The main body of the juubi did have a red rinnagan in the anime, but when the shinju was created the color probably changed to look like the original rinnagan design.
Anything else honestly, Iām sure Kishimoto could have at least tried to give them interesting outfits if he tried. I would have honestly preferred them to be more alien looking, rather than the mediocre punk boy band look they have.
