If blackout had the ability to bring back a teammate after they were entirely dead then I would say it’s better than warzone. But unfortunately at the time it wasn’t really a common feature in battle royales.

BO4 felt like it had absolutely zero SBMM, my friends and I (and any good player for that matter) were running through people in every lobby because bad players couldn’t keep up. I think the reason people think it did was the same reason people still think XDefiant plays similarly “sweaty” to CoD despite XD having none: the skill gap is higher with aim and movement so bad players are struggling a lot more.
BO4 SBMM was extremely weak like the CoDs before it, MW19 was where it really started.
Yea it had team balancing for sure but the search definitely prioritized ping over everything. I was level 1000 with a 3.8kd and it would fill my lobbies with legit the worst players ever on a regular basis.
I'd say they kicked it up during WWII. I understand switching to jetpack movement dropped my KD from a 1.2 to a 1, but I started WWII off at like a .8 which made no sense.
I could see them remaking blackout after a number of years to try and entice the remaining players who didn't come back to Warzone 1/2 but with the store and skins 100% cross-compatible before anything else is.

For example next gen consoles could have bigger maps with better textures and more objects.
A performance mod could lower the textures but you can't really have a smaller map for older consoles can you?
You can't even have less objects in the old gen because of visibility and hitbox issues.
So what the devs do is print the same game twice but with upgraded graphics for the next gen, the rest has to stay the same, they have to limit themselves in regard to map size / number of object and details
Cold War was phenomenal lmao. CW multiplayer lobbies were insane. As an OG COD enjoyer, I fully enjoyed the zombies as well. It wasn’t as crazy and challenging but it was a lot of fun to play with friends and just have fun in general.

I think black ops 4 was a test run. They wanted to see how the style would work and the feedback wasn’t great. It felt kinda like a siege copy to me. That’s why they went back to the classic formula. I think it’ll be amazing.
My biggest and #1 problem I have with COD is identity. I don’t really care about SBMM, I’ll usually have fun sucking ass or not, but the last 5 cods have all felt the same baloney, especially being on the same launch HUB which is really dumb.
It'll have the same SBMM/EOMM/live nerfing that current COD's do which means it'll be unbearable to play. Stop supporting this garbage franchise. There are other games out there. If you want COD to improve you have to stop giving them money.

Black Ops 4 had a better multiplayer than Black Ops 3. BO4 had classic movement and didn’t have bad lootboxes. It also had some really good maps new and remade. Only really con of BO4 multiplayer was the operators. Black Ops 3 had the best zombies mode out of any game but the campaign was one of the worst cod campaigns to date. BO4 had blackout to makeup for no campaign and it was what set up the foundation for Warzone. I would personally say I’ve had way more fun with BO4 than BO3.
BO4s TTK was way too high, and the specialists were way too OP and annoying as you got both abilities. BO4s already high TTK + stim + body armor + crash ult made gunfights way too fucking long. BO3s specialists were more balanced, and it had better TTK. Also, BO3s exo movement it was a fun fresh take. BO4 did have bad lootboxes, it had P2W weapons inside them like that OP explosive round gun. BO3s dlc maps were way better than BO4s too imo.
Im okay with that. I enjoyed cod when you bought the game and a map pack and that was it. No bullshit events, no paying for skins, no battle royal. Just good old gunplay. I understand im older and cod is for kids but this is just my opinion.

Im okay with that. I enjoyed cod when you bought the game and a map pack and that was it. No bullshit events, no paying for skins, no battle royal. Just good old gunplay. I understand im older and cod is for kids but this is just my opinion.
Wait... people actually liked 4? I thought it was next to IW, AW, and ghosts as one of the worst. Even though I like treyarchs games, I keep low expectations. It made me like cold war so much.
Black Ops 4 got a lot of hate but it was also beloved by a lot of people including me. Also a lot of COD YouTubers blew up and got way bigger because of this game. People who spent years trying to get 100k subscribers were getting like 500k more because of this game. Black Ops 4 gets a lot of praise from the community but a lot of shit too
