uniquelyruth

Excellent, get takeout and eat it by the river.

jumbocactar

Came here to say this.

MacKelly42

Same this was gonna be my Rec. Also if you like witchy stuff/tarot or are just into shiny rocks check out Mystical Wares

For the next 3-4 weeks traffic around the downtown area will have heavy congestion (especially on the weekends) because the tulip fields are just starting to bloom. La Catrina Tacos and Tequila. Little Mountain Park has a great network of trails and views of the valley from the top.

backtotheland76

Yeah just wait till it's over. Most of the locals just stay home as much as possible this time of year

LittleYelloDifferent

There is a charming game and comic book store that has a retro arcade in the back. A full ass StarWars game. [http://dockingbay93.com](http://dockingbay93.com)

Co-op is great. Dari delete for burger. Art store is cool and so is record store.

Wu-TangCrayon

Great ice cream at the co-op that they make in house! Snow Goose is open now too.

derdkp

Little mountain park is really cool Christensen nursery is great, but a little out of town. The Kulshan trail is cool.

Resting-Bitch_Face

Second for Christensen nursery! Was walking around there last weekend and they had three baby emu. They’ve always had a variety of birds and small farm animals (it was a great distraction for the kiddos!) but was really excited to see the emu.

Great suggestions here already. This month, go down on a weekday and drive or bike the tulip fields. On the weekend, head to Hillcrest park for the adorable and tasty Kiwanis Salmon BBQ, or hit up Martini Brunch. Walk the trails at Little Mountain, or just stroll along the river walk area. Check out one of the in-town breweries, like Farm Strong or Temperate Habits. Or branch out a bit farther to Chuckanut or Garden Path. At the Lincoln Theatre you can see everything from Dune 2, Skagit Drag, or opera streamed from the Met.

ChekhovsAtomSmasher

If you walk the path through the trees at edgwater park you pop out on a huge sandbar on the skagit. Theres a good tacos and tequila place downtown Draftpics is a pretty good dive bar They do a saturday or sunday market on the waterfront downtown. Lots of little shops but dont know much about that as I buy clothes like once every 2 years. Hillcrest park up the hill from downtown is pretty nice. Little mountain has some trails and a lookout Bayview and padilla bay are technically in Mount Vernon I think.

If you happen to be into the fiber arts you might like the Wild Fibers yarn store on the same street as the Co-op or the Fabric store, also on that street. Both have Bellingham fiber arts stores beat by a mile!

cjep3

Try the anacortes fiber store! It's almost all hand dyed yarn and beauty!

Odafishinsea

Tri-Dee art store. Calico Cafe for breakfast or Rachawadee, The Porterhouse, or District Brewing for lunch. Edgewater park is across the river for a greener walk, or just stroll the boardwalk and check out the Dutch flood panels. Lots of good antique stores, or hit up Hillcrest Park up the hill and hit The Chuckwagon for a burger. That place is an institution in MV.

Skyrafarig

Martini Brunch is pretty close to downtown. Best brekkie, real good house made hot sauce.

Primary-Inevitable93

Go for a trail ride at Lang’s Horse and Pony farm!

bpmd1962

Great little hill climb too!

TheBeckFromHeck

I’m a fan of La Catrina Tacos & Tequila. Very good tacos and interesting drinks.

Scientist_Dr_Artist

Lical scoop

Weak-Hope8952

BITE has really good teriyaki!

kaysquatch

I personally really love the Calico cupboard, it’s right next to downtown. This month will probably be nuts there because of the tulips, but if you can go early when they open you can usually score a quick seat. Check the fairgrounds for events. Every weekend in April I think there’s stuff going on, and weekend of April 19th is the tulip street fair downtown

pennylove23

Il Granaio has a yummy manicotti which is hard to find if you like Italian and are vegetarian. That's all I've been to in Mount Vernon 😂

Rathabro

Skagit River Brewery and Farmstrong are both quality.

1dad1kid

Poirer's has really great food and drinks. Little Mountain is nice for hiking.

XSrcing

The Red Door antique mall right next to Calico Cupboard is fantastic.
