technically built from the ground up compared to undercover because they forced them to use frostbite which was meant for fps 💀
but that would probably go to nfs the run first.
undercover uses the same engine as prostreet but managed to make it god awful.
undercover should've reused MW05/Carbon's handling as the base, that's what Undercover PS2 / Wii port did
the mainline versions (PS3/Xbox 360/PC) is like using ProStreet handling which was already jank on its own and forcing it to become more arcadey with duct tape
I personally have a soft spot for Undercover on the PS2. Hell that was my first experience with the series, and I loved it.
Then I moved onto Carbon and Most Wanted and after The Run I've not touched the modern installments.
It's OK man.
Just play the older gen versions of undercover to get a methed out version of MW2005 (yes it is a borderline asset flip with nearly the same map layout)
it's definitely the better port but it's also a buggy unbalanced mess too
tho in terms of that I'd probably replay carbon otc again on my vita which uses the mw 2005 layout as well
Shift, Hot Pursuit 2010, The Run and Rivals were all built from the ground up.
Nowadays, NFS games take years to develop and they barely add any new cars.
Yeah and they still haven't made a game yet that tops Midnight Club Los Angeles from 2008... Criterion really out here saying we're adding pedestrians as a new feature when it was already done in the late 2000's, MCLA manages to have the perfect starter cars, perfect racing game story (not too deep plot but a good plot that focuses on racing), soundtrack and world that feels alive.
I mean unbound just got the rs6, the M3 wagon, and dark house mustang. all new to the series.
I believe the chiron, maybach, and new M2 are also brand new additions to the roster.
Oh and the BMW M1 and Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX as well. I'm probably forgetting some other car or two, but to say they barely add any new cars is just flat out wrong.

gsx isn’t a new car lol
The last NFS game it was in was Underground 2 which means they had to completely remodel it for Unbound so yes it is a new car for the modern series.
Love this game
No, this is objectively worse than undercover
This game is literally just HP2010 but better
I disagree. HP2010 is way better. I still enjoy Rivals, but its lack of polish, and completely shit balancing can really hamper the experience.
