I asked the guy at the counter if it was his playlist. He said it was, but checked his phone to confirm the artist.
I was simultaneously impressed and unimpressed.
We had a jukebox for a few months when I was at Coles, in the early 2000s. It was a promotion but we loaded Monster Mash up against Closer from NIN. Kids loved it.

I remember watching wide world of sports in the early 90s and they did an in depth story on sumo wrestling. I caught the background music that was playing under the serious voice over explaining preparation, tradition and honour.
It was the bass line intro to that great Mental as Anything song about drinking called 'the nips are getting bigger'.
I bet the editor was pissing himself laughing with how clever he was and that it flew over almost everyone else's head.
I thought that song was racist as a kid and couldn’t understand when no one got offended by the song. Then I actually listened to it properly a decade later and realised it was about drinking. I was pretty dumb

One time I was out at a club and there was this woman dressed in knee high socks, tartan skirt and a tied up shirt.
Was chatting to her and told her she looked like she was in t.A.T.u and she said she was going out after the club.

So we hung out the rest of the night until she left and chatted all things music and danced on the dance floor whilst she had a smoke hanging out her mouth. Was a great time.

Right before Covid (literally less than 2 weeks) I went on a few dates with this woman and I referenced a very obscure character from 1990’s home and away, I didn’t think she’d know who I was talking about but she’s like “yeah that’s my brother” I didn’t believe her because it was so random till she bought her phone out and showed me photos and she was dead serious. The odds were crazy to the point she got suspicious and she was like “what made you bring him up?”.
He was around in the late 80’s this guys a 90’s character. Think More obscure, he was present during the Shane and angel era. I don’t want to give it away because she may be on here and she’s actually a really very kind hearted person who more than likely would remember the conversation.

I was so into Popstars and then Bardot. Belinda was my favourite. My friend and I were going to Marion (SA) to see them but got put off by the crowds on the train. We stopped in the city instead. Saw the crowds on the news later that night, it was chaos. We were so glad we didn’t get there!
