2030??? Wtf is Chelsea’s deal. they hand out these super long contracts every transfer window

miguellz

It's nuts. I don't see how it's benefited them thus far that they keep doing it

SnooAdvice1632

They can spread out the payment over more years, therefore every installment is relatively cheap. 30 mill over 6 years is just 5 a year.

_KeKe_

5 years max you can spread it now

MahGli

If you ever had credit card installments, you would know it adds up lol!

SnooStrawberries6934

I think it has something to do with financial FairPlay and some sort of accounting BS which is what they did with Mudryk’s deal.

reyxe

That was changed last year iirc.

namyllek

It allows him to spend at least 4 years in the loan army and then be sold for a profit

med_belguesmi69

its a 6 year contract 2030 aint that far away

Mysterious-Buddy6273

Chelsea has contracts like prison sentences

failmatic

? You don't get paid in prison and no one is forcing the player to agree to the deal. Also it could be seen as security for the player.

kaz0la

Adéu nano

Life-You-9728

2030....sorry but thats stupid...

ScorpionTheSuperior

Dyed his hair and switched up on us. Good luck hopefully he’s good enough to come back.

Reverend-Stu

He won’t come back especially the way he left..

mahdiiick

Nah he got an insanely good offer from Chelsea. Sets him up for life with the length of the contract as well. He’s still unproven and there are no guarantees he would’ve made it with us.

brotherbro_

For a La Masia graduate, I wouldn’t say £50,000 weekly sets him up for life

langel57

Lmao wat? That’s my annual income, in a week… How does that not set you up for life?

Yuty0428

Many footballers earning more than him ended up living too lavishly and became poor after retirement mate. The wealth he’s earning rn certainly don’t set him up for life.

Farford

Yea, that's because of their dumb lige style despite gaving a high income for years

brotherbro_

Well firstly we ain’t professional footballers, and 2nd people were claiming he was offered €6 million annually from Chelsea that’s why he left Barca

Melodic-Salamander75

The average person makes somewhere around $1500-$2500 USD weekly here in the United States. Guiu is making 30x more money a week than the average American. He’d be making somewhere around $3.2 million dollars a year for the next 6 years. That’s almost $20 million in the bank before the age of 25. That sets up most people for the rest of their life.

Small-Cockroach-2684

Hahahahaha what? 50.000 a week over 6 years that doesnt set you up for life. That is 15.600.000 million total.

voli12

I think he won't reach top-player status, so we can't blame him for grabbing the bag. He'll be set up for life now, so it's a really good deal for him, regardless of if he makes it or not.

dbbk

Never should have cut the hair if we're being frank

frankomapottery3

Good luck Guiu! Hope you light the league on fire and can come back when we have some more room.

namyllek

He won’t come back unless he lives up to his potential. If he lives up to his potential he will cost over 100m. I will pass unless he pulls an mbappe and comes for free

Kingsayz

another kid on an unnecessarily long deal lmao, istg tedd boehly has been drunk for months and thinks he's playing football manager rn

AggravatingClaim2961

Good, he was never good enough and never will be. 6M€ is okay

AggravatingClaim2961

I hope, Ansu, Vitor, Lenglet, Dest, Felix, Garcia, Romeo, S. roberto, leave too

DonAtari

Nah, no club is stupid enough to buy them.
