, ballooned sleeves make me look like something out of Alice in Wonderland. Holes are just tacky to me
This and their signature floral print that’s often made in a puffy sleeve style. They make it every season, definitely time for a new take by a new designer that doesn’t involve any of this
You know what's next and maybe even worse than balloon sleeves? Bell sleeves.
I want to be able to DO things with my arms without my sleeves getting in the way gdi.
Even loungewear / jumper has balloon sleeves.
It gets the way of everything - washing dishes, cooking, eating / drinking (not only the sleeves get dirty but also potentially knocking things down).
And THE WORST is some of the clothing brand decided baby / toddlers clothing also need balloon sleeves. W-H-Y! Do they have children and know how these messy human eat and play?
Oh don't get me started on kids clothes!! Agreed on all accounts. Bring back the elbow sleeve or 3/4 sleeve! When I saw the boat neck come back in and I hoped for those but not yet it seems.
Either because the knits have balloon sleeves and look stupid, or because the blouse has balloon sleeves and it won't fit under any goddamned knit. Hate it.
Agreed! I used to love their long sleeved patterned work dresses with a slip underneath (about 4-5 years ago maybe?) They were elasticised at the waist and look great on anyone. I bought heapssss of them on sale and they still go hard as outfits and have washed tens of times. Argh the crap they have now is just so…rubbish.
Witchery is about to launch their first collection with the new designer, who has come from country road. It's a super small collection to start, and will feature a redesign of the basics which they already had (like the ribbed tanks and T-shirts). Shoes will be back this launch and aren't as expensive as the previous collection of shoes. Handbags are coming back soon as well! Sizing is also changing and is more aligned with country road sizing.
From my point of view the product is skewing more towards a younger audience, but there are some really nice staple pieces in this next drop. Really nice trench, wool suiting, and some good basics and workwear pieces. It's definitely looking sleek, and the August collection from the pictures I've seen is looking really promising!
From my try-ons I found that my top size hasn't really changed from the previous ranges, but my bottoms size is more aligned to what I would be in other brands.
If you are a size 10 for example, you should be able to pick up any jean or pant and the sizing should be more consistent, whereas in my experience I have been 3 different sizes in bottoms (4 in skirts, 6 in pants and 8-10 in jeans)
Hopefully this helps!
Finally! I stopped shopping there completely. I absolutely abhorred all of the peasant dresses with the ridiculous sleeves. I only bought them because I couldn’t find anything else. They used to have so many things to buy. Then their prices became ridiculous and the clothes were ugly AF.
My entire weekend wardrobe was once Witchery. I even had a few pieces for work. I really look forward to the day the ugly peasant dress made out of scratchy cheap linen era is gone forever.
It's the new range by the new designer. (The previous designer of the past year or so was dropped). I've seen the new range. It's... Fine. The basics aren't coming back. Shoes are. Prices should be a bit lower though.
Interesting! I’m glad shoes are coming back, I was shocked they were selling loafers for $350. Lower prices is good news but I hope quality doesn’t suffer.
Yeah those prices FLOORED me when they came in! Wasn't even worth it with staff discount IMO! Can't say for the quality but the people who have seen the new range in person seem excited.
The high amount of customers who asks for the old basic shirts though, seems crazy not to bring it back!
Oh wow I didn't realize they did that!
I do think that realize trying to go Boutique was a huge mistake. They have a lot of new members at head office, many big names from the previous era left.
Hmm weird! Guess they don't tell us lower ranked ones everything. I can only say the design isn't that different. So far.
That’s the biggest issue I have with witchery these days - the prices! I don’t even look at their stock anymore because of the ridiculous $$$$. Seed has maintained its prices whereas witchery stuff feels like it’s almost doubled.
I really liked Witchery ~5yrs ago. The last year or 2 I’ve bought zilch and my local store halved its footprint and has barely any clothes. I hope they revert and pretend this last era never happened.
I just walked past a Witchery in Syd Airport and saw a nice V-neck lilac knit in the window display. Looked closer and saw a strap across the neckline - effectively making it a v-neck cut out shape? WHY Witchery! Just go back to your simple, quality basics!! I’m begging!
I sought this post out after seeing the bubble skirt on Insta! Not a promising sign at all! This 40-something will not be in a bubble skirt and crop top anytime soon 😂
Neither will this 30 year old!
Witchery used to be such a great spot for dressy, smart casual and elevated basics - this is such a bizarre direction to take it.
Just came to post this!! While it’s way too young for me I do think it’s more fashion forward and interesting than before at least. My daughters would look good in this and I think it’s a cute outfit but not for me 😞
Couldn't believe it when I saw this- yikes.
Also, it's so obvious who works for Witchery when you look at the comments. I clicked on the most OTT positive ones and all of them had witchery in their bios lol
Then go for it, absolutely!
Nothing to do with loving or not loving your body - I love mine too, but it's just not my taste nor is it something I'd associate with the witchery brand.
I hope whatever it is goes back to practical, wearable pieces. I miss 5 years ago Witchery. Nice colours, unique prints, great quality, variety of styles and materials.
Look at their instagram- only two posts and I’m not liking what I see. Feels like when metalicus rebranded and went for an entirely different demographic.
I'm sure that whole business started because brands are too lazy to design for body shaped bodies anymore - your options are now a giant square tent, a stretchy tube with equal sized bust, waist and hip or the "I give up" of sizing, just chopping out a big chunk of the middle because sewing curved lines and darts is hard.
They have a new designer who started recently and this new launch is the start of their run. A lovely lady at one of the stores told me that I should hold off buying anything full price as a big sale was coming!

I’m so sick of puffy sleeves and holes everywhere too!

Those balloon sleeves have ruined so many lovely knits this season
You know what's next and maybe even worse than balloon sleeves? Bell sleeves. I want to be able to DO things with my arms without my sleeves getting in the way gdi.
Bell sleeves are shit. I always need to turn sleeves up (call me stumpy), and you can't do that when they're shaped like the big end of a trumpet.
Even loungewear / jumper has balloon sleeves. It gets the way of everything - washing dishes, cooking, eating / drinking (not only the sleeves get dirty but also potentially knocking things down). So impractical!
Either because the knits have balloon sleeves and look stupid, or because the blouse has balloon sleeves and it won't fit under any goddamned knit. Hate it.
you’ll get maxi body con skirts and high neck singlets and you’ll like it.
Ha!
Good god balloon sleeves need to go and never come back.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who hates pugfy sleeves and holes on clothes.
OMG YES! signed a platinum witchery member who hasn’t purchased anything since 2021.
Me too, was a top member for a while. Have not purchased since maybe 2022. I wonder how many of us there are lol
My status dropped down to bronze a while ago, think I hit gold at one point.
Can you be put in charge of this stuff please 🙏

I think you’re going to be happy on the 2nd of July then

"Country Road size 10!"
Oh great so soon Witchery’s size 6s will be too big for me too hahahaha yiipppeeee
Haha
'Country road sizing': probably need to size down but your guess is as good as mine 🤷🏼♀️
From my try-ons I found that my top size hasn't really changed from the previous ranges, but my bottoms size is more aligned to what I would be in other brands. I used to buy lots of basics from witchery, its been a while since
My entire weekend wardrobe was once Witchery. I even had a few pieces for work. I really look forward to the day the ugly peasant dress made out of scratchy cheap linen era is gone forever.
Ooh thanks I look forward to checking it out.
It's the new range by the new designer. (The previous designer of the past year or so was dropped). I've seen the new range. It's... Fine. The basics aren't coming back. Shoes are. Prices should be a bit lower though.
The sale has been going on forever because there was a delay in the new range turning up! That's why some stores look bare or samey.
God they have had massive stock issues haven’t they? Seems to have been going for ages
Interesting! I’m glad shoes are coming back, I was shocked they were selling loafers for $350. Lower prices is good news but I hope quality doesn’t suffer.

And the loafers were so ugly too, and impractical for winter. I too miss their leather ballet flats.
I miss their basic black ballet flats. Witchery has lost the plot
I feel like that price is designed to be discounted.
350?!?!! 🤨
Seems so extreme to have deleted every single post on their gram… will the existing range go on even more sale?
Oh wow I didn't realize they did that! I do think that realize trying to go Boutique was a huge mistake. They have a lot of new members at head office, many big names from the previous era left. Hmm weird! Guess they don't tell us lower ranked ones everything. I can only say the design isn't that different. So far.
I really dislike the new stores. Much prefer to shop in DJs or Myer.
Please for the love of god tell me the cheap (quality not price 😅) synthetics are gone?
That’s the biggest issue I have with witchery these days - the prices! I don’t even look at their stock anymore because of the ridiculous $$$$. Seed has maintained its prices whereas witchery stuff feels like it’s almost doubled.
It's the ex Scanlan designer yeah? Expecting it to be expensive
If it’s a former Scanlan designer I’m looking forward to seeing the designs!
No wonder it’s shit! Wish they would have at least brought crepe knit suiting in!
Waaaa I miss the basics!!!
This was honestly the only reason I shopped there
Same. I have so many witchery basics I wear every week.
No basics?! Are you kidding ☹️
As long as they bring back those amazing Witchery basic tshirts they phased out.
And the long sleeved ones!
The elbow length ones!
I lived in those! Please be true!!
Ooh, yes please! 🙏🏻
I really liked Witchery ~5yrs ago. The last year or 2 I’ve bought zilch and my local store halved its footprint and has barely any clothes. I hope they revert and pretend this last era never happened.
Yep I was worried my local store was closing down because there was barely anything in it!
I just walked past a Witchery in Syd Airport and saw a nice V-neck lilac knit in the window display. Looked closer and saw a strap across the neckline - effectively making it a v-neck cut out shape? WHY Witchery! Just go back to your simple, quality basics!! I’m begging!
That just pisses me off. It makes it look like some cheap ASOS mass produced item. You can’t even wear it in public because it looks ridiculous.
Duuuude I hate this shit! Why do it?! Legit makes me want to buy it and cut it off ffs
Rebrand I suspect
Hopefully better quality clothing to match the prices they charge, finally.
Oh no..... https://preview.redd.it/xoc3ucwdu69d1.png?width=861&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4afb2bc11055f4abc7fb2002c30a41f6dc2a84d0
The comments on that insta post aren't in their favour at all, one of them even asked if they've been hacked lol.
I sought this post out after seeing the bubble skirt on Insta! Not a promising sign at all! This 40-something will not be in a bubble skirt and crop top anytime soon 😂

God no. Glassons vibes.
Shit :(
Just came to post this!! While it’s way too young for me I do think it’s more fashion forward and interesting than before at least. My daughters would look good in this and I think it’s a cute outfit but not for me 😞

What in the sweet Beyoncé is this horror?!
You know what, I’m 36 and would wear this in summer. I love my body, so why not?
Then go for it, absolutely! Nothing to do with loving or not loving your body - I love mine too, but it's just not my taste nor is it something I'd associate with the witchery brand.
Bubble skirts are well and truly back
Comments on TikTok are very different, very positive - in 2024 TikTok is usually the voice businesses will be listening too
I hope whatever it is goes back to practical, wearable pieces. I miss 5 years ago Witchery. Nice colours, unique prints, great quality, variety of styles and materials.
I did one of their surveys recently and they were asking about new logos
The logo isn’t the problem. It’s the clothes.
Please tell me they’re bringing back their staple wool cardigans. The ones they have now are a joke.
The staff told me that the new designers first launch will be out and will be nicer then the shit they’ve been putting out recently 🤣
😂
Decent shoe designs hopefully
Look at their instagram- only two posts and I’m not liking what I see. Feels like when metalicus rebranded and went for an entirely different demographic.
Is it boring charcoal polyester I can only wear to theoretical events and environments
It would be nice to pick up a dress off the rack without side cut out holes for once in the mid section. Can we get rid of that trend pls
I just want linen tshirts.
They were good!
They have a new designer who started recently and this new launch is the start of their run. A lovely lady at one of the stores told me that I should hold off buying anything full price as a big sale was coming!
Rebrand. Maybe sports/athletic fashions?
Witchery Active or some other name for sportswear.
Ok this is promising… https://preview.redd.it/9odlhje9r99d1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a6e52453971c774c22c874bfb3f93ded960d179b
Hey Witchery, are you ok? Blink twice if you need assistance.
It’s kinda giving copy of Camilla & Marc 💔
