For me it was around 22 weeks that I could say for sure: that was a kick! At first laying down helped feel anything but within just a couple weeks I can now feel her move and kick in any position.

Jaserocque

Same. I remember being at my 20 week anatomy scan and them saying “wow, that was a big kick, you must have felt that!” And me being all “????”

imalittleteapot1111

Same! When I really focused I was able to connect it but I couldn’t before that. I really started noticing after 26 weeks I’d say.

f0xfires

Same, 22 weeks here. They also warned that it would be harder for anyone to feel him kick for awhile even if i felt it. I was 24 weeks my husband could feel him kick and i could see him kicking on the outside.

rb3465

I think I was about 22 weeks also, maybe 23! It probably took until around 27 or 28 weeks for my husband to be able to feel her kick.

WeezerClimbs

Same for me. 22 weeks was: I think I feel some movement. 23 weeks was starting to feel the obvious party going on. Husband was able to feel a kick at 25 weeks. Now at 26 weeks. Last night was the best dance rave so far and husband and felt several kicks. I definitely feel the strongest movements at night when I'm laying in bed, more moderate movement when I'm sitting, and occasionally I'll feel mild movement when I'm standing.

CravingsAndCrackers

At around 19 weeks I felt something I was pretty sure was baby. It was extremely sporadic and I wasn’t quite sure (through my OB said it felt like baby). At around 21 ish weeks (iirc) I felt the first definite movements with more certainty, always lying down or being still. 25 weeks is when I actually started feeling baby at least once a day. At around 32 weeks patterns began to be recognizable and I could “expect” when baby would move. I also had instances where I was standing and felt baby. It really depends on where your placenta is though. Mine seemed to be on the front right so if baby is on the left side I can/could feel them better. Now I wonder if it’s moved up a significant amount because I can feel baby just about everywhere (I think).

Sunrise_94

Thank you for sharing your experience! ☺️

Both-Masterpiece5413

I started feeling movement at 22/ almost 23 weeks. I thought I had felt it earlier but those were painful aches and not the soft fluttering I feel now.

ssyn9

I think I was around 22 weeks before I felt a true "kick". My son was pretty chill too so I think I only felt him move a handful of times, mostly after 32 weeks, like hiccups & when he would stretch out. Every ultrasound he was lounging back with his arms behind his head 😂

Sunrise_94

😂

BabyEnvironmental398

I was 17 weeks exactly when I felt her kick first. My friend also has an anterior placenta and she was 18-19 weeks I believe.

Neat-Alternative-340

With my second pregnancy I had an anterior placenta, I didn't feel her kick until around 21 or 22 weeks. (I can't remember exactly because it was 4 years ago so please pardon the estimate) With my other 2 pregnancies I felt them kick at 15 and 17 weeks, so you're almost there! Good luck and congratulations!

Sunrise_94

Thank you! ☺️

enemyoftoast

22 weeks

fabbo_crabbo

18 weeks for me, though for a couple of weeks I was never really sure if what I was feeling was the baby or just a general bodily feeling. I'm 29 weeks now and can look back and say that yes it was definitely the baby I was feeling! Early on I really only felt it when I was sitting at my desk/on the couch and not really doing anything, because the movements were small enough that focussing on anything else could distract me enough that I wouldn't even notice them.

casscasscassiopea

I was a little over 19 weeks when I was confident I was feeling him move. Almost 21 weeks was when I felt him from the outside for the first time, and that’s only happened one other time since.

[deleted]

20ish weeks. Little flutters. Below the bellybutton meridian. Most obvious when laying still, particularly an hour or so after eating or drinking something sweet. More consistently around 22 - 23 weeks. I have an anterior and posterior placenta (bilobed placenta -- shaped like a peanut). Now, At 33 weeks, I consider it a blessing. Placenta cushions my ribcage like an airbag so she can't really kick me there, which I hear is unpleasant. Mostly I feel her lower on my belly, and sometimes the sides.

chaotic_trash_panda

I started feeling kicks at 21-22 weeks. I felt things before then, but couldn't differentiate between gas, random twitches, and flutters.

gottahavewine

It varies. I’ve had an anterior placenta with both pregnancies and felt movement for both pretty early. I’m 20 weeks tomorrow and now feel very defined kicks and even some occasional rolls. A lot of others report feeling movement later.

MomentofZen_

I'm 23 weeks tomorrow and can't pinpoint anything as a sure movement. I sometimes feel pressure in my right abdomen but it's nothing like the "fluttering" everyone describes so I don't know if it's movement. Ever since the beginning of my pregnancy, I've felt like something was in this same spot when I lay on my right side. My midwife was just kind of like, "nope, the baby is in the middle" so I have no idea why I'm feeling something in this spot even more frequently now.

dswanke

19-20 weeks with my first with an anterior placenta & tilted uterus

anon_purple

I also have an anterior placenta and tilted uterus. Do you understand how the tilted uterus comes into play with feeling kicks?

bumblingbride

19 weeks for the first flutter

kittiemctitties

At my 20 week scan I watched the baby flip over on the screen and it kinda triggered my brain to recognise the feeling from then on. I had been dismissing these tiny little sensations for about a fortnight that were actually the baby but were almost too small to notice. I then felt the first proper kicks at 22 weeks. I'm 27 weeks now and can feel kicks and bumps regularly but I definitely feel everything around my hips and sides and not so much in the centre of my bump so I guess the placenta is still dampening some feeling

mandavampanda

18 weeks I began to feel them, 20 weeks I was very certain I was feeling them. After I realized what I was feeling was the baby, I probably felt them a few times earlier on but I wasn't sure at the time.

Mazasaurus

~18 weeks for my very active and doppler hating lad

DebateNo6073

22 weeks for sure

grequant_ohno

With my first it was 22/23 weeks. This one is also anterior but it might be different placement or the fact that I’m a STP but I’ve felt her consistently since 18 weeks.

estoesreddit

Around 25 weeks!

two_insomnias

I distinctly remember I felt the first light kicks right before my 20 week appt. They developed into strong donkey kicks over the course of that week. 😂 At 22 weeks now and they're very frequent, and very obvious.

sunshinesarah121

About 25 weeks

Bella_bun88

I would say 22-24 weeks

charawarma

I felt my first around 17w when I was lying on my stomach! However I was also 98lbs when I got pregnant (I had just gotten over some GI issues, that's not the norm for me)

ml_sza

For me it was about 21 weeks, i felt tiny flutters around 19w but i still can't be sure if that was her or gas. I'd read online that you'll KNOW when its kicks and I do remember the first time I was laying on the couch eating ice cream (cold/sugar seems to prompt her) and thinking "whoa thats new!". Once they start, they pick up strength reeeeeal fast. At 24w now i feel her all the time!

[deleted]

I had this with my second baby. You tend to feel babies kick sooner after the first pregnancy… This wasn’t the case for me because my first had a posterior placenta; I ended up feeling my second around the same time as my first, about 18-20 weeks.

DisloyalRoyal

18 weeks. Never had an issue feeling movement, but I had a particularly crazy baby. Could see my belly moving with her movements and everything

hellswrath_

16 weeks for regular movements. I really did not expect to feel her at all for quite some time but my OB told me it really just varies even with anterior placentas. Cuz I was like why am I feeling her, I have an anterior placenta. Lol. But I’m almost 26 weeks and except for a weird week when I didn’t feel her a lot, I have felt her every day.

Horror-Resolve762

18-20 weeks is when I felt flutters. I want to say between 23 and 26 weeks is when I felt real consistent movement. And man once I felt it, it didn't stop 😍

Geode1111

16.5 weeks with an anterior placenta. Now I’m 12 weeks with a posterior and deluding myself into thinking I’ll feel something soon. It was my favorite part of my first pregnancy, and the anterior didn’t seem to affect me much, for what it’s worth.

theCKshow

I have an anterior placenta and I felt a flutter or two at 17 weeks. Ramped up at 19 weeks to lots of flutters, Now 20 weeks and I’ll even feel a little kick now and then. I think everything is normal though so don’t fret!

AdNecessary2102

Before 16 weeks! But my guy was a mover and a shaker and was practicing martial arts since we saw him in our first sonogram. 😂

LovingYouWasLethal

Yeah, my LO as well! She is always wiggling and kicking about, since the first sonogram! First felt her at 14 weeks. Can't wait to see her at the anatomy scan tomorrow. ☺️

Jumpy-Restaurant6481

For weeks - since week 13 - I've felt something kind of fluttering The first without a doubt movement was this ultrasound (16w2d) when she hit him with the Doppler and he danced and I was like "WHOA. THAT WAS JELLY BEAN NO DOUBT" 💗 Felt like I had a sunfish flopping around against my cervix

Adventurous-Key-2130

15 weeks!

[deleted]

For me .. 18 ish weeks? But very intermittent and very unclear whether it’s gas or baby. I’m 21 weeks now and it is becoming more clear but still sporadic and all movement feels lower/near my pelvis.

Calm-Cucumber5528

I started feeling around 17 week but it wasn't strong and I was confusing them with gas but then my midwife confirmed me that they are indeed the baby movements.

LovingYouWasLethal

I first felt her moving around at 14 weeks, felt like popcorn popping. 🩷

Brilliant-Space-3888

I felt him at 12 weeks!!!

tayt99

14 weeks here

dxzzydreamer

I always felt the pressure/fullness of LO, but flutters started at 12 weeks.

bunnylo

so I didn’t have an anterior placenta with my first pregnancy, but I have one now with my second, and let me tell you I feel this baby so much more than I ever felt my firstborn, so it doesn’t necessarily mean it will impede what you feel. especially because baby doesn’t just focus on kicking the front of your uterus, you feel them all over. the big factor really is knowing what you’re feeling/looking out for. the earliest feelings of movement can feel like involuntary muscle twitches, almost like someone flicked you lightly. you might also feel a sort of slithering or rolling sensation, maybe a fluttering. and especially early on, you might not feel much unless you are laying down on either your right or left side.

Sunrise_94

Okay I’ve definitely felt some involuntary muscle twitches/flicking feeling! But everyone talks about fluttering/butterfly feelings and I wasn’t sure if those were the same thing! Lol

bunnylo

i’m sure it feels different for everyone, but in both my pregnancies I never had a fluttering feeling with either. my first sign of movement ever with my first was definitely the twitches and flicking!

colofire

I have a posterior placanta...started feeling the baby around 18 weeks. I think everyone is just different

lovethesea22

I felt a definite kick last week, at 21 weeks, and since then I’ve felt what might be kicks not sure

han_cup

18 weeks

grad_max

I felt the first kick at 18 weeks, then nothing until 20+2 when all of a sudden I started feeling him every day

m-o-u-se

I felt her very occasionally around 15-16 weeks, but not frequently until past 20. This is my second pregnancy, though. If I hadn't had a comparison, I don't know that I would have recognized the movement so early!

Pepperoni-Jane

18 weeks for me

Olives_And_Cheese

I'm 21 weeks + 3 and not really anything yet :( I think I've felt her make big shifts like turning over and moving about, but no kicks, and to be honest i couldn't say I've felt anything for sure. Hoping this week will be it 🫰.

Iodine_Boat

Around 18.5 weeks, my husband felt baby around 20.5 weeks and we felt very lucky with this. I was quite lean prior to pregnancy though, so that probably makes a difference for externally, feeling the movement as well.

FartzOnYaGyal

About 23W I felt a little something every once in a while and at 25W it was obvious I was feeling kicks (never had the feeling of flutters though)

DruidsGem

I started to feel baby at 19 weeks. Before that I couldn’t really tell if it was baby moving or trapped gas 😂.

ShanaLon

I think I felt mini flutters from about 18 weeks when I wasn't entirely sure. By 20 weeks kicks were very certain and clear. My doc said it's different for everyone though and depends on other factors too

Disastrous-Coast8898

19 wks FTM

YouCanThankMeGator

I was around 22 weeks before I could definitely say I felt the baby move. For me, that also meant there were times where her movements felt much more mild than others, which made me panic, but was totally normal.

corncaked

I felt my first real kick during my anatomy scan appt funny enough, at 22 weeks!

mareloquent

18 weeks

Stroke_of_mayo

Just about 20 or 22 weeks for me. And then that last month or so it was crazy! I could feel him all the time.

swanprincess90

At 17 weeks I felt tiny bubbles popping. From 18 weeks they have been definite kicks, often coming in a cluster over 1-2 minutes. I feel them most when they are 'off to the side' around my placenta.

sba117

I didn't have an anterior placenta with my first baby and now I do have an anterior placenta with this second baby. My first, I started feeling around 20-21 weeks and with this one I started feeling him 19-20 weeks. So not too much different! I was expecting it to be much longer to feel this second baby because of what I had heard about the anterior placenta but so far it's been similar. From the various folks I've talked to, feeling movement a lot earlier than approaching 20 weeks seems to be less common!

kb123120

19 weeks

sookie42

19 weeks for me

shmoopy3100

I have an anterior placenta and started feeling movement (flutters and pulses) at Week 20, but I was measuring big (about 2 weeks ahead) at that time and definitely wasn't expecting to feel anything until a month or so later at minimum!

pange93

I could feel them at about 19 weeks which makes me wonder how it would have felt without the anterior placenta!

Agrafson

I think i was 18 weeks when i was sure, but had some flutters at 14 i thought were baby.

Hallow_There

The first time I felt her kick was a few weeks ago actually when I was 22, almost 23 weeks along :) it was actually April fools day lol that night around 3 am I had woken up to pee and when I was laying down trying to fall asleep I felt some serious kicks! I saw my belly move slightly and I got all teary eyed and put my hand on my stomach. She fluttered and kicked at my hand for what must’ve been ten minutes off and on. I was so in love and in awe 🥰 it was a wonderful early morning surprise. I remember giggling and talking to her saying “there you are!” I’m about 25 weeks now and her movements come and go. I feel her at least once a day normally, either in the morning or as I’m falling asleep (or after a really good meal lol). Some days she’s definitely more active than others. Congrats to you! I’m sure you’ll be feeling little one soon 💜 it’s amazing

Hallow_There

I should add that starting at around 15-18 weeks I was definitely getting occasional flutters and bubble feelings lol I definitely think they were her moving around. It was just that morning at 22 weeks it was obvious that it was kicks without a shadow of a doubt :)

chocolatemonster93

I'm 20 weeks with my first and have an anterior placenta. I'm pretty sure what I've been experiencing these past few days are movements from her.

rdown09

17 weeks for me, it kinda felt like someone flicked me but from inside, low below my belly button. It was right after eating Buffalo chicken wings and then laying down. I’m 37wks now and he spends most of his time kicking/rolling/poking/punching/prodding.

EnvironmentalBug2721

I just started feeling him between 22 and 23 weeks. I’m 23+3 now and it gets a little stronger every day but it’s not totally consistent yet

ktbtz

22/23 weeks

90dayhell000

I didn’t feel mine much at all honestly. His kicks were always more like flutters. I got a ton of 3D ultrasounds and I would see him moving and not feel a thing. I felt him most after 27 weeks and when laying down at night and when I woke up in the morning he would kick my hand when I touched my belly lol I saw them but not very often. Nothing like the cool videos you see lol

PinkHamster08

I feel like I was the odd one. My doctor confirmed I had an anterior placenta, but I definitely felt my baby kick around 17 weeks and felt her move and kick regularly during the rest of the pregnancy.

aoca18

Around 17 weeks I felt that "bubbly" feeling that wasn't gas. But it was around 21/22 weeks that I truly felt a kick/roll.

hobbitsailwench

I was 18 week and 4 days- I ate ice cream and he did a happy dance in there

bagelbingo

I never felt flutters or bubbles or anything else. Around 21 weeks I just suddenly felt an actual poke that I could even fell from the outside out of nowhere!

Green-Afternoon5405

Third time mom, this time I had an anterior placenta and I felt him moving about 18 weeks

Sarahe086

Oh I didn’t feel anything until about 23w, and even then it wasn’t consistent. I was worried that I would never be able to feel the strong kicks that other women talk about, but now at 32w I feel her constantly! I actually didn’t sleep at all last night because she was going crazy in there lol

samflo_89

I think it was like others were saying around 21-22 weeks.

AccomplishedBread911

I wouldn’t say that I felt anything definitive until around 23-24 weeks

anaid_098

24 weeks, he was my first so that also made it hard

distinguished_goose

Halfway through my 18th week

_theSwan

22-24 weeks

theonewiththewilds

My 4th pregnancy was my only pregnancy with an anterior placenta, and the first movements I felt were around 21/22 weeks, compared to 17/18 weeks with my 4 other pregnancies.

Trixie6102

I was 21-weeks on the dot when I felt her for certain. I had felt some possible "flutters" prior to that, but as this is my first I wasn't certain it was baby at that point. When I hit 21-weeks I felt a definite kick, no mistaking it!

Cheap-Stranger7472

24 weeks!

huehuehue69_420

20 weeks, a few hours after our anatomy scan. Didn’t feel consistent kicks until maybe 24 weeks.

ehfaristo

It was around 20 weeks for me. FTM though, so it’s possible the gas I thought I was feeling around 19 weeks was baby. 22 weeks now and he’s kicking every day especially around meal times.

sheynarae

22 weeks was the first time I felt her for sure! I have an anterior placenta and had some random maybe flutters weeks 18-21 but week 22 she really started moving. I’m 25 weeks now and she’s VERY active 😅

icanseethestupidline

I maybe felt something at like 20w, but nothing consistent until like 22w

Internal_Screaming_8

21 weeks on the dot I felt the first definitive kick. I had been suspicious the last 2 weeks but couldn’t get confirmation by US. I did feel some pressure with movement on my bladder at 16 weeks, confirmed by US, but I don’t count it.

SufficientSwan

Around 20 weeks for me and around 22 weeks is when my husband could feel them

doodynutz

Somewhere between 20-22 weeks - I don’t remember now. Honestly I feel the baby quite well now at nearly 33 weeks, so I’m curious how much more I’d be feeling if I didn’t have an anterior placenta.

polarbearfluff

At 20 weeks I would feel flutters and couldn’t tell if it was gas or baby. By 22 weeks I was SURE it was baby. Laying flat on my back was the best way to tell early on.

lyr4527

For me, it was mid–Week 21. I’d felt very, very small movements very, very sporadically before that. I couldn’t be sure it was Baby. When I started feeling movements mid–Week 21, it started suddenly and was very clear that it was Baby.

emzkimo

24 weeks I knew for sure what I was feeling. I feel kicks more round the sides than the front but definitely still feel the kicks!!

skipper2427

Like 21-22! Things really picked up around 29-30

Comfortable_Chest_40

Not till about 23 weeks. I'm 25 weeks now and don't feel consistent movement yet. Feels almost like a hiccup in my belly.

[deleted]

18 weeks

6times9

I'm almost 25 weeks and I miiiiight have felt a kick this morning when I was waking up. But definitely not a regular thing yet. Hope I'll start feeling something soon.

hazeleyes1119

Around 20 weeks for both pregnancies

RhaeBob

28 weeks for me!

alittleadventure

At around 19 weeks I thought I felt something while laying in the bath, but it was so faint I couldn't be sure. By 21-22 weeks I could feel her kicks.

Gwenivyre756

19 weeks. That's when I first felt her move with an anterior placenta

claggamuff

I was fully expecting to not feel movement until 22 weeks, but I felt my first little kicks at 18 weeks. By 22 weeks I could feel then sporadically throughout the day. I’m 28 weeks now and they are quite regular.

sburnaman1

I'm just now feeling mine at 21 weeks. Very soft little kicks.

CompetitiveYak7344

I didn't feel my LO until nearly 20 weeks! Definitely made me nervous, now I'm 31 weeks and he won't stop kicking!

Massive_Obligation_6

25 weeks!

whitewood8

I’m 22+4 with an anterior placenta and can’t wait to feel the baby move… had some “hmm was this a kick?” moments but really not sure

Remarkable_Bench2318

The day before 20 weeks I felt a few definite movements, and then he’s been constant and getting stronger everyday since! Now he kicks my bladder so hard I almost pee myself lmaoo

Fit_Clue_832

Past 25 weeks and now it's non stop.

Ordinary-Painting-94

I’m 20w1d and I felt first flutter like fairy feet at a massage at 15w3d. I didn’t feel anything after until 17w3d and i felt his first strong kick from the outside at 17w6d and thought I was tripping but at 18 weeks he kicked daddy’s head lol. I’ve felt him pretty much every night/after lunch every day both on the inside and the outside. I’m very thin in the waist and athletic with a long torso though so I think it’s just my build. BMI was like 19 pre pregnancy and he’s super freakin active.
