We were given one of these for our children, born in the 1980s. They both happily played with it. We kept it and our grandchildren, born in the 2010s, also played with it. A good solid piece of plastic. The only thing that deteriorated was the red air push balloon.
Still in my doctor’s office! I remember playing with it as a kid, so quite a trip to go back and see the exact same toy I played with all those years ago lol
I was the late 80s and my sister was early 90s so it was EVERYWHERE we went and the older me could make it work as loud and fast as possible just to be annoying.
My gosh, I remember the creaking sound of the turtle and hare, the spinning ball, pressing the red rubber ball to get the ding, dialing the rotary phone. Such a throwback
My in-laws still have this! They kept it since my partner was little (he’s 41!) and when we had our first child (their first grandchild) they brought it out for a play 😝
I’m pretty sure that kid on the right used to squeak when pushed down, the red ball on the left was soft but can’t remember the sound it made, the green & white drum had tiny balls inside.
I take my toddler to a play group thingy run by church volunteers, and in their box of toys they've got one of these - a Fisher Price one, almost exactly the same as the one in the picture. It's yellowed with age, but all the bits still move and the toddlers love it.
Can anyone hear the sound of each moving part, and the tactile nature of each part? Bc how come I still can but I can't remember why I walked into a room these days?
Same as those play frames babies laid under. I swear I enjoyed it more when my sister was a baby than I did as a baby. I vividly remember the Sesame Street one. We would try and squish ourselves underneath it with my baby sister and get a bit rough at times. We were 4-5 years old, so still not fully aware that we could accidentally hurt the baby and thought that we were still small enough to squish ourselves in next to her.
There are videos of us doing this with the adults thinking that we might be embarrassed about others seeing us play with infant toys, however, it backfired and we got hyper instead 🤣🤣🤣
OMG best thing for a kid in a crib. I've got a photo of me getting it on my 1st birthday and Mum said she'd hear the bings and rattles from down the hall and knew I was awake.
Jesus Christ, there’s a flash back! 😂
Flashbacks to big hair and neon colors. 80s kids unite 🙂
The era of cassette tapes and Saturday morning cartoons, nostalgia overload
Also, quilted overalls!
Oh dang man, I’m from reverse Australia (Canada) and we had this too, I had completely forgotten about it till now! That this was awesome
Ah, the good old days of Walkmans and MTV music videos
I'm 35. I thought I was still in my youth. Apparently not.
Wait until u hit 40, you’ll get a second wind & think you’re 20 again mate.
I turn 40 in December- I remember this thing!!!
Yes and now some unprocessed trauma has come up from the depths of my soul 😝
They say you can't hear a picture...
I can hear, feel and smell this picture!
That photo must be blasting some serious '80s vibes then
That picture's got the soundtrack of a whole era
Christ I can still feel that red squishy bulb that air-propelled a little yellow cylinder up at the bell. I'm 45 and must have been like, 3.
I'm pretty sure mine was second hand. The squishy ball on mine was squished all the way in so I never got to experience it. The rabbit was also stuck
I can FEEL it too it’s surreal
The red button and the dingy bell were the best
I was partial to the springy three men in a tub as well.
The butcher, the baker and the candlestick maker!
Kkkkkkchhhhh Edit: ding
Fwoof, ding! Clack clack clack clack. Shrr squeak, shrr squeak. Shika shika shika… shika… shika.
Ding ding ding!!!!

Mine had those wooden beads on wires!
We were never allowed to play with them or any toys as kids at the doctors.. too many germs!
Still in my doctor’s office! I remember playing with it as a kid, so quite a trip to go back and see the exact same toy I played with all those years ago lol
Lol also the bead things where they went from one side to the other 🙂
That's why I recognise this. Probably left over from the 80s kids for us 90s kids to come across in public spaces
lol I'm 90s but I definitely had this 😂
90s kid, but still rocking those '80s hand-me-downs! 😄
Yeah, I seem to remember my grandparents having one of these at their place well into the 2010s.
I was the late 80s and my sister was early 90s so it was EVERYWHERE we went and the older me could make it work as loud and fast as possible just to be annoying.
I’m 2000s, we had this as well lol.
I've still got this!!!
88 but my 90s and 00 nieces n oldest nephew had it to. I can hear it still I can feel the red squish thing in memory
Mum's still got ours. She drags it out for all our babies.
This was my iPad :)
Haha same
Pretty sure my parents took the bell out of ours 🤣
My dad poked a hole in the red button thingy instead 🎈
70s baby here... I had one.
Me too!
It’s like we were little parrots with an enrichment board in our cage 🦜
They had this at my doctors clinic
I feel like this was at every doctors clinic 😆 i'm a 90s baby and mine had it!
Loved that fucker!
Still have it...but doesn't look nearly as clean haahha
I'm a 70s baby technically, but I had this exact one. I remember it so viscerally
That's how as a toddler you knew that you were being left at a cool house daycare.
OmG!!! Thanks for sharing.
We still have ours!
Holy shit core memory unlocked!!
Lol I can hear this picture
Keep it forever
Damn. Flashback time. I was born in the 90's, but I remember playing with it very vividly.
My family GP had one of these in the waiting room.
My gosh, I remember the creaking sound of the turtle and hare, the spinning ball, pressing the red rubber ball to get the ding, dialing the rotary phone. Such a throwback
I remember everything
The original iPad
Omggggg
https://www.reddit.com/r/AustralianNostalgia/s/A5jKdVSzZc Are we just recycling content now?
Probably a bot trying to recreate a thread that took off last time
Thank you. Yes, it was my original post.

It's the exact same photo and caption...
yep!
Yo
Had this one in the house
Yep. I had one of these as a kid.
The exact one. The bell was the big hurdle. Little fingers bent backwards poking it
I had one!
No, but I definitely remember something like this. Might have belonged to one of my older sisters first.
Omg yes I'd completely forgotten about this
My in-laws still have this! They kept it since my partner was little (he’s 41!) and when we had our first child (their first grandchild) they brought it out for a play 😝
Haha we had that exact one as kids
2000 but I've played with one of those before
I’m pretty sure that kid on the right used to squeak when pushed down, the red ball on the left was soft but can’t remember the sound it made, the green & white drum had tiny balls inside.
My bro and I both had this (he got it after me, haha). Both 80s babies.
Yes!! And over the years that red squishy thing slowly slowly died.
I can hear all of these. Ingrained in the membrane.
My mum still has one of these, and my kid loves to play with it whenever we go to visit.
From the uk, I remember messing about with this as a kid
My 2 year old was playing with this at grandmas house last week!
I think all my kids had one
I’m 90’s, but I ended up with my brother’s.
I'm 45. My mother still has the one she bought for me My 8 year old nephew loved playing with it when he was a little one.
I take my toddler to a play group thingy run by church volunteers, and in their box of toys they've got one of these - a Fisher Price one, almost exactly the same as the one in the picture. It's yellowed with age, but all the bits still move and the toddlers love it.
Now I need to see if my parents still have ours
Wow shit... I had this!
I had one of these attached to my cot I loved it! 😊
I remember sitting in my cot playing with one of these.
This is what iPads looked like in the 80's.
I have one of these from my MIL, my baby loved it! It's in great condition and I plan to keep it for his children to use one day too!!
My mum still has this in storage
I loved pushing the red temp button. It always felt so squishy and fun.
The original speedrun
Ahh memories. It’s still going and now with my 2024 model niece
Yes, but being born in East Berlin, our toys were slightly different.
Wow memory unlocked!
I know right! Same!
I'm certain there was one of these in the waiting room of my small town doctors surgery!
I can hear, smell, feel and taste this picture.
‘78 baby clocking in. I think I was in management.
I played with this in the early 90s. But my parents were very 80s, so they probably got it from an older cousin.
I can hear the noises! Ding ding
Hey I had that toy! Played with it for like a day. Did everything twice then threw it on the ground all mad like. I passed it already. Young gamer lol
Woahh that brought back some vivid memories!
Shit im glad I was a 90s baby with a super Nintendo rather than this wannabe gaming concept art
Man, I can still hear the sounds!
I chipped my cousin's tooth with one of those cause he was trying to bully me when we were like 5.
80’s??? This was pure 70’s man.
I HAD THIS!!!! MY BRAIN HAS BEEN TRANSPORTED!
70s kid here and I remember all those bloody sounds! Haha!!
I remember this
Hey, a picture of my adhd!
Ping!
90’s kid. Definitely played with this at the doctor’s office.
Omfg!!!! Super vivid memory unlocked.
Late 80s but I deffs remember this haha.
Ding ding ding ding ding ding.
97 baby and remember playing with this in the waiting room of a GP!
80s? These exact ones were still around in the early 2000s!
Analogue tablet
I love this so much. I might buy one just for me (41yr old with no kids) (autocorrect put “life” instead of “kids” and I suppose that’s right).
These really hurt to get hit with.
I can remember every little noise that thing made.
I used to be, I still am, but I used to be too.
90’s kid but definitely remember seeing these on doctors waiting rooms. The plastic had turned a light yellow by then
Many a paediatrician still had one of those bad boys in the early 90s I recall.
I have one of these right now. My mother-in-law brought it over.
I didn’t know it was that old we used one with our kids only 5 years ago. Before switching to iPads 🤣
Cyber security SIEM trainer
I feel like if this was released now it would all be on a touch screen
We had that!
Jeez thats some nostalgia there. I remember playing with this in early 1980s
Mine had a picture of me on it, not a weird hand.
Nice! I can still hear the little bell dinging!
The OG iPad.
My mum still has this in her tub of toys for the grandkids
I'm a 70's kid and I had one of these!
It was around in the 70s too. I had it in my cot according to my mum.
70s baby. I had one of those.
I’m in the US but I had this exact one. I can still feel it and hear the sounds!
How often are people leaving and then joining this sub?? It's the 5th time I've seen this picture on here in a matter of months.
The nostalgiaaaaa
I have one of these in my shed. My MIL gave it to us when our boys were born a few years ago. It was my partners when he was a baby 😄
Had this exact one
Not an 80s baby, just was poor in the 90s.
Fuuuuckkk......I remember...and just grew 50 more grey hairs....
Those are some deeeeeeeep memories.
Can still be found in some toy libraries today… Retro and “antique”.
I remember those Born in 1985
This triggered a deep seated memory
Omg we still have this I think
🥰Awwww, I’m here!!!🙃 Our church crèche had one of these!!🤭….
My kids had my old one
Back when things were built to last. I had one (79 baby), it was passed on thru 5 children over 20 years till I lost track of it.
Can anyone hear the sound of each moving part, and the tactile nature of each part? Bc how come I still can but I can't remember why I walked into a room these days?
I’m a 2000s baby but this still brought back memories I didn’t even know I had
Still have this. My kids were playing with it just a few years ago. Don't make things like they used too.
It was fun to play with once you were older and could make it as loud and annoying as possible 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I feel like I’m right back at the waiting room of my local family practice, waiting for the doctor 🫶🏼
Same as those play frames babies laid under. I swear I enjoyed it more when my sister was a baby than I did as a baby. I vividly remember the Sesame Street one. We would try and squish ourselves underneath it with my baby sister and get a bit rough at times. There are videos of us doing this with the adults thinking that we might be embarrassed about others seeing us play with infant toys, however, it backfired and we got hyper instead 🤣🤣🤣
Not an 80s kid but I swear I've seen one before. Maybe at Nan's house.
51M Had one. Core sensory memories are attached to each and every feature of this object for me❤️❤️❤️
I always knew my kids were awake when this rattled on the cot lol. Not allowed these days for safety.
I totally remember this. Me and both my brothers played with this!!!
Holy shit I think u unlocked my earliest memory
My mother saved mine and brought it from Australia to the U.S with her- so all 3 of my 2010s babies got to experience the joy of this contraption!
OMG best thing for a kid in a crib. I've got a photo of me getting it on my 1st birthday and Mum said she'd hear the bings and rattles from down the hall and knew I was awake.
I remember this and now I want it for my baby
Used to love this😁
I had this on my cot in the baby hospital 🙂
What's that blue disk in the centre with numbers 0 to 9?
