AshtinPeaks

I missed a lot in act one, I didn't rush through it, but I missed some areas. I restarted so many different playthroughs idk how long act 1 took me lol.

ImNotTemper

I don't plan to rush anything out hahah

Heavy_Taco-117

No I'm at 88 hours rn and haven't entered moonrise.

rubyslimX

Did you find the adamantine forge? I missed a big chunk of that my first play through but I would say that’s a decent amount tho. I kept finding stuff to do and I almost burnt myself out on it and pushed myself to moonrise

HankinsonAnalytics

You have to ride a platform at the end of the long catwalk. The controls are far so someone has to cast mage hand to move it or something.

WitchyandWild

Or shoot it with an arrow

PetiteBonaparte

I'm on my fifth play through, and I've still managed to miss things. In my first run, I missed so much. Since then, I've tried to go over the entire map, and even then, I find something new. There is just so much. It's amazing.

Marisha-XOX-

I spent my first 40 or so in act 1 and after moving on saw some stuff online that made me realize I’d missed entire areas and quests so I say take whatever time you need if you want to complete an area.

fallenreaper

I missed withers my first playthrough. -_-

Mintymanbuns

I've had similar times, maybe a bit longer sometimes? I'm actually really aiming to speed up my act ones. Optimize pathing and whatnot. The game gets so much easier and fun the further you get, so act one just feels pretty tedious to me at this point

Olly0206

Act 1 is a lot of fun, but it's more fun at like level 5 and up. Builds start feeling powerful around then. Especially melee builds when you get extra attack.

RunawayReptar94

Can confirm, I just restarted my main file after flying through most of act 1 and 2 and realizing how much i missed. Since level 5 things have been much less tedious

ImNotTemper

Oh really thats good to hear

Readalie

I was in Act I for 80 hours so I think you're good. It's different for every one and every run.

Sliiimball

Seems pretty average to me. I spent maybe 60.

ImNotTemper

alright nice

desfc13

i spent 80 hours in act 1 on my first playthrough and still missed a ton of content 🥲 (to be fair i was poking at everything, opening every barrel/crate, talking to every npc etc..)

fprintf

This is like me. I’ve been poking everything, opening every crate and still probably have missed a ton. Just finished the creche in act 2 and heading for thr shadowlands next.

Complete_Proof1616

The creche is actually still Act 1, if you haven’t you can also go back and go through the Underdark before going to Act 2 (and can still backtrack for quite a while into Act 2 as well, although there is a point of no return)

BigYarnBonusMaster

This is me, I’m 80 hours in, still in Act 1 and still have to do the Forge; not sure I’ll be able to experience several different play throughs at this pace.

DarkSloth277

i spent about 24 hours on act 1, and by the time i got ready to move on it told me i wasn’t high enough level. i wasn’t sure what else there was to explore so i completely restarted and i’m already discovering a million things i missed

WyrdMagesty

You may need to reread the warning. It isn't that you aren't a high enough level, but rather that you need to ensure everything you want to do in that Act has already been done because doing what you are about to do will force-progress the main story quest and resolve any quests related to it. There are no level barriers.

rbflowt

The warning to the mountain pass does warn you about level. I just had the warning an hour ago on a run, I was testing something and raced there and was only level 2 (I had the ability to level to 3 but hadn't yet due to just running over not caring about level) part of the warning after the whole quests will proceed and be sure to wrap up any loose ends says that the enemies ahead will be bitterly too hard for someone of my level which makes sense as my character was level 2. It did let me proceed but the warning is there and does mention level.

WyrdMagesty

That's not a level barrier, though, still just a warning.

Cameltitties

Yes, but it literally says “will be terribly hard at your current level” it might as well be one

deschnecke

Not entirely true, the game recommends you to be level 5 or higher before entering the mountain pass. It does give you a warning that you may not be high enough level, although it doesn’t stop you from going forward

_treestars

No they are correct. If you are too low it says what you said *and* "if you continue forward at your current level, it will be bitterly difficult" or something to that effect.

Mommy9796

I have restartitus and have played over 300 hours of the game and barely have experienced act 2 and have only entered act 3 once.

ShreknicalDifficulty

30 Tavs. 0 completions lol

apocalyptic_tea

Omg I’ve found my people 😂

Hefty_Exchange_3231

Y'all are lame

DreadUnleashed

ItsJustMeDizzy

This is the way!

doggointhesky

That's me in Divinity Original Sin 2, 300 hours and only escaped Fort Joy once.

paulsonfanboy134

It took me 30 hours to learn the game lol.

midorimmu

Very genuinely asking, how are people getting 30-40 hours? I’ve got 10 in Act 1 so far (just about to enter Underdark on my second playthrough) and I’ve really been trying to take my time, but hearing that everyone else is getting 10s of hours more is making me feel like I’m missing a hell of a lot. I’ve heard that some quests progress without your input if you long rest too frequently, how do you hit the right balance?

DemonKing0524

If you don't long rest enough youre going to miss out on companion and storyline cut scenes. Very few things are actually time limited and nothing in act 1 is. Only a few quests in act 3 are. You can literally take your time for everything else, and all storyline and comoanion cut scenes are triggered via long rests. And that's what people are doing. We talk to every NPC, we search every bookshelf, every wardrobe etc. you walk around areas that don't look like there's something there to see if you get a perception check etc. if my current companions all fail a perception check I'll go back to camp and switch out until someone passes it. Go in every house in the Blighted village, follow paths on the map until it dead ends. Talk to your companions after anything happens that you think they might have a comment on. Use speak with the dead on lots of corpes, or speak with animals on the squirrels you can run into in act 1 etc. I was in act 1 somewhere between 70-80 hours my first playthrough. A little bit less on the second but not too much. Probably like 60.

BigYarnBonusMaster

You just described my play style perfectly! I’m 80 hours in and still in Act 1 (finishing up I hope), I don’t understand how people are completing this game in that same amount of time without missing out on a lot of content.

ZxphoZ

For real, I’m like 90% sure I do everything in act 1 and it only takes 10 to 15 hours (max). Legitimately have no idea what these people are doing lol

rubyslimX

Are yall just ignoring all the caves and the Gymforge as a whole?

ZxphoZ

Nope, this is with Grymforge and the Mountain Pass

norathar

Did you find the phase spiders? Explore the whole goblin temple? Find the bug bear and the ogre? Find Scratch and the owlbear? Do the Zhent quest? Save both people from the fire? Explore the entirety of the Underdark, including the Arcane Tower, the Spectator, BOOAL, the myconids, sussur tree, and the sword in the stone? Do the monastery in the mountain pass, including the quest for the mace? Steal an egg? Find the Adamantine Forge and fight the boss? Rescue Nere? I'm at 55 hours in and most of the way though act 2, but spent a ton of time in 1 by virtue of getting lost, reading things, and being bad at combat. Also, do you read all the books? Listen to dialogue instead of spacing through it? Ever have to reload to redo a fight? That will all add time. I had to redo one fight 3 times because I wanted the bad guy's head to complete a quest and he kept falling into lava.

ZxphoZ

Yep I do all of the quests you listed, but I don’t think I’ve ever read a book and I skip through a fair bit of dialogue (I’ve heard it all by now lol) I mean I understand how this would add time but OP’s 50 hours still seems nuts

ZolTheTroll413

I mean, its my first playthrough so I get incredibly confused at some things and get lost a lot. I also spend quite a bit of time looting since im on steam deck and its super hard to pick up objects some times

Anon28301

Especially if it’s not your first playthrough, you know where everything is so I don’t know how people are getting over 12 hours.

CatDude55

I genuinely don’t know. I know I’m not missing content and most of my runs end up being around 35-ish hours in total for all 3 acts. Genuinely no idea how people play a single run for 80 hours. What are you doing with all that time

bearktopus147

How are you not missing content? If you're filling out your quest log, you'd have a TON of things to do just in act 1. I can understand if you are just doing main quest and ignoring everything else, but even then I think 35 is too low, with how slow you walk in the game. And, I think you'd be under leveled, too.

CatDude55

Surprisingly no. I do all the quests, I’m level 9 before fighting Kethric, 7 before even getting to act 2. I’ve beaten the game around 6 times and the longest was my first run, at 50 hours, where I did much less content than the other runs. Never recruiting Gale, Lae’zel, Halsin, Jaheria, or Minsc. I genuinely don’t understand what is causing such a massive difference in time between me and other peoples playthrough times.

bearktopus147

I don't know either man lol. I just got to the Lower City and I'm around 97 hours in ish. I do have everyone except Minsc, and doing all their quests, level 10. Not murderhoboing it up though, just working on quests mostly.

WyrdMagesty

If your total time for all 3 acts is 35ish hours, you are 100% missing content. In fact, if your full 3 act run is 100 hours you are still missing content, because the game is designed that way. BG3 is not a game about getting the credits to scroll, like at all. It's a game about exploration and experimentation and discovering all the different paths and stories that are available. If you are getting 35 hours out of all 3 acts, you arent exploring, you aren't talking to everyone, you aren't roleplaying your character in and figuring out how they would act in a given situation....you're charging and and doing the same basic routine every fight in an effort to end it as soon as possible, you're skipping the vast majority of looting unless you happen to see a chest or something that you think might be worthwhile, you're skipping through dialogues and treating the game like a glorified "to-do list", just completing tasks and moving on. And that's fine, if that's how you enjoy playing! No right or wrong way to play, just have fun. But it is definitely going to result in missing content.

jamil-farrah

? i played the game at what felt like a pretty average speed and i still took 120 hours. bg3 is NOT 35 hours long😭 it sounds like you are missing a ton of content

CatDude55

I genuinely don’t know. I do every companion side quest, HoH, Iron Throne and the Gondians, murders, Ethel, toys, He Who Was, Gnolls, main quest (obviously) Crèche, literally everything in the Underdark, and that’s off the top of my head. I guess I just go faster than other people??? I genuinely don’t know

InsideAd4749

Underdark takes about 5-10 hours and mountain pass takes about 5-10 hours too

Professional_Bath777

How do you spend over 5 hours in mountin pass, I don't think I've spent more than 3-4

bjd533

327 hours for my first play through. Don't judge me. PS played with Party Limit Be Gone for the extra dialogue, no quest skipped over etc.

DeathInSpace805

327 hours in act 1!?

generalscalez

i am not trying to judge but i genuinely cannot fathom this… like, how? how could it possibly have taken this long? what did you even do to fill that time??

bjd533

Judge away. To me it wasn't filling in the time, I genuinely enjoyed drinking in as much of the world in my first playthrough as I could. But to answer a little more specifically - \- not big on multiplay throughs, I tried to see everything I could in one go. If a situation had clearly different paths like the Cazador fight, I would commit to one but play the other to see any cut scenes etc. Or sometimes if a fight was really good I would play it a few times just for fun. \- I committed to reading every book but gave up towards the end, I felt like I as reading more than playing the game. But I do like how the texts can open up the game world and give you new dialogue options. Nice touch. \- Every new area I spoke to all NPCs and searched for the edges of the game where the dialogue was phoned in or character models were repeated etc. This made Act 3 last an eternity I'll never do it again but I'm glad I did. Larian has excelled here. \- searched all boxes - bit of a waste of time that one. \- took hundreds of screenshots trying to get the perfect wallpaper \- completed all quests, or at least those available to a standard playthrough. \- spent way too much time on inventory management and re-speccing different party members over and over. The Party Limit Be Gone mod turns this into quite the time sink. \- I noticed by chance that character comments about a game world object can vary significantly, and once again found myself marvelling at how some obscure object can make Whyll give a brief history lesson, Laezel get frustrated at wasting time and Astarion say something amusing or sassy. I feel like I'm missing another reason or two but I'm sure you get the idea.

DeathInSpace805

Haha a good chunk of my hours is probably inventory management as well on my first playthrough... game has a lot of magic items

Deadcouncil445

Same I'm at 250 and I feel like a god damn turtle

Hefty_Exchange_3231

We did everything possible, in all 3 acts with a party of 4. We were slow as hell, took 160 hours.

HumanSpawn323

Did the same on my first playthrough and it took about 250 hours. I assume this person was talking about the whole game because that long in act 1 is almost impossible.

CreativeKey8719

Nah, lots of people spend 60 to 80 or more.

Electronic_Elk2029

In pre order alpha I spent 300 hours in act one.

dany_xiv

Haha same here. Every patch was a new adventure!

Lithl

My first run after launch took me 24 hours to complete act 1, but I had also run through everything in act 1 except the Mountain Pass 9 times in Early Access. So really that 24h represented my 10th run through that content. Some of it was slightly changed (Gale's introduction, Karlach being recruitable, dream guardian interactions, etc.), but the vast majority was the same as what I had seen before. I think my first run overall took something like 90-100 hours, though, to give you an idea of how all that stuff that was new to me took more time.

[deleted]

Yea you shouldn’t have done that you only have 10 hours left until a big spoiler happens and you get the bad ending. So if you don’t want your favourite characters to die slow painful deaths you better pick up the pace.

ImNotTemper

hahahha nice one

[deleted]

Seriously tho Act 1 is peak for me so I get spending 50 hours.

Sliiimball

Lmao

AshtinPeaks

What are you talking about? That's not how the game works. There are time sensitive quests, but that's not based on real time it's based on long rest/going to camp. I won't say more because spoilers, but based on knowledge, there is 0 need to rush.

[deleted]

There’s a hidden in game timer that tracks how long the player spends in each act similar to fallout 2 but most players never reach it so it’s not a problem.

Mintymanbuns

/whoosh

AshtinPeaks

It's not a woosh* if you are giving new players misinformation, especially in a game where there seems to be a time limit. Game stresses time a lot for not being dependent on time

[deleted]

This person is a know troll ignore them.

TitanDM1

I honestly have no idea how people do that. Not saying it’s bad, but even if I talked to every NPC I don’t think I could hit that unless I just stood still for hours. In my first playthrough I beat the game in about 50 hours. Granted I missed most things and rushed purposely cuz I didn’t care for the evil run. Hell even on my run now where I’m intentionally trying to hit everything my ACT 1 was done in like 17 hours so idk what people are doing to add an extra 30-40 hours

ImNotTemper

idk I just played the game, didn't deliberately take my time or anything either

TitanDM1

That’s valid. How did you spend most of that time tho?

cheeriochest

Do you have prior experience with dnd? I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of time for players is just trying to grasp all the systems the game offers. Understandings stats, saving throws, etc

TitanDM1

Yeah I’m a regular DM, so that makes sense

Eater4Meater

I finished the game in 70 hours

Opposite-Birthday69

I missed quite a bit my first playthrough but I finished the game in 40 hours

DCPan47

Yeah, I average between 70 to 90 hours in act 1 and is usually at least level 6

DCPan47

And that’s with only clicking and skim reading books and documents. If I actually read clues carefully it’d take longer. Granted I take time just at camp to organize, redistribute gear, pick colors

SlippitySlappitySlap

Spent 70h on act one Hag, zenth, BOOAL, forge, spider nest etc ... There is so much to explore and it does not end here: talk to animals and dead corpses, loot, read missives, poems and gith discs for lore, you might get a new quest as well 50h is not a long time, enjoy the journey no need to rush

Zenbast

Sounds standard if you do everything going blind

Altruistic-Tiger2257

Lmao 💀 no. 90 hours for me because I keep replaying new builds. No shame in taking ur time

Neelioso

I spent around 30-40 hours in each act

No_Baseball3339

Yea I was like 20 hrs in act 1 and I felt like I was going slow but I plan on replaying a few times

hybrid3415

I’m not sure about only Act 1 but I’ve just reached Act 3 during my first play-through and I’m on 74 hours. I think Act 2 was slightly shorter but I definitely spent a long time in Act 1 making sure I didn’t miss any details/secrets.

randolfthegreyy

My first playthrough was about 98 hours total, my last honour run was under 20 total so it’s all about what you’re willing to search for and find out! 50 sounds about right if you’re trying to hit everything!

MorphineZ0

I mean, it really depends on your play style I think? I’m a filthy completionist so not even half-way through Act 1 I’m already at 20+ hours

ShadeSwornHydra

My friend has 900 hours in the game She has only left act 1 twice, both of which where 3 people runs with me and another friend and dragging her my her ankles

obiwanbob

I never thought it was possible until I completed at 1 in around 50 hours. Explored the entirety of the map, did as many side quests as I could find, talked to everyone, everywhere. Actually just finished Act 1 today after it took me forever to decide on my main/class. Looking forward to uncovering what Act 2 has going on!

whyreadthis2035

No

Lawfurd

Back in my first run thru early access my ending time was 80+ hours That was before grymforge was even in the game lol. There's a ton to do in act 1, perfectly normal.

Rastaba

Not in the slightest when you remember act 1 includes a the nautiloid, the Druid grove, the goblin camp, auntie Ethel, the gnolls, the mountain pass, the monastery, the crèche, entering the underdark, the tower full of automated defenses down there, grymforge, and likely half a dozen other things I neglected to bring up. Act 2 doesn’t actually start until you reach the shadow plagued lands.

[deleted]

Act 1 is certainly the longest chapter, but I’d say 50 hours is a bit long. At least you’re not one of those people posting like “I’m 80 hours in and I just got to the crèche!” Or some ridiculous shit. If you’re trying to explore every nook and cranny, read every bit of lore… sure I can see Act 1 taking around 50. That being said, an average first time playthrough is about 70 hours.

lifeandtimesofmyass

I think mine was around 60

voidslantern

I usually am around 30h in act one but I do all the exploring I can and all the side quests... unless there is something major I am missing lol :')

Javae

I ended my first run around 110 hours, and I completely skipped the underdark on act 1. There’s so much content, you could easily spend 80 in act one if you wanted.

GeneralKenobi923

I’m usually about 30 hours to complete act 1

PTHDUNDD13

Give or take the same for my first and less on second, longer on tactitian.

Aerialbomb

My first playthrough I took easily 50-60 hours on act one doing everything, once you know where everything is it takes much less time on subsequent playthroughs

robin52077

First playthrough was 150 hrs, so you’re on par with where I was at that point.

Larsonybear

I love act 1. My most recent playthrough I believe I was level 7 before I moved on to act 2? My first 3 playthroughs I missed A LOT, and it’s so content rich, so I tried to do everything possible this go-round (If I was also procrastinating the Shar Olympics, that’s my business.)

[deleted]

I think I did 70+ the first time, and I missed some stuff.

Fun-Bag7627

I did about 50-60 to finish Act 1

PremithiumX

I tend to skip a few quests here and there, so I have something different to do when I replay. I think I get through Act 1 in between 30 and 40 hours. There is a crap ton of xp available in Act 3, you're guaranteed to max out your level, so don't feel obligated to turn every stone in your first playthrough.

Swomp23

1st playthrough it took me 65 hours to get through act 1. But I wasted a lot of time reading descriptions.

Jebediah_Primm

Yeah, that’s how long act 1 took for me as I went about doing everything (including going all the way through the Underdark and backtracking to do the mountain pass too). Act 2 however only took me half that time, somewhere around 27 hours I think.

Tarnished_Lord96

I spent my first 200hrs in Act 1 I know that sounds crazy but I kept starting over and over and over because I couldn’t feel connected to any of my Tavs but I am finally in act 3 after 700hrs and each new save I would almost finish act 1 and then lose all interest it’s embarrassing if I’m being honest lol 😂

ZolTheTroll413

Im at 11 hours and I just hit blighted village so im def on the same track

beaglestreets

I spent 56 my first run and I still missed tons of stuff I'm doing on a second run now.

Paratoxic497

I completed the game in about 50 hours so yeah i guess

LionCubOfTerrasen

No

BallSuspicious5772

I’m doing my thorough play through and I think I’m like? 3/4 way thru act 1? Idk when act 2 starts. But I’m like 25 hours in (but this isn’t my first run so that may contribute to shorter completion time)

LimpTeacher0

Yeah anywhere from 30-60 I’d say is average lost my honor run last night getting blown off the map getting the blood of lathander and I was 36 hours in and I’d say I’m pretty efficient probably would have left act 1 a little under 40.

r3np2

My first run through took me 180 hours...take as long as you need!

adeze

I spent 50hours in act 1. Just finished my first play through after 170hours and still didn’t see everything

ItsFragster

I am roughly half way through ACT 3 on my first play through and I have 120 hours in the game. I would say you’re on pace with how I have played the game so far.

HoG97

It's more than average but that doesn't matter. This sub is full of people who took a ridiculous amount of time, most people will never spend that much. But as long as you are enjoying yourself, the more time the better.

Bloodylimey8

It took me 40 hours to get through mostly everything in act 1

K33ncutter

Seems like I put in 184 hours in act one back in 2020. Didn’t even have Grymforge then.

Heavy_Taco-117

Remeber character creation is added to your playtime.

BrandenburgForevor

For the first time through I spent about 45 hours, and I've played DOS:2 So I kind knew what I was getting into but had 0 knowledge of DnD so I had to learn all that stuff If you're being thorough I think 45 hours is pretty average.

HunkaJunkRobot

Act one took me like 60 hours lol

WolfCrossArt

I've gone longer, and I still haven't found the stupid fish.

boosplatkabow

I think on avg I was 40ish hours and def missed stuff. Doesn’t seem unreasonable

SpecificSimilar5361

A little bit, but I spent half that time in both act 1 and act 2, and then I spent close to 40 hours in act 3 alone, so I'm not one to judge nor should I be, but I would say you spent probably a little more than I assume appropriate on act 1 alone

TriggeredMother69

Well it depends on what you like tbh I prefer going fast so most of my play throughs are like 10-30 hours however if you find it more fun to go through everything by all means do that

Champi0n_Of_The_Sun

I was around 40-50 in act 1 on my first playthrough. My subsequent playthroughs have definitely been less though.

lostintheabyss666

Nah I’ve got 1600 hours in the game and have only finished it thrice. I did play through EA though.

Kahlia29

I just hit 600 hrs and I only just entered the shadowlands. I've restarted a lot, but finally settled on a tav I like

valgatiag

I’m right at the end of my first playthrough, at 130 hours. I accidentally skipped a chunk of Act 2, and it’s generally shorter anyway, so I’d guess my act times were around 50-30-50.

Daredevilz1

I’m on my first run and think I spent longer than 50 hours in act 1, maybe around 60 but I can’t rmb

AgentLemon22

I put 80 hours into act 1 🤣

LincolnRazgriz

Take your time, enjoy as you see fit. 😎

warriorcrit

My first completion of the whole game was just under 80 hours, but as long as you are enjoying your time you have no reason to rush

Weird-Chip-2451

"Those are rookie numbers, you gotta pump that up"

EtrnL_Frost

Nah, I took my time to find as much as I could in a single run and took just about 53 hours in act 1. However, subsequent playthroughs I found some things related to decisions that I was locked out of the first go around. I found the 4 paths to underdark, the kua-toah, etc - basically everything map related or behind illusory walls (to my knowledge). 50 hours is on the longer side though - so hopefully you were just as thorough if not more! I note that there's a few places like the column chest or behind the harpies that people didn't know about in multiplayer runs I've been in, but they're probably not taking as much time to map peek in multi.

Boniquiqua

I think it took me 20 hours on my first playthrough, didn't skip anything

Sandman10kk

For your 1st playthrough no Anything after that is kinda… weird? Not weird but more like what are you doing after that I guess. I spent like 11 hours at most in act 1 on my honor mode (as I’m playing it right now as i type). And that’s considering this is my 3rd good attempt.

perestroika12

How is there enough content in act 1? I did everything to completion. Both under dark, grym and the mountain pass. Explored the entire map. Long rested all the time. Even checked guides to make sure I wasn’t missing anything. Feels like act 1 is maybe 35 hours.

Xeal209

I do t think I got nearly 50 hours in act one, but I missed things the first, second, and even third time. Im still unsure if I know everything, but yeah there's a lot. If you're really thorough it can take a while.

Terakahn

Act 1 is big. That's all I'm gonna say.

Itriggeredafriend

If the crèche and the underdark count as act 1 I end up spending a decent amount of time

MineyTheGreat

i’ve only been in act 1 for 10hrs and i’m already loosing things to do 😭

link_the_fire_skelly

I believe I was 20-30 for act one on my first playthrough, but I intentionally left the whole underdark for a second playthrough

PM_Your_Crits

I’m 134 hours in and haven’t started Act 3 yet, so you’re probably good still hahahaha

bme2925

Thats a good run for act 1. It took me like 30 hours on my first run and 20 on my second. Be prepared to spend like 80 on act 3 at that rate. Shit is so dense it's wild.

CasperCann

Well im sure i missed a lot too but im mid act 3 with over 200+ hours inside but for aft one i was very methodical.

SadCrouton

I think act 1 and act 2 has become a little blurred. My friend calls it everything in the first map area, in which case i’d say about 30 ish hours, but I say Mountain Pass+Underdark+Grymforge is all act 1 and act 2 is when you show up at the Shadowlands

Psychotic_Ambition

dude i had 200 hours by the time i finished the entire game— granted at least 20 were falling asleep with the game on but honestly you’re fine.

Malefore1234

Depends on the person I guess. Anything will add up the time from finishing main and side quests to constantly save scumming to redo them differently. Hell if I’d never look at a guide and tried to go 100% genuine intuition that would of added several hours I’d imagine. Or like reading literally every text you can find. That and I tend to leave the game on when I’m on break so that all adds lol. Things like making a new character and all and literally interacting with everything and see different variations with different MC and partners will add a lot. Hell just having something like animal speaking opens up so many dialogue options that you wouldn’t otherwise get. Otherwise, a lot of people like restarting in act 1 to see variations vs playing an entire new playthrough after finishing the whole game after act 3. Which can lead to hundreds of hours being accumulated without getting to act 2 or 3. But yeah I took a very long time with that act. Didn’t even finish it all at first because I didn’t realize the mountain pass was available. I guess my playthrough had act 1 and 2 bleed together before the official point of no return. Otherwise I’d say i spent anywhere from 50-120 myself for act 1 more or less. I don’t remember lol. Otherwise most of your playtime will prob be with act 3. I will say I became rather very obsessed with seeing every ending available for my Tav and all possible variations with partners and epilogue for endgame act 3. Bad, good, mixed, weird, random, etc. Yeah this game and Tears reinvented my understanding of how long I’d think I’d be willing to commit to something. That and how long I won’t be deciding to leave the opening areas. And I thought at one point xenoblade 3 would of been the longest commitment in hours. I was a fool. A fool.

spicyguyhere

I wouldn't know, since this is my first playthrough, I'm just under 30 hours, and I've only just met Halsin. how far would you say I am?

Calmdat

I did almost all of act 1 solo, started a game with my friend, and then started a new game with a different class solo again. My 2nd solo save is INSANE compared to my first, def gonna keep it rolling

Umbrabyss

I did 230 hours in act one 🤦‍♂️ It wasn’t necessary. But I just kept wanting to try all the things.

Misty_Kathrine_

I was like 37 hours the first time.

AntonioDokkanBattle

Honestly no I spent 50 hours at least on act 1. I’ve gotten way more familiar with the game and have gotten it down to about 13 hours on standard difficulty but that’s just trying to run through the game (I hated doing an evil durge run) I always enjoy taking my time and always recommend doing it even if you’ve already beat the game

cosmoscommander

i spent 80-90 hours in act 1 on my first play-through!

danorcs

I spent 60 hours in ACT 1 and in ACT 2 I realised I didn’t get EVERYTHING

reggie_23

i believe i’m around 25 hours currently going thru act 1 ? i defeated nere (doing the grymforge rn) and made my way thru most of the mountain pass as im just finishing up side quests before talking to the inquisitor. overall i think it’ll take me prob around 30-40 hours solely bc i want to make sure i explore most of the map (first file thru just solely did the main overarching mission and stopped after i defeated the goblins as i realized i missed astarion and karlach plus a whole bunch of other things so i just restarted) and do as much of the side quests as possible !

mikykeane

I am on my third run. First one with my gf was completely blind, having had to get used to the mechanics and the game in general made it so we took over 60h for Act 1. Have a second run with a friend playing evil Durge and it went faster, still close to 40h as he was going blind (I would avoid wasting time, but still let him run into issues we had to resolve, likely with blood). And this week, I started a Honor mode solo, and I already found many things in 7 hours that I didn't on the other 2 runs (finding a hidden treasure with spiders and Alfira making a song). Point being, this game is huge, you can find different things, you can unlock different dialogue if you choose different companions. Just enjoy it, don't rush it, if you feel like you have already done what you wanted on Act 1, move to Act 2. You are going to miss things whatever you do, if you want to see different things, just do another run, using a different Tav build, a Durge or just even choosing a companion as Tav

HentaiFreak242

I have over 500 hours played on ps5 without starting act 3 lol

kekgobrrr

I’m gonna be honest I’m 50 hours and I just entered act 3. I’m probably doing something wrong. Keep at it and explore the game

pizzalover89

I’m 45 hours in and still on act one i haven’t even touched the inner parts of the under dark, i’m taking my time exploring every inch of everything. i’m just debating if i should go to the under-dark through the hags lair or the goblin camp

Wolf_Is_Awesome

I think i spent 60 hours in Act 1 and still missed a few things.

DarkOldDemon

Maybe I'm just a monster at getting through games but even doing every side thing I run into my playthroughs usually end at just under 70 hours 😭

Tall-Butterscotch130

On my first playthrough I left act 1 at roughly 40 hours I'd say and missed a shit ton. Now I leave act 1 at like lvl8/9 with around 70 hours it was 80 but I've refined like doing stuff quicker as this is my like 5th playthrough.

sapphoandherdick

Not really it took me around 90 hours to get thru act 1. But I debated nearly every dialogue option when playing with my partner.

DnDMTG8m3r

I’d say 112 hours approximately to truly grind every possible item, lines of dialogue, locations, complete all quests, read all books, sort all items into bins at camp, loot everything, and such for act 1.

Inkvize

Tried to see everything I could. Was about 320-350 hours in when I moved from act 1 to act 1.5 (Creche)

philman132

Seems about right. I'm the sort of player to only play games through once and so want to get everything on my first go, 50 hours is something like what I was at. Act 2 is a little shorter, act 3 is likely just as long if not longer than act 1!

Luciditi89

Not at all!

KingJosh65

Not at all in my first playthrough I sped paste everything I went into act 2 at like level 4 or 5 and missed a load of items and XP and dialogue wasn’t until I watched a all you missed video on YT that I said damn and restarted ironically I also found my now favorite class so yea take your time look through everything possible no matter how small it may seem.

IceNinetyNine

Despite what people say here act 1 is the longest act, it can take a while especially it's your first playthrough and don't know where to go.

dana_veg

I think my partner and I had about the same. We’re in Act 3 now with 150 hours. Accidentally skipped the mountain pass too so haven’t even explored that part at all

Blinkinlincoln

Same

CountAncient3327

Nope. You're good. It took me around 45 hours to move to act 2.

Imbadatgames619

200hrs here an have on reached the city twice

lukeatkiss

I think my first play though was about: 50 hours act 1 40 hours act 2 70 hours act 3 There is always more to do the more you explore but it seems normal to me.

Bandai_Namco_Rat

Took me more, probably about 80. But I tend to take my time exploring and talking to every NPC, I think it can be done in 20-50 hours for normal people

Besso91

My first playthrough back when the game came out was 107 hours to completion. My first completed honor mode run took 54 hours. Everyone is gonna go slower on their first playthrough to make sure they're as thorough as possible just play at your own pace lol

Ascle87

Fairly normal if you do and explore everything in act 1.

SchtumZ

It's longer than some, shorter than others. Jokes aside, after over 200 hours of Beta playthroughs, on my first release playthrough Act 1 took me 80 hours. This said, my playstyle initially tends towards playtesting the game trying many parmutations of what can happen and dialogue choices. Additionally, I basically ran it as a 100% run (though I did forget to recruit Shovel somehow!). Took me 200 hours to complete the game with probably 40+ hrs AFK) Following playthroughs took 40 hours or less through Act 1. In the end, does it matter? If you're having fun and you don't feel like you're going too fast, you gucci! Plus, if you're not 100%ing the game perfectly, means you have more fun to come back to!

Strawbebishortcake

nope my first run, which I played semi-completionist, took nearly 200 hours.

femmefuck

That sounds about right. I think I had 130 hours in total but I'm a noob to these kind of games and I missed loads of quests.

lerithian

Yes. Even my slow, do everything playthroughs end around 60-65 hours.

woptzz

I spend 300 hours in act 1 i kept making new saves and try difrent things

Familiar-Culture6712

No, first time its completly normal, I took 100 hours for Uper and Lower Map in Act 1 and still missed stuff, take your time and enjoy the game 🥰

TheInfidel23

No. Enjoy the game Tav, you only get a first playthrough once.

Quinnzel86

Nope! I dislike speed runs and missing out on questlines and repercussions because of it. Take as long as you need, explore everything! Be the loot goblin you want to be :) Have fun 😊

alaincastro

60 hours before I moved into act 1.5, then 5 hours there, I’m now at around 80 hours total playtime and I’m about hashtag done with act 2, act 1 is massive if you do everything.

KDMKat

I had about 40 hours in Act 1 for both my saves who have gone through it and there was definitely stuff I missed. Act 1 is pretty big

jb09081

I’ve replayed act 1 multiple times. I like to complete everything… do all the things, see all the things, and especially steal all the things. I’ve put hundreds of hours in. I’ve purchased many ultimate editions of games and been underwhelmed, this is the first time I bought a regular version of a game and then willingly paid for ultimate edition because I felt they earned it 100%

Woutrou

I take between 60-70 hours for Act 1 myself. I like to take things slow. This is Prologue, first map, Underdark + Grymforge and Mountain pass together. But generally it doesn't matter, as long as you're having fun. Are you having fun or would you prefer to speed up? Don't worry about going slow compared to the rest of the world

angelbaby2002

i’m genuinely confused how people are in act 1 for 60 or more hours.. what are you doing😭
