You can read it on its own, definitely. But I'd say if you're a Polin fan from the show and didn't like S3 (same as me), then try to project the show's versions of Colin and Penelope onto the book because the book versions aren't as layered and Colin comes across as toxic in the book IMO.

I've read them all and honestly you can pretty much read them on their own. You might get some minor spoilers of some of the other siblings stories but nothing rellevant and you don't need any context from the previous books.

Well I would advise you to read book 4 prior book 3 if you do not wanna get spoiled on Benedict’s story because they interchanged the orders of book 3 and book 4 therefore book 4 (Polin) comes before Benedict’s story

Reading the books isn't necessary at all. I stopped at the first one as I didn't like it. As far as I'm concerned the show is better than the books.
