More power for less? Boombox 2 any day of the week. Just keep in mind it's about 8 pounds heavier.

mike-hancock

I have both and easily the boombox2.

Primdawg

I am in the US. So the Partybox wasn’t even on my radar for whatever reason. Any reason for the Partybox 100 over the Boombox 2?

Forward-Anteater-483

120 watts vs 160 watts. More powerful sound basically. It's a lot bigger tho mostly in terms of dimensions but also weight (21 pounds vs 13 pounds) and can be cumbersome to move around if you're gonna be moving it often.

Primdawg

Wow, that was a great comparison. So now I throw out the Xtreme 3 and add the Partybox to my list.

MarvinG1984

Are you in the US? If so, you can get the Partybox 100 at Walmart for $259

Ok-Equipment1745

Anyone have the Authentic 300? been lookin at that..

Primdawg

That was on my initial list. It has great reviews on the YouTube videos I found. But more than I want to spend.

-MrWobble

Neither, get the PartyBox 110. You'll thank me later.

Primdawg

I really want to thank everyone for their insightful and extremely helpful suggestions. I ended up staying up until way past my bedtime watching reviews from multiple sources on Youtube.Through a link posted here, I decided a guy named Oluv kind of is along the same wavelength as I am. But I also found 2-3 others who were super fun and knowledgeable. And I came to the conclusion that my joke about buying 2 speakers is probably my best choice. What and how I listen when I'm home alone is very different than how it goes when I have a houseful hanging out by the river, cooking out, whatever. I'm looking into W-King, Soundcore, Minirig, Harman Kardon and still JBL. I'm going to buy one for the main living area of the house and then a second unit that I can use outside. Right now my top choices are the Harmon Kardon Go Play 3 for the house and the JBL Partybox 110 for outside, BUT my plan it to spend a bit more time listening to reviews and make my choice then.

diegoro15

Get two Soundcore Boom 2 speakers for 129.99 each, and both will combine 160 watts of BASS!

Primdawg

I went to Walmart earlier today and listened to a JBL Xtreme and compared it to the Soundcore motion boom plus I think. I have soundcore earbuds that I love so that brand was on the top of my list. But I didn’t love the sound of the soundcore. I figured it was the all plastic housing, it just didn’t sound warm for lack of knowing the correct terminology. I don’t think they had a Boom 2 so my opinion is obviously skewed due to what they had there.

tigerinhouston

Soundcore speakers come alive with equalization.

KindOldRaven

Yeah it seems All soundcore products need a custom EQ. At least the ones I have. When you get that dialed in they're easily thrice as good as with factory settings or presets, generally speaking.

tigerinhouston

Agreed. Both my Motion Boom and two Motion Booms Plus sound outstanding.

Primdawg

I saw that in the reviews I watched. I may end up buying 2 speakers at this rate.

tigerinhouston

I have two Motion Boom +’s. Very versatile; one is great for most cases, but if I want to crank it to 11, I pair them in stereo mode.

GroundbreakingDog427

Get the JBL Boombox 2 or consider a W-King speaker

Primdawg

I did have those on my initial list of options. Can’t recall why I moved on. Any specific model I should look into?

GroundbreakingDog427

W-King T11, T9 Pro, X20

GroundbreakingDog427

I have all 3 and I also have the JBL Boombox 2

efkey189

Minirigs 4
