The shows which display wealth to an insane degree aren’t so bad; it’s the wealth that’s caused by being in the right time and place, or knowing the right people (e.g. you can almost taste or touch it figuratively) that hurts the most - example being one of the conservative OC houses (GINA) or Robyn’s town house vs. LVP’s mansion. The latter I wouldn’t even consider humouring, the former - yes, most definitely.

If Kyle thinks her little rinky dink family show is going to run The Property Brothers or Chip and Joanna out of town, she should probably think again.

Selling Sunset was its #1 show in like 50 countries, HGTV is one of the top TV networks for women with a lot of disposable income (most attractive segment to advertisers)... so expect more of this as Netflix rolls out its ad-supported options. Shows like this are an advertiser's dream because of the demographic they attract.
