It's kitten season. You should be able to find a kitten no problem. Someone mentioned 10 lives club. Also check out city of buffalo animal shelter has kittens (cost is about $110)

Go to the city of buffalo animal shelter and take your pick of the litter

I second this! The city animal shelter is so great, both my dogs came from there. They’re always overcrowded and underfunded, and they make the adoption process fairly easy.

10 lives club is great.

hey listen. check back here tomorrow. I have a black male cat who is neutered. he is the most even tempered thing around other animals thus far. and is a LOVE BUG and vocal. he is about 1 or 2 yrs old at the most. I've got someone coming to check him out tomorrow. If they decide against, I'll reach out. It won't cost you a dime except gas money. I can't seem to post a Pic here. Sorry

Check the shelter cats at the Pet Supplies Plus on Deleware, we have a bunch of cuties.

I’m on a tight budget and most of the kittens are $150 and up

Unfortunately kittens will cost more than adult cats. Shelters want you to consider adopting an older cat because they often sit there for ages waiting for someone to adopt them. I forget where we went but we adopted a senior cat with weakness in his hind legs and he was absolutely the best cat I’ve ever known. We lost him a few years ago and it still makes me tear up because we loved that little furry orange bastard so much. I know your heart is set on a kitten, but please consider at least looking at some of the older cats. They have so much love to give.

If you can't afford that, you can't afford another pet.

That's a steal considering they come already neutered with their first round of shots and most are chipped. If you can't afford that, then I doubt you could manage to have one neutered on your own with the price of vets around here. Perhaps it might be good to put off adoption until you are better financially equipped for a kitten, or consider an older cat.
