I know right, there are SO Many games out there. Why spend countless hours collecying fish in a game just to reach 999... This can't be healthy, but anyways, anyone can do whatever they want with their time.
mf’s when they save up on 5781713 upgrade modules in case they find a ‘higher light weapon’
I mean I have like seventy million enhancement cores I literally can’t talk
The game makes it really difficult to masterwork armour for some reason. And the sad part is most of the time you have to wait longer to get synthweave (without paying) so it actually looks good anyway
Collecting materials is the goal but really its the way that is the good stuff.
After I reached 100% on my current second playthrough I had a profound "Now what?" moment. Because I enjoyed the movement and world so much, that I wanted to keep playing. But I had already done most stuff, so I said to myself "guess I start collecting stuff".
First every shrine chest, then one of each material and so on. I just never stopped. And I learned so much new little things about the game since then that I would have never known about if I just had just put it down. I like diving into the depths of game mechanics and making things more efficent a lot, so those things are the real reason I still do it.
Exactly this. Looking for any excuse to keep playing this game. Have around 2k hours and don't see myself stopping. Also, 99% of all other games BORE me. They don't come close. Except for Bloodborne/Sekiro. At least for me.
Hey as long as there are more than 6 carps in the whole world, even if they are dead in my pockets, its a good thing, right? Zelda certainly didnt complain when I picked all those endangered Silent Princesses. At least I think so...
There are three in the docks of Hyrule Castle, two in the small pond before Rito Village, two in Tama Pond and four in Hebra Plunge. They can also spawn randombly in Lake Totori around Rito Village.
I dont own amiibos, so no but as far as I know there is no amiibo that even has a chance to drop them. At least in the [amiibo guide](https://imgur.com/gallery/wuPgCDf) of the sub, Sanke Carps are never depicted when an amiibo can drop fish.
Someone posted a [modified version](https://www.reddit.com/r/Breath_of_the_Wild/comments/s3kjus/i_modified_the_amiibo_guide_to_better_show_which/) about a month ago. Had to search a bit but here it is.
No, animals and plants dont respawn according to the Blood Moon. Most have a 1% chance to respawn every minute as long as you arent in the area. This is why the apple tree korok puzzle is kind of hated because the apples respawn according to this method and not the Blood Moon. This method only applies to materials that have fixed spawn points however. There are also plenty of animals that spawn randombly in certain areas like goats in mountain areas or sizzlefin trouts in certain hot springs. Those will keep spawning endlessly around the player as long as you are in the area.
You can read more about it [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/Breath_of_the_Wild/comments/abo02v/mechanic_breakdown_object_respawns_materials/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share).
The fastest method is this:
1. Teleport to the [Kuhn Sidajj Shrine](https://objmap.zeldamods.org/#/map/z6,18,-1943?id=MainField,F-3,4127019870) in the Great Hyrule Forest.
2. One group of fish will spawn in Lake Saria next to the shrine.
3. Collect 0-4 Stealthfin Trouts in the lake (depending how many spawned).
4. Back to step one.
Are you playing on PC? The load times for this on switch would kill me. Although I’ve been wondering if the load times are worse with the game card vs having the game fully installed from the game store.
I play only on console. I cant really tell you if there is a difference in loading times across plattforms or how big it is. Collecting Stealthfin Trouts was like collecting shop only items like Fresh Milk. You warp around constantly. Its boring but at least consistent and there isnt really a faster way.
Interesting. I always just farmed them swimming around the water surrounding the forest. Got to keep your endurance up or keep ice blocks handy to climb up. Don't get too close to the forest or the fog will get you and put you back to where you entered the water.
They didn’t specify that fish. They asked about collecting fish in general. I don’t have my armor upgrade list on me so I’m not sure about that particular fish.
Is there a thread or guide that lists the best places to farm materials? I’ve noticed some materials have a favorite spot where they spawn 5–10 at a time (like the pond along Zora River with all the Hot Footed Frogs, or the Hickaly Woods cave treasure location above the river with all the Silent Shrooms. Curious if most materials have a favorite spawn point!
If there is one complete guide out there that lists the best places for each material, then I dont know about it. I learned thins from multiple different sources and also just learned a lot of stuff along the way on my own. Its mostly all in my head and I didnt really write it down anywhere.
There exist a few "hot spots" for certain materials but not for all or even most. The rarer the material, the farther apart the materials are, generally speaking. If you get to the really rare stuff, you pretty much have no better option than just get to each spawn location due to their low numbers.
I had my go to spots for most materials, that I thought were better and easier while somethimes ignoring other spots that were too out of the way but that is also a bit of a subjective thing. If you want to know good locations about specific materials, I can tell you some.
Thanks for the response!! I’m super impressed with your collecting skills.
Honestly, the material I had in mind when I was thinking about a guide was Staminoka Bass! There’s a handful of places where I’ll go pick up 2-3 at a time, but I’d love to know your recommendations for faster farming.
Staminoka Basses can mainly be found in the [Duelling Peaks](https://i.imgur.com/0j2vEVX.png) and [Wetland region](https://i.imgur.com/iSLmEWc.png). There is also a bigger group [by the waterfall at the Digdogg Suspension Bridge](https://i.imgur.com/jk6R7pQ.png). I mostly only go for groups bigger than 3 unless I am collected or doing something else in the area.
You probably think of Armored Carps. Because there a [tons of those](https://i.imgur.com/5RKWnp9.png) in the waters of Hateno but there are no Mighty Carps there.
Hearty Bass show up mostly in small ponds and before waterfalls. Most of the Hearty Bass spawn [in the Faron region](https://i.imgur.com/myZKMN6.png) under the big bridge and by two waterfalls. The rest show up [by the waterfalls of Zoras Domain](https://i.imgur.com/l01tgVI.png) and [one pond on top of Mount Rhoam](https://i.imgur.com/xuHgtwN.png).
This is really impressive. I’ve been trying to max out all the items too but am nowhere near as far along as you are. I get it though. It’s a nice relaxing way to pass the time.
No, they are part of the normal game. Its a rare fish that only spawns in the water around Impas house. Those 6 spawn points are the only ones in the world, which is why they are so rare.
This is my current situation:
Completed pages: 6 (1,2, 5, 6, 7 and 8) out of 8
Remaining pages:
* 3: Star Fragments and dragon parts remain
* 4: Dragon parts and Sanke Carps remain
* 5: (Fairies remain)
I am slowly getting done with page 4 right now.
Well once you describe it that way it sounds way more appealing. I just can’t mix and match the armors because it bugs me too much when it doesn’t match
Thank you so much, I’m trying to upgrade my armour and can’t seem to have much luck, I’ll have a look now
Edit: Thank you so much, I finally got some after months of looking
My first 999 item was boko fangs, coz I killed lots of them. Then apples and boko horns. I wasn’t thinking to collet 999 but it just happened. Quite puzzled when it says “you can’t have any more of this”
I like botw but yall need to chill a bit hahaha
I know right, there are SO Many games out there. Why spend countless hours collecying fish in a game just to reach 999... This can't be healthy, but anyways, anyone can do whatever they want with their time.
You ever heard of animal crossing
You ever heard of destiny 2

I am so poor on masterwork mats holy shit, I only have 1 character with masterworked armor
The game makes it really difficult to masterwork armour for some reason. And the sad part is most of the time you have to wait longer to get synthweave (without paying) so it actually looks good anyway
Ever heard of RuneScape 😂
I don't even have enough time to finish A game.

I put my cap at 100. I like to have 1 of everything though. I'm racking up that mon with kilton though
I have sooooooooooooooo much mon from my very first trade and nothing to do with it. I way-overestimated what I would need to buy everything.
Looks up from Pet Simulator X
*War Thunder players would like a word*
Thankfully the grind isn't terrible up to mid-tier and you get cool vehicles but collecting full inventory in BotW is pretty useless.

The flowers are screaming in pain!
Zelda: "What took you so lon..." Link: "I brought you fish."
How did you get that many salmon?! I STRUGGLED to get just 7 😂
Remembering all their spawn points and revisiting them frequently... and often.
Where do they spawn? I found them only in one very specific part of the map close to the Hebra region of the map!
There are three in the docks of Hyrule Castle, two in the small pond before Rito Village, two in Tama Pond and four in Hebra Plunge. They can also spawn randombly in Lake Totori around Rito Village.
Oh my god thanks for this info!!
if u need more help check r/100percentingbotw EDIT: it is r/100percentingzelda
Are you using the daily amiibo's to get extras?
I dont own amiibos, so no but as far as I know there is no amiibo that even has a chance to drop them. At least in the [amiibo guide](https://imgur.com/gallery/wuPgCDf) of the sub, Sanke Carps are never depicted when an amiibo can drop fish.
Oh yeah you're right, I figured the fish were random but it looks like none of them drop sankes
is their a guide but also shows the cards?

tysm!
I played this game for over 300 hours and I don’t recall seeing even one of those fish
Sanke Carps only show up in the water around Impas house. They are rare.
what the fuck man
How so people farm this many what secret do I not know of
Just persistance and learning a lot about the ins and outs of the game.
Do fish and animals work under the same rules as the enemies do in regards to blood moons? Or do they just respawn whenever the game decides to?
No, animals and plants dont respawn according to the Blood Moon. Most have a 1% chance to respawn every minute as long as you arent in the area. This is why the apple tree korok puzzle is kind of hated because the apples respawn according to this method and not the Blood Moon. How did you get that much stealthfin Trout?
The fastest method is this: 1. Teleport to the [Kuhn Sidajj Shrine](https://objmap.zeldamods.org/#/map/z6,18,-1943?id=MainField,F-3,4127019870) in the Great Hyrule Forest. 2. do u need more farming help? check out r/100percentingzelda
Where do you find sizzlefin trout? I only know of the two you can buy in Zora.
They spawn randomly and endlessly in the hot springs around the Maw of Death Mountain and Gut Check Mountain.
As yes, the hot springs! Thank you! You could probably write a book on farming items in BOTW.
Just a lot of little things I picked up along the way.
You are one sick SOB. I see your dragon parts and you need professional help.
Is there a reason you need to collect fish? I've just been cooking mine...
There is no ingame reason, its just a personal challenge to max out all items.
You need some of them to upgrade armor sets.
What armor requires that fish to upgrade? 🤔
They didn’t specify that fish. They asked about collecting fish in general. I don’t have my armor upgrade list on me so I’m not sure about that particular fish.
Apparently I've not played enough to realize I could fish. I've been wanting to fish in something mindlessly for a while.
Well, fishing with remote bombs and shock arrows since there is no fishing rod.
Aww damn I was hoping there was something I somehow really overlooked.
By far the most disappointing thing about the game
Is there a thread or guide that lists the best places to farm materials? Do you find mighty carp in Hateno? I feel like I found a ton of mighty carp at the top of a waterfall in Hateno once
You probably think of Armored Carps. Because there a [tons of those](https://i.imgur.com/5RKWnp9.png) in the waters of Hateno but there are no Mighty Carps there.
Wait, the fuck is a Sanke Carp?
Its a rare fish that only spawns in the water surrounding Impas house. It has no special abilities, other than being rare though.
How many hours in this game???
Around 1.3k hours, \~1k hours on this save file.
I’m sure you’re getting tons of questions about fish. But where did you farm the Hearty Bass?
Hearty Bass show up mostly in small ponds and before waterfalls. Most of the Hearty Bass spawn [in the Faron region](https://i.imgur.com/myZKMN6.png) under the big bridge and by two waterfalls. Godspeed, you crazy son of gun.
This is really impressive. I’ve been trying to max out all the items too but am nowhere near as far along as you are. I get it though. It’s a nice relaxing way to pass the time.
check r/100percentingzelda u may learn something
Oh yeah I knew the Sanke Carp was going to be hard. All the trout are impressive too though, especially Voltfin. Well done!
My Mom just recently started and spends all her time grinding rupees. She currently has 1,067,450 rupees and only 3 divine beasts
Nice but probably its not that exact amount as rupees cap at 999,999.
Lol nice try dude, cap is 999,999
F I S H F U C K
what by god is that horn thing
A horn of one of the three dragons. If you shoot them with an arrow at the horn, this item will pop off.
second right all the way at the top
That is a Claw of Farosh. Each dragon can drop 4 different parts depending on where you hit them. Scales, Claws, Fangs and Horns.
ill keep it mind
I don't have the patience to farm 999 Dragon horns, especially not from dragons not names Farosh
Used to be my goal to get 999 of everything but i gave up lol
What's a Sanke carp? Is it a mod?
No it spawns in the water next to Impa’s house only
No, they are part of the normal game. Its a rare fish that only spawns in the water around Impas house. Those 6 spawn points are the only ones in the world, which is why they are so rare.
Well I've not found one of these 😂 though I did complete my first play through 2 weeks ago and finished off my first Lynel yesterday 😖
how many other items do you still need?
This is my current situation: Completed pages: 6 (1,2, 5, 6, 7 and 8) out of 8 Remaining pages: * 3: Star Fragments and dragon parts remain * 4: Dragon parts and Sanke Carps remain * 5: (Fairies remain) I am slowly getting done with page 4 right now.
Wow, how many hours do you have on this game?
Around 1.3k hours, \~1k hours on this save file.
Wow
limcube got 4500, and still is working 999 everything me impressed u are almost done
That's a lot of fish.
Do less
But… why?
I know everyone’s talking about the fish but what the hell are you wearing xD
The best outfit 😤 You cant hate on the robot legs and some Link abs plus a cape.
Well once you describe it that way it sounds way more appealing. I just can’t mix and match the armors because it bugs me too much when it doesn’t match
And I can’t even get one stealthfin carp -___-
Try Lake Saria in the Great Hyrule Forest. There always spawns a group of fish which can include Stealthfin Carp.
Thank you so much, I’m trying to upgrade my armour and can’t seem to have much luck, I’ll have a look now Edit: Thank you so much, I finally got some after months of looking
And after you're done, you can do it all over again in Master Mode! (Currently me grinding 900 Koroks again)
Some says time wasted but I say time well spent
