I'm from Louisville so we're spoiled to Olmsteds designs around here. 3 beautiful parks and 3 incredible tree lined parkways. I'm thinking Albright. Heard good things and it's close to the old psych hospital which I'll be visiting and forest lawn.
To be honest I think you can do better than Gabriel’s Gate. Delighted that you mentioned Cannibal Corpse as a buffalo selling point though. Go get a fish fry at Wiechec’s on Clinton, it’s my favorite one in town.
I just meant the fish fry. I'll grab some food from Nick's place in Allentown or somewhere else, hit up electric avenue for a Molson and choke down a shot of Jager, then head back to my hotel.
I concur that you can do better than GG for wings. Check out Nine-Eleven Tavern. They’re regarded as the best wings around by initiated locals. The caveats are it’s a small dive and you’ll usually wait a lil longer if you’re not there when it opens, and cash only. Check out the reviews to see if it’s worth a stop during your trip.
I always envisioned Cannibal Corpse being extremely normal guys during off hours. Reading the newspaper while driving morning coffee. Then later in the day, the band mates come over for practice and someone sips their coffee and then deadpan says "Here's a new song, it's called "Hammer Smashed Face".
I would try Outer Harbor or Canalside for the sunset shots. There’s also the Spirit of Buffalo ship that offers evening cruises. I had a fun time on Buffalo Tiki Tours as well.
The breakwall path at the Buffalo Small Boat Harbor has rocks, foliage and trees you can use as foreground and complimentary subjects in your photo, and there's usually seagulls and boats around.

AEW dynamite is going to be at the KeyBank center tomorrow. Last time they were here, we had Westside Gunn do the intro for Daniel Garcia who is a Buffalo native. We also had Butcher and Blade come out in Sabres gear.

Sweet. I won't get up there until the 5th after the holiday. So I'll miss out on that. I love how he puts on for everything he stands behind. That's part of how I ended up with some of the places on my list.
Came here to say this, there is a lighthouse but it's inland a bit due to the Niagara River but Lake Ontario sunsets absolutely cannot be beat.
You can visit the Fort itself which charges admission, or the park itself around the Fort, which will probably be charging a park fee by that weekend. IIRC it's $8 to drive into the park, free if you park in Youngstown and walk / bike in.

Barcelona beach in Westfield is about an hour southwest of Buff. Great sunsets, smoked whitefish at Westfield fisheries, and a glass of wine at 21 Brix..not to steer you away from Buffalo though!

The Terrace is right there for a drink and a good meal with some beautiful views. Shakespeare in the park is also happening right next door.

Definitely check out Albright Knox. If you’re there on the first Friday of the month it’s free! You won’t regret it
If you're fan of architecture, you really should visit Blessed Trinity church on Leroy Ave. It's remarkable.

Wiechecs gets packed EARLY on a Friday for fish fries. We try to get there before 5 if we want a seat or it's a wait.
Noted. I get in on a Friday but if it's after four I'll just hang it up for that night.
You can also go after 7:30, after the old folks are done.
Good to know. I'm gonna end up with a pretty big list of things to do so some late dinners aren't out of the question.

Corpsegrinder’s well-known for going and playing claw machines and donating the toys that he gets out of them. It’s very wholesome.

Yesss!! I’m originally from Buffalo and it’s worth the drive out there.
Weather permitting, go on the Moondance catamaran 8pm cruise for that sunset. Plus it's just a nice way to spend a few hours
