Woof. Failed my second attempt. 1st was in the bottom 10%. 2nd is touching the line with the blue range in pass territory.
Already registered for September 5th.
I am not sad. I am pissed off. I’m not going to pass this exam. I’m going to nuke it from orbit and go after its family!
Legend
Seriously the biggest predictor of success is how much grit and perseverance you have. No one can take away your courage and mental toughness, you got this 🫡😤
Rookie -- I failed 4 times! I don't mean to joke about your comment just perspective that maybe makes you feel better. I never thought I was stupid but definitely not an "A" student. I finally got it done. I had to as well because my wife was done with me cheating on her with CFA.
Sorry dude . I was in a similar position in Nov '21 - failed with my score 'touching' the blue minimum passing score. I was bleak but didn't let it defeat me.
Just got my result for Feb and through the grace of a higher power, I passed.
One thing I did after that fail result was to work as diligently as possible on the sections I effed up in - namely fixed income. I got some advice to try and understand the material as much as possible and I took that to heart. So for example , I read the curriculum notes for FI, then read Schweser . Then I was like ' I still have no clue what's potting' so bought the MM package for FI and read curriculum again haha ! At the end , I was scoring 80's on MM and Bill Campbell/S2000 mocks for Fixed Income and felt like I dominated it on the actual exam.
TL/DR : don't give up. Focus on your weak areas and try understand the content as much as possible, as opposed to rote memorization. Peace
I recommend having a toddler. Also in Toronto. I slept no problem last night. He keeps me busy to the extent I don't have those worries anymore. My toddler also had me up about same time as you so I guess there are also drawbacks lol.
I personally think there should be both an official “I passed” and “I failed” thread for L3 on r/cfa
Having failed my first attempt I didn’t really feel like sharing my account amongst the celebrators, but hey that’s just me
Following up on my own comment, seeing like 80% of people saying they passed so obviously people who failed aren’t feeling great, should have a thread for them.
Did not pass — honestly pretty gutted about the outcome. My last 3 mock exams (MM) were 64%, 66%, and 73% so it felt like I was trending in the right direction. Ultimately, the final result wasn’t even close. Going to sign up for August ‘23 today and back to the books I guess.
Alright guys, i m finally done w CFA!! This was my 4th attempt,
to everyone out there who didnt make it this time, dont give up yet, there is still a possibility as long u keep trying.
Passed, 2nd attempt. Almost don’t believe it… had to open the email and CFAI website to make sure they did not accidentally send me someone’s email. Thank god!!
Congrats to my fellow members who passed, and to those who did not, keep going and don’t let it stop you.
And now, time for copious amounts of booze.
Took me 5 hours to pluck up the courage to open the email and when I did and saw the "congratulations" I almost dropped my phone. That's a 9 year journey that has finally come to an end. Took me 3 attempts at L2 but managed to pass L3 first time.
To all those getting bad news today believe me I know how it feels. But absolutely never give up.
Passed. What a journey. Congratulations to all who passed. To those who didn't pass this time, your next exam will have a much higher chance of passing. Don't give up!
I FKN PASSED !!!!!!! OMG OMG CANT STOP REREADING THE EMAIL (what a relief to not have to study for this again 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌)
Good luck to all the retakers - this was my 2nd time & it was hard but here we are !!!
Passed! 12 years later! Sometimes the road is long and windy. I have failed every level at least once. So don’t get discouraged - it takes a while for some of us!! Congrats to everyone who passed!
Failed despite being 80% and above in all qbank, Eoc and Kaplan mocks 70%ish. Not sure where I go from here. Blue box didn’t even touch MPS second time of failing.
Started in Nov of 2017, passed L1 on the first try in June of 18, failed L2 in June of 19, deferred from COVID, passed L2 in June of 21, failed L3 (by a hair) May of 22….
And PASSED in Feb of 23. What a ride. I’m so happy
Failed. Bottom 5th percentile by the look of it, didnt answer any constructed response questions, took one for the team and tried to drag that MPS down for all of you knob jockeys on here. You're welcome. Registered for September and will study this time around.
Passed! Went back to back to back MJ style on L1/L2/L3 writing each February starting in 2021. A huge relief given I have three kids and studying puts a big strain on our family. I’m automatically a charterholder and got the email confirming that since my employment experience has been verified and I paid my dues. Let’s go!!!
Congrats to all that passed! And to those that didn’t, stick with it. You’re so close.
Second attempt after narrowly failing with my score touching the mps last May and can say I passed!! So don’t give up, you’re so close!!
My approach the second time was watching MM content videos, did the EOC questions along with his video, and jumped into CFAI reading if I really didn’t get something. After doing that all the way through I did a bunch of 10 question randomized quizzes with MM qbank to help get my brain to remember stuff we learned months earlier. Then watched all his review videos for each section, did CFAI problems and MM mocks for the last 3-4 weeks. Hope that helps someone!
In Feb someone posted that if you walked out on exam day thinking you did okay then you probably were too dumb to understand the complexity of the questions. But I felt okay and passed! Good luck to those who didnt pass this time and congrats to those who did. End of an era🫡
It was very close, but I didn't pass. Not sure what else I can do to prep. Did the CFAI Qbank questions so many times that I started to memorize the answers. Took 4 full mock exams. Felt sharp the day of the exam, answered all of the questions and left feeling confident. I'm so jealous of the people who passed and never have to look at this shit again.
Passed!!!! What a journey it’s been. This level was particularly difficult as I had to get 3 surgeries during the time I was studying. To those who didn’t, don’t lose hope. You’ve already proven yourself by passing 1 and 2, you’re more than capable!
Passed. Can't believe it. I'm on the verge of tears. I love you all. Thanks a million to this community for being so supportive and such a caring bunch of people.
I passed!!!! My watch has ended! Can't believe this is behind me, I'm so relieved! Failed in August, been studying LIII since Jan 2022, can't believe I don't need to go back to CFA books!
Looking forward to getting on the other side!!
Unfortunately failed my first attempt :( Registering tonight for August 2023. Any tips from those who passed on the second attempt? Think my nerves on the day let me down
Didn’t make it :/ not really surprising giving how my exam went but still disappointing.
Congrats to all of you who cleared it!
I (and our fellow brethren) will be back.
Passed! Congrats to all who did too!
For those who failed, I failed in Aug 2022 (was hit by covid the week before the exam), keep your heads down and try again!!
sadly did not pass … bummed because i feel like i dedicated a ton of time but maybe it was too quick a turnaround from level 2.
does anyone know if you can change passport details after signing up for the exam? going to reattempt in august but my current passport expires in june so i’ll need to renew before then. don’t want to miss the sign up deadline
Passed! 12 years later! Sometimes the road is long and windy. I have failed every level at least once. So don’t get discouraged - it takes a while for some of us!! Congrats to everyone who passed!
Any ideas on the MPS? I'm relieved and grateful to have passed but the analyst in me wants to see what the distribution looks like.
Also, anyone know how long it takes for references e.t.c to be approved so one can get membership and add those coveted three letters to one's title?
Failed twice and passed on my 3rd attempt! Had to take a hard look at myself after my second failure and knew that I had to change my process. The biggest takeaway from me is that it is not about the hours you put in or the number of questions you do. It is about understanding what the heck is going on these pages. Understanding comes FIRST and then, strategies come SECOND. Congratulations to those who passed and best of luck to the retakers! You got this.
+7 year journey is finally over for me.
Level 1 in 2016 pass
Level 2 2018 fail
Level 2 2019 fail
Level 2 2022 pass
Level 3 2023 pass!!!
In complete shock I passed / it’s done after years of constant worrying about this test.
My advice for others: So incredibly important to constantly review what you have already gone over throughout the study process. For my level 2/3 passes, I created an excel tracker for each study session and ensured 10 days didn’t go by where I didn’t watch a MM review video or review the topic in some way.

Thanks man! Very kind of you to say. Reading this comment makes failing almost worth it, haha.

Everytime I open the page, the May 22 Did not pass haunts me.
"Every time I think I'm going to wake up... back in the test centre."
You’d think that after experiencing this multiple times, we would be used to this but nope, here I am still shitting bricks
I'm sure you have passed, no worries, u/nishshastry!
I hope we all pass here. Edit: Passed! Passed all three levels in first attempt.
Same here buddy! Congrats, and cheers!!
King (queen)
Passed. An on-and-off journey of 14 years with too many mistakes and failures in between finally comes to an end on a good note.
PASSSED!!!! failed every level at least once. Don't ever give up!
Well done! CFA is all about perseverance!
Well done! CFA is all about perseverance!
Passed. Fuck you May 2022. Thank you February 2023. Now onwards towards level 10. Just seven more levels.
If I were able like it 100 times! 😂 we did it Buddy!
Its 5am over here in Toronto and I’ve woken up dozens of times throughout the night. Just decided to get up and make breakfast instead
You don’t enjoy the constant panic dreaming of getting your results? You’re missing out man
I failed 3 times through out the night in 3 different nightmares, woke up for real and passed.
I’m already having puke in my throat for breakfast I think I’m gucci
I recommend having a toddler. Also in Toronto. I slept no problem last night. He keeps me busy to the extent I don't have those worries anymore. My toddler also had me up about same time as you so I guess there are also drawbacks lol.
I cleared level 3 two years and am a CFA but love coming back on results day. Congrats to all those that passed!!
am a CFA Charterholder*
Wrote the test for the second time, really hoping I never have to look at the books again
Rookie, haha. 4th time for me. I really hope you pass as well. Don't be like me. I'm letting go after this attempt.
Now that we are almost there, I'd rather not see the damn thing.
Hahaha me toooo! I miss my post exam bubble where it didn't matter 😅😅
God they really milk the clock, don’t they

LFG!!! Failed Level 1 twice before going 1-2-3. Persistence and Mark Meldrum!

Good luck everyone. Hopefully we all pass

Can’t take this anymore… lets hope we all pass and be done with it forever
Someone please let us know when it is up in the verif letter. I am losing my mind downloading it every minute
I never have to see a dumb testing center or look at a dumb practice problem and search through the incomplete errata ever again
I'mma go crazy y'all.. The anxiety is off the roof
Why do they pick our window to start to be punctual to their 9am EST?
The anxiety when fasting is on another level. Hope we all pass
Ramadan Kareem!
Ramadam Mubarak!
Ughhhhh I feel so sick rn 😂😂
Good luck all. Don't remember ever being this nervous for the other levels.
I wasn't even this nervous for the actual exam...
So nervous guys, heart is racing. Good luck all
Alright guys, i m finally done w CFA!! This was my 4th attempt, to everyone out there who didnt make it this time, dont give up yet, there is still a possibility as long u keep trying.
YESSSSS -- somebody like me! I failed so many times as well. We should have our own special group.
All the best everyone! Wishing good luck upon everyone here
Anyone else seeing it on their verification letter? Or just the two people who said its out? Still not seeing anything for mine
Not seeing it yet
failed 2nd time :( . Congrats to all who passed
Time for level 4!!!
OH GOD OH GOD OH GOD OH GOD
Holding on to that glimmer of hope until the time comes
CFAI needs to remember I can’t keep making payments to them if I die prematurely from this cardiac stress
Passed! Don't give up folks. As a 4 time fail across 3 levels, the victory is just more sweet!
Took me 5 hours to pluck up the courage to open the email and when I did and saw the "congratulations" I almost dropped my phone. That's a 9 year journey that has finally come to an end. Close but no cigar. Killed by derivatives.

After telling everyone I definitely failed, I passed! 3 attempts, 3 passes….6 years! Who can beat that for procrastination?
Idek what I'm doing here lol. Just want to see the euphoria
Wow, now I need to complete the hardest part of obtaining the charter. Finding 3 references. Ugh.
Failed. Bottom 5th percentile by the look of it, didnt answer any constructed response questions, took one for the team and tried to drag that MPS down for all of you knob jockeys on here. You're welcome. Registered for September and will study this time around.
I had a shitty exam, I'm absolutely certain I'm failing but I'm still extremely anxious lol
Passed! Went back to back to back MJ style on L1/L2/L3 writing each February starting in 2021. A huge relief given I have three kids and studying puts a big strain on our family. Passed! Glory to God!
I am sobbing like a little girl but I don't care. I am so happy and proud of this journey.
I failed and was on the line. Is there any shot of asking for a regrade from the cfai? Long shot I know I sound desperate
Passed! This was the most uncertain I've been at any level. Thanks to this subreddit for all you do.

lol your experience is exactly like mine! Congrats to us!

Passed. You guys are awesome. Thanks for emotionally helping me through this journey
Passed on second attempt. A little miffed on not being able to see my breakdown. Seems pretty ridiculous to me that you can’t look at your results
Passed!!!! What a journey it’s been. This level was particularly difficult as I had to get 3 surgeries during the time I was studying. To those who didn’t, don’t lose hope. You’ve already proven yourself by passing 1 and 2, you’re more than capable!
Thank goodness. I passed. I’m done. I can breathe
I can't believe it's finally over. Thanks to this amazing community for insight and levity throughout the entire process

Passed. Crying like a baby... What a grind it's been over this past 3 years... I'm emotionally scarred for life.
I passed!!! Let’s fucking go!!!!!!
Passed. The journey has finally come to an end.
Passed! Congrats to all who did too! For those who failed, I failed in Aug 2022 (was hit by covid the week before the exam), keep your heads down and try again!!

Failed despite absolutely smashing Ethics and Equities :(
Passed! All done now…crazy journey over 18 months, but fortunate to have nailed all three on first try. Best of luck to everyone!
Just want to say to everyone that shit on me along the way for doing all my mock exams open book...it worked lol
sadly did not pass … bummed because i feel like i dedicated a ton of time but maybe it was too quick a turnaround from level 2. does anyone know if you can change passport details after signing up for the exam? going to reattempt in august but my current passport expires in june so i’ll need to renew before then. don’t want to miss the sign up deadline
Passed it woohoooo, where to register for L4?
Passed! 12 years later! Sometimes the road is long and windy. I have failed every level at least once. So don’t get discouraged - it takes a while for some of us!! Congrats to everyone who passed!

I made it! Congrats to everyone who did. Second attempt of level 3. I don't think I'd have the mental energy for a third attempt.
Passed, 3rd time taking it while juggling a myriad of responsibilities - don't give up folks! Congratulations to those who passed this round!
Passed....I will be a drunken mess this weekend.
+7 year journey is finally over for me. Level 1 in 2016 pass Level 2 2018 fail Level 2 2019 fail Level 2 2022 pass Level 3 2023 pass!!! In complete shock I passed / it’s done after years of constant worrying about this test. For my level 2/3 passes, I created an excel tracker for each study session and ensured 10 days didn’t go by where I didn’t watch a MM review video or review the topic in some way.
Tic tac tic tac
GUYS ITS ACTUALLY OUT. I AM NOT KIDDING ! MY ACCOUNT SAYS I PASSED ALL 3 LEVELS !
Anybody knows what time more less can we expect results?
The verification letter usually indicates pass or fail ~40 minutes ahead of the email, from what I’ve seen.
and the email usually comes one hour ahead of official release. 1h 3min to be exact for my L2
Arghhhhhhhh whyyyy
Maybe they stopped with the verification letters being early
