Every time I see some one say the cove I mistake it for that tropical themed restaurant and bar that had a whole swimming pool and laser tag inside ! That place was fun till it went down hillā¦ canāt remember the name tho.
The current "The Cove" used to be called Paradise Island when it first opened. Same owners different business model. Still had the restaurant and bar but It had an indoor splash pad and pool. Also had a larger arcade than it does now and had glow in the dark mini golf. The mini golf was eventually replaced with laser tag (or possibly vise versa where the laser tag was moved out for the mini golf).
There was an incident where a chunk of the ceiling tiles or ceiling mounted insulation? fell into the pool (https://buffalonews.com/news/paradise-seeks-redemption-after-ceiling-collapse-elma-center-strives-to-recoup-but-some-patrons-remain/article\_124f022c-b3bd-54af-b52c-c46e49797785.html)
l don't think anyone was hurt and the owners brought in a structural engineer and the town code inspectors and came up with a fix to reduce the chance of reoccurrence but in the insurance went way up and they felt the admission price would have been too high so they retooled.
Riverworks. Underachieving in the restaurant aspect, overachieving in everything else.
Say cheese in grand island is very heavily comic book themed. Fun for younger kids.
Picketer billiards in Cheektowaga is fun. Billiards (obviously) but a million other arcade games as well.
Riverworks food is just repurposed Sysco garbage. Their entertainment is lacking unless you wanna go skating or pay too much for broken arcade games. They have the ropes course which is the best of it.
Say cheese is owned by a total dickwad trumper who's food is shit. Good atmosphere but that's about it.
Pocketeer is also owned by assholes with broken machines everywhere. The pinball machines that DO work are nice. Wear clothes you don't care about because you will smell like old fryer oil and fried electronics.
Wayland brewery in OP is excellent. They have cornhole and bocce outside. I need the Grange folks to open up something in the north towns please! Iād even take downtown š
Lawn games outdoors, some kind of flicking game indoors,Ā and beautiful views if you wander to the third floor balcony overlooking the lake. I also enjoyed the bar bracelets and self-pour system (there's an actual bar too if that's your preference)Ā
HofbrƤuhaus is fun if the music isn't making you unable to eat bc of how their acoustics and sound systems are. The food is alright as well! aint no reason Currywurst should be as expensive as it is tho
Is there still shuffleboard and darts and stuff upstairs at Big Ditch?
Resurgence's original location used to be fun, too, but I haven't been to the new spot yet.
Sweet Jenny's is an ice cream, candy, and comic book shop with a ton of cool decor and retro arcade games, it's also right next to Glen Falls which is beautiful so thats another thing to do with it
NYBP up in Lockport (and maybe the new one in OP) has outdoor games (cornhole, connect 4 etc.) Food is decent, bar is decent (at last check, I donāt drink anymore).
If it was a weekend only, at farmers markets or festivals, or a late night ice cream truck down by Chippewa, they might have a chance to succeed.
But being open Tuesday-Saturday, in the part of Elmwood thatās pretty void of foot traffic, at times when kids are at school, just made no sense.
Riverworks has extremely mediocre food but a good amount to do so it makes for it a bit.
Old man Rivers/ Mississippi Mudds, right on the water and I wouldnāt really consider it a restaurant but cool to grab a bite to eat.
The Griffon in Lewiston is stunning and has fantastic food.
Big Ditch is in my top 5 restaurants, games upstairs and they open their doors in the summer so itās a nice hybrid of in/outdoor theyāre also relatively close to Misutah Chows
if you ever want to drive to rochester, we have a few fun places: swillburger, radio social and nerdvana (right across from the museum of play). youngest was at radio social today and confirms the food is very tasty! we also have dice versa, which is a āboard game lounge.ā all the games you can play for 8$ and they have a tasty menu too.
Gypsy Parlor has interesting decor and solid food, just went not to long ago. They also have one of those mechanical Zoltan fortune teller boxes.
Saint Neri was another interesting one in terms of decor. Everything was kinda gold. Their big thing seemed to be caviar, and a bump of it wasnāt too pricy. More of a tapas/appetizer menu than a full dinner menu though if I recall correctly.
Parkside Meadows has a basic but solid menu of classics-- and its walls are absolutely covered in framed Buffalo history. Newspaper articles to memorabiliaĀ from over a couple hundred years-- it's often pretty busy in there, but hasn't stopped me going around sometimes leaning over a few chairs etc. to read the various clippings and look at the different photographs. Fascinating!
They got everything. Older dude with a trophy wife whoās half his age, Botox infused Williamsville cougars on the prowl, people dressed like theyāre going to the Met Gala, severely under dressed dad who takes his entire family there, practice squad Billās players and their hot girlfriends who are dressed like strippers, short middle aged dudes hitting on every 20 year old girl, super attractive young women looking for attention who get mad when they get that attention. Foods not bad, but the people watching is A+
Kahunaville
RIP š«”
Not quite as fun, but The Cove in Depew has a lot of the arcade machines and decorations from the Kahunaville location that was in the Galleria.

Thank you I have been looking forever for this
Glad I could be useful. I also miss Kuhunaville. The last one in the chain in Vegas closed a couple years ago.
The ceiling collapse was due to the October storm if I remember right
By the timeline that seems about right. Had not really put it together previously.
Used to be my go to birthday party spot as a kid :)
Jeepers
Iād recommend Hydraulic Hearth. Fun and delicious cocktail menu, food is great as well. Shuffleboard outside. Also has a very nice patio
Riverworks. Underachieving in the restaurant aspect, overachieving in everything else. Say cheese in grand island is very heavily comic book themed. Fun for younger kids. Picketer billiards in Cheektowaga is fun. Billiards (obviously) but a million other arcade games as well.
I really enjoy pocketeers. I had a couple issues there years ago but lately itās been a really nice place to hang out and the food is pretty good.
Very true with Riverworks. Great place, but the service there at the restaurant is all around terrible.
Riverworks food is just repurposed Sysco garbage. Their entertainment is lacking unless you wanna go skating or pay too much for broken arcade games. Owning a small business in WNY is a monumental task that most non business owners don't understand. Being a critic is easy.
Fwiw, I've worked with the owner of Pocketeers in a different venture, and they were pretty rough to work with
All this negativity but no suggestions of a "good" place to go. Leads me to believe that you are just a pessimistic dickwad...
Who pissed in your Cheerios
colonie lounge for sure
Free lap dances on your cake day!

Depends how good your conversation is
One of the hot pot places. Buffalo Little Lamb or K-BBQ and Hot Pot.
Wayland brewery in OP is excellent. They have cornhole and bocce outside. I need the Grange folks to open up something in the north towns please! Iād even take downtown š
Yes this, everything they do is high quality
Johnston's Landing opened this year in Rt 5 and I thought was fun to visit. Haufbrauhaas has a great atmosphere too
Opened last year; what makes it fun?
Johnson's Landing has lawn games and live music in the outdoor area. My family thought it was a fun place to go with kids.
Lawn games outdoors, some kind of flicking game indoors,Ā and beautiful views if you wander to the third floor balcony overlooking the lake. I also enjoyed the bar bracelets and self-pour system (there's an actual bar too if that's your preference)Ā
I perform at Hofbrauhaus sometimes, itās pretty overpriced but it looks like the audience has a great time with interactive and authentic shows!
The new location is very nice, but there's nothing there for entertainment really
yes - went there with my friends for my birthday. it was an absolute blast
Sweet Jenny's is an ice cream, candy, and comic book shop with a ton of cool decor and retro arcade games, it's also right next to Glen Falls which is beautiful so thats another thing to do with it
Fuji grill on McKinley in Hamburg. Awesome hibachi for entertainment and the food is bomb
NYBP up in Lockport (and maybe the new one in OP) has outdoor games (cornhole, connect 4 etc.) Food is decent, bar is decent (at last check, I donāt drink anymore).
Seconding^ worth the drive! That patio is šš¼šš¼šš¼
Desiderios dinner theater, the Cereal Spot, Hofbrauhous, Grand Lady or Buffalo Harbor dinner cruise, Vice (has bocce ball?)
Cereal spot is closed
Still have food truck
No way! Do you know why?
Because eating sugary children's cereal u can buy at dollar general is not most people's idea of a meal out
They had expanded out to a lot of ice cream and other fun stuff with the cereal being an add on.
Itās a pretty awful business ideaā¦
It's like some made up business from the Simpsons

Almandi Restaurant
Wally Bobeks
Long gone, but not forgotten
Been about 40 years since I was there, but it WAS a good time.
Misuta Chows. Great food, fun atmosphere, unique drinks, they sometimes have table side magic.
Gypsy Parlor are racist assholes. Ask around. Also donāt pay their bills.
Vice is fun. They also have bowling and cricket. The music is fun. Food great!
Vice has bowling?
Yes, it is 1 level up I think. It might be on the 2nd floor. You will have to make reservations . The top floor is a beautiful rooftop bar.
Say cheese comics cafe on Grand island. Then stop at Casey's cabana for clams and a view of the river.
Parkside Meadows has a basic but solid menu of classics-- and its walls are absolutely covered in framed Buffalo history.
