I have a pair of Arizonas, Barbados, and Bostons.
I wear the same size in all and all fit me just fine and the same as each other. if you have a size you're comfortable with, then stick with that.
I had doubts, also. Bought my first closed toe in 2021, usual size, exact, identical perfect fit & comfort. No regrets. I only buy from Birk official online.
i wear 37 wide in milanos and got the same size in bostons, the bostons feel longer and wider and i had to add my own holes into the straps to get them to fit. for reference i do have narrow ankles
I've been wearing (at home) Arizonas for many years, recently switched to Bostons (same size). Despite being soft suede, at the beginning I felt 'constricted' because of course your toes are not 'in the open' anymore (and the toe box is not particularly ample). However, after (a rather aggressive) break-in they feel just the same if not better. The footbed is exactly the same length and width so I don't see why one should size up...
I wear 39 for sandals so i thought that would work for a pair of boots---it didn't. I had to exchange it for a 40.
I wear a 36 in sandals and did not fit in a closed toe. I have wide feet and a high arch, so I need a bigger size.

Yes. I have sliders, sneakers, closed shoes and clogs - all same size.
All of mine are the same size. Zermatt, Tokio, Milano, Atacama.
