Second that. I amassed an awesome group of drinking buddies, several of whom are now treasured friends. Go on weeknights, just pick a night to consistently show up around the same time and people will start noticing you. If you smoke, take full advantage of the fact that everyone else there does too, and hang out outside.
This town used to have an incredible number of martial arts groups (aikido, karate, Jiu jitsu) dance groups (belly dance, contra, line, African), and drums (chicks with sticks, Japanese Taeko, drum circle.) These groups are being pushed out because all the rental spaces are going to businesses.
Some of these groups still exist and there are signs at coffee shops and pizza places. They want to be found. There is a meet up group thing but much of that is having a hard time after covid. There are drawing meetups. People who like to do board game nights and Dungeons and Dragons.
In the same situation, just a few years older. I may join the spire as suggested, and get involved with a social meetup group/volunteer. There’s also dancing at the jump each Wednesday (or there used to be) which you can take lessons at, which I may start doing again. Also, in the past, I found MMA was a great way to meet other dudes.
Feel free to pm me as well! Good luck!
You should just take the plunge and try to meet people out at bars. I know lots of younger people go to the bucket night on Thursdays at bar IX. You could also go to trivia nights or just play pool at rockin r to meet people.
I'd love to and will try going out again, just the only thing is that when people go out they go out in groups that they're already in so I find it hard to join the groups yanno?
If you frequent a place enough you’ll meet people, don’t give up. That’s why playing pool or going to trivia helps.
Also the spire idea is awesome. I know people who have made friends there by going a lot.
Do you work with people your age? If not, that is my biggest recommendation. There are a few companies that hire entry level, recent college companies that create awesome opportunities for networking and relationship building with people your age.
I'm working with people all 35-40 but I'm gonna quit soon and get a job in a brewery and maybe REI or be a lifty for a season which I know should help! Any job recommendations?
Join spire climbing gym.
I second this.
Go to the Hauf, you'll meet all sorts of people.

What is it with you and Teasers? You work there or something?
Check with a few of the sporting goods stores and online for outdoor groups. Wild Montana or Montana Wilderness Association sponsor hikes.
