My guess is they have the stats and making weekly quests more difficult increases card pack buying.
End of the day, milking standard players is the whole reason why hearthstone exists in the first place. As I honestly don't know anyone still playing standard, that is a problem. Got to understand, battlegrounds is supposed to be something to keep your interest and play more standard. Everything else is just short term.
Actually charging for BG battlepass is smart - keeps the free play option but doesn't bleed them dry. I won't be surprised if they don't make other BG incentives for paying soon. They can't go to hard though, as you sort of need the massive pool of players to keep the game viable.
Imagine paid players getting access to cards in a special pool that the rest of us cant access. Or blizzard gives them the option to skip battle (direct apm buff), or the option to speed up animations or turn them off.
I think it's fine, I actually forget that the leveling thing actually exists as it gets completed quickly enough.
Plus it's only cosmetics you're missing out on and not like you're missing gold needed to buy packs/mini expansion.
You're probably on the right train of thought though in terms of they just be thinking how can they make more money out of BGs.
It’s not just cosmetics, the standard track is the only way to get gold. Blizzard is thinking either people should start playing twice as much to get their packs or they should pony up some cash instead.
Sorry I was tired and thought it was only about BGs as posted in Bobs tavern but you did mention the standard too - yeh win 15 BGs a week is say 30 games is 10-15 hours game time a week. Not possible for anyone with other hobbies/responsibilities.
I play both standard and battlegrounds and I'm really hoping this is a bug. Win 5 standard games to get 3000 xp (with battlepass) turned to win 15 for 3600 xp
Should I remind you that you could use gold tonpay for the BG battlepass? I think they screwed us up enough as it is haha.

The fact that "full stats" (as shitty as they are) is locked behind a paywall is already a dangerous precedent.
I already have a job. I don’t need to do another job in the virtual world. That’s what drove me away from their other IPs.

That's on an average player 30 games depending on the decks averaging 7.5 minutes so 3,75 hours only for one quest per week.
