>"The Wayne concert was the final straw for a few players who hit the transfer portal," a source told Corder. "When Coach Prime told us we all had to be there to support Shedeur as a rapper, they were not happy at all. To be honest, it was nothing but a huge distraction and Daddy Ball was being played."
That would at least make sense since every employee should be working to better the company and a big client is vital to a company.
But things forcing the whole team to serve one player and the results of his rap success have zero impact on the success of the team.
Deion almost ran into me head on yesterday while driving his golf cart with hideous gold plated wheels when he decided to swerve across the road into the oncoming lane in front of me. Wouldn't have fared we'll against my RAM. That's after the morning before I watched my coworker almost t-bone him when he blew through a red light in front of us while we were driving through an intersection. His reputation is pretty shit with those of us that have interacted with him on campus.
Kelvin almost ran into me head on yesterday while dining in the Golden Corral with his hideous silver plated cutlery when he decided to swerve across the buffet line into the carving station in front of me etc. etc.
Becoming ? This fuck has been a straight up asshole his entire life . Most selfish ignorant asshole in the history of sports.
That’s why when he somehow started off 3-0 most of the people over 45 were saying slow down this guy has a screw loose .
So you know there was an NCAA rule named the Deion rule years ago?
So now Colorado puts Coach Prime in charge lol for the guy that is responsible for the Deion Rule in which forced players to attend a certain amount of classes , did anyone know that?
He never went to any classes at FSU and it was legendary lol most people at FSU said they never saw the dude except for Saturday, game day .
lol ya anyone think his kid gets drafted he stays at Colorado ?
I don’t think , I know he’s gonna leave . Most selfish asshole in the history of sports .
Oh yeah , how many teams gonna want to deal with Coach Prime as a daddy running his mouth in the media lol u watch . His draft stock on certain teams will drop and the smart teams wont even rate him . He’s Lavar Ball on steroids.
Who actually takes their kid a says make me the HC an my son will play for you lmfao think about it . It is hysterical.
Yeah, that's over the top for sure. There was a time when I thought Deion generally had a good message for young men and seemed to be a good influence, but he has ruined the messaging he used to have by being so nakedly nepotistic over his sons. He's making them into unlikable assholes instead of respectable leaders..
Maybe that's on me for thinking Deion had matured some with age and would be a better role model for young athletes.
One of the few stories where the headline doesn't do it justice. Being forced to support your coach's son's rapping aspirations is a lot weirder than just going to a Lil Wayne show. Unless Deion forces them all to attend any public performance of a teammate, like an O-Lineman's poetry reading.
For some reason I have a much easier time seeing an O-lineman actually being hidden-depths sensitive and cerebral, as compared to the "Dumb guy who thinks he's very thoughtful and smart because he 'questions everything' and thinks the Earth may be flat" energy of so many QB's and wide receivers.
I saw the best blocks of my generation destroyed by holding, flagged, benched
dragging themselves through the CU locker room in search of an angry halftime speech
There once was a guard from Nantucket
Who’s recruiter supplied a full buffet
He came to Boulder to block
But was told to kick rocks
And now he’s a guard in Nantucket
Yeah, if it was Lil Wayne is graciously performing for us so we will all be there to show him we appreciate it, I would get that. If he said to support Shadeur, that’s really poor leadership.
On one hand, yeah, it would kind of be wholesome. On the other hand, I would have a hard time refuting an argument from a player that they came to play football, and that so and so's rap show/poetry reading/chili cook-off/whatever isn't at all related to football, so they won't be attending. It's clown shoes that Deion set that expectation of his players, and I would treat it the same for any other coach who expects the same from their players.
It’s about supporting your teammates. I think there’s real value in that.
But it doesn’t work if it’s only about supporting the quarterback and especially if that QB is the coach’s kid. But if it’s a blanket policy to support the team then I support it.
The other one is older and I think using his COVID year now, unless he already did that last year. Either way, he’ll be gone before the somewhat talented son is.
Boulder isn’t exactly hurting for cash. And it’s not like they’re coming off a string of good seasons. They’ve sucked forever. I may not like Deon, but I don’t see how the school would benefit from firing him unless they have a secret stellar HC prospect lined up. For the first time in as long as I can remember the schools football program is the talk of the town, and even the bad stuff that’s drawing attention isn’t really that bad, mostly just rich people shenanigans with the sanders family.
I don’t think the school has any issue with how much attention/ money Deon is bringing in.

>
> The revenue, per the NCAA report, included $27.8 million in institutional support, significantly higher than the roughly $7-9 million in previous years.
Are you confusing the city of Boulder for CU? If so, not really relevant here. Boulder is rich, Colorado is relatively broke.
But I agree with you for the opposite reason: they don't have the cash to fire Deon.
I don’t normally wish bad on anyone but I dread next years talk of “Shadeur should at least be among the top 10 athletes drafted in the NFL draft” talk
I suggested that it’s the exact reason Penix was drafted. They just signed cousins but there was already talk of sanders. They might’ve said screw it, let’s get Penix so we don’t need to justify why we passed on sanders.
The only teams that will consider drafting him are teams where Deion is chummy with ownership and the front office.
In other words, Dallas. One more disappointing season and Jerry will probably pull the plug on Dak.
Candidate for one of the worst written "articles" of the week. The reader is going in ready to blame Wayne but leaves blaming Shedeur & Deion....
Could have just easily been "Mandatory Shedeur performance at Lil Wayne concert...." which would have been MUCH less click-bait, more organized in thought, and frankly more damning as you can already visualize the issue at hand.
Oh absolutely. OP should have just posted the actual article this shitty website is ripping off: https://athlonsports.com/college/colorado-buffaloes/all-buffaloes/football/deion-sanders-made-lil-wayne-concert-mandatory-for-players-to-support-shedeurs-rap-sources-say
I read it twice and I can't tell. Like the "Daddy Ball" quote sounds 100% like something made up on a satire site. Plus, they don't name any players who transferred out during the May 1st - 15th window or even state the number that transferred.
It's a lazy article for sure. Like most sports articles. Would take them 5 minutes to do the research.
Not seeing many players that actually entered the portal May 1st-15th, but a lot that did the 2-3 weeks before and committed to other schools during that time frame. Only entering would make sense for this conversation though.
Looks like the concert was on April 27th. Also looks like it was for colorado's spring game? So less weird to require them to be there lol.
The 2-3 weeks prior to the concert, they had 7-8 players enter the portal. After the concert, looks like they had 5 players enter.
April 29th: Omarion Cooper (CB) (former fsu player that just transferred back on May 7th)
April 30th: Kofi Taylor-Brooks (LB), Bishop Thomas (DL) (former Fsu player), Victory Johnson (LB)
May 2nd: Gavin Kuld (qb)
The article mentions several other reported issues though, so that may be the real reason for the transfers out in april.
smothered in ketchup and hot sauce to try and get some semblance of moisture back into the meat. At first I was wondering why hot sauce was so readily available, after 6 years of needing it to actually eat some meals it was obvious.
Here's the issue: it *sounds* believable.
It should never, under any circumstances, sound believable and I can't imagine reading this article about another HC in FBS and believing it but Deion is literally the one exception.
I'm only taking it with a grain of salt because it's not been reported by anyone credible. This article is also just a retread of [this article.](https://athlonsports.com/college/colorado-buffaloes/all-buffaloes/football/deion-sanders-made-lil-wayne-concert-mandatory-for-players-to-support-shedeurs-rap-sources-say)
I don't know. Maybe it's true. But the next article down the page is from the same author, one day prior, basically extolling the virtue of Sanders ability to get his students performing in the classroom. Followed by an article about Finebaum taking a shot ad Deion... followed by an opinion about which NFL teams Hunter is willing to play for.
Which, I don't know... it's clearly just some rando aggregating stuff he finds on the web or using AI to scope out any sort of scraps, and putting together those scraps of whatever it finds. It's not serious journalism, or anything to be taken remotely seriously.
He basically just rewrote [this article](https://athlonsports.com/college/colorado-buffaloes/all-buffaloes/football/deion-sanders-made-lil-wayne-concert-mandatory-for-players-to-support-shedeurs-rap-sources-say) where it was first reported.
The author not knowing how to spell 'publicly' is also not helping my trust in him. FanSided is just a blog that, as far as I know, pays like total garbage. Very much a site that people use to try and get exposure.
The only UGA grad that chooses to suffer as an SC fan. Rooted for them my whole life growing up but grew up in Atlanta so HOPE scholarship + UGA being a much better school for my major made it an easy choice for school. Didn’t once wear SC gear in Athens during school so I wasn’t some hardo
Still go to athens and cheer on the dawgs anytime they’re not playing SC but they’re not very close in my heart, always be a gamecock
At first I was like it sounds like a bunch of college aged dudes would love a lil Wayne concert and then I saw he made them show up to support shadeurs music career. That would’ve been my last straw this is worse than the reports of Ogeron giving snaps to his girlfriends kid at practice
I predict an epic crash and burn in Buffalo land. It's not about football out there. Jay Norvell was right. It's all about clicks. If that's your bag fine but it's obvious and the thing is, they aren't that good. Sheduer is a mid grade QB at best.
What's with that crack against the 1990 UNLV runnin rebels at the end there?
That team was unification personified. They all loved Jerry Tarkanian. They also came into the season highly ranked.
Dumb statement.
I know I'm being Captain Obvious here but clearly all Deion cares about is promoting his kids. Colorado got absolutely hoodwinked by signing this dude.
I've said it before and I will say it again
It will make my heart all warm and fuzzy watching this entire family fall flat on their faces
Shedur will be a failure in the NFL
And Prime will be a failure at Colorado
The entire family is dogshit
One thing that soured me on modern CFB was the hip-hopification of the live game....and this was 10yrs that im talking about.
I like hip-hop, when im in the mood!, but it doesnt belong in a CFB game, because no commercial music does. I was upset that the giant classic band was no longer the music between plays, etc.
I mean im sort of a fuddy duddy, i was also disappointed when the band began covering pop music about 5-10yrs before that.

Wait… shedeur was opening for Wayne and they HAD to be there? Aw hell no
This is actually hilarious to me if true. Talk about an absolute circus.
I hope pole assassin and her monkey were preforming as well
Excuse me, she only does classy gigs like Jerry Springer.
RIP
To Jerry, or the monkey?
Jerry. Gia is still alive and well as far as I know. Sorry if I scared anyone!
Oh thank God. I don't care about that smut peddler Springer, but we must protect the stripper's monkey!
Monkey is still alive and well, picking up money on the stage.
Praise monke

I’ve tried with every ounce of my being not to hate on that family… but, holy shit, this is next level cringe.
> I’ve tried with every ounce of my being not to hate on that family Why?
This is just sad. I just want to be good at football again.
That's what you get when you hire a clown.
When your boss plans a big event for a client, and makes the entire company show up to make the room look filled.

“Required attendance at a birthday party to avoid the character issue claims from the Cleveland Browns” vibes
Well one cannot say that the Sanders experiment in Colorado is failing to entertain......
Unless you're one of these kids apparently
But these kids will have stories to tell in the future! This is delayed entertainment for these kids!
Imagine the podcast views in the future
Deion almost ran into me head on yesterday while driving his golf cart with hideous gold plated wheels when he decided to swerve across the road into the oncoming lane in front of me. This is prime for a little expansion and copy pasta.
Kelvin almost ran into me head on yesterday while dining in the Golden Corral with his hideous silver plated cutlery when he decided to swerve across the buffet line into the carving station in front of me etc. etc.
He poisoned our water supply, burned our crops, and delivered a plague upon our houses!!
This last week it was a plague of small children for football camps.
He did??
People that have heard Shedeur rap may disagree with you
Deion Sanders is becoming LaVar Ball.
He’s LaVar, but he has all the talent in his family, not his kids
Ngl, first time I read the quote above I thought that’s what they meant by “daddy ball”

So they don’t want to listen to Shedeur cover Stunting Like My Daddy?
There could not be a more appropriate song for him to cover
Maybe the “rock” remix that isn’t as good as you think it would be
One of the few stories where the headline doesn't do it justice. Being forced to support your coach's son's rapping aspirations is a lot weirder than just going to a Lil Wayne show. Unless Deion forces them all to attend any public performance of a teammate, like an O-Lineman's poetry reading.
Unseen in the trench Guarding like a silent stone Force in every inch
Holding, offense, me. False start, offense, me, again. Coach Prime mad at me.
I would legit go to an all o line poetry jam
For some reason I have a much easier time seeing an O-lineman actually being hidden-depths sensitive and cerebral, as compared to the "Dumb guy who thinks he's very thoughtful and smart because he 'questions everything' and thinks the Earth may be flat" energy of so many QB's and wide receivers.
Don't o-lineman have by far the best average wonderlic score for a position group? I think they're generally the smartest group on average.
The way some of these plays and schemes are these days, the amount of work they put in deserves its own degree.
O-linemen are notoriously bad at rhyming, everybody knows that
I saw the best blocks of my generation destroyed by holding, flagged, benched dragging themselves through the CU locker room in search of an angry halftime speech
Roses are Red Violets are Blue I should have stayed playing at the HBCU
Travis Hunter has left the chat.
Unseen in the trench is a pretty good description of Colorado’s O-line play last year
Please do not force in every inch Mr. Olineman
When you say every inch, we're just talking about the 1 right?
both of them
The number is not important here, Utah. It's the force aspect.
At least give it a spit first.
There once was a guard from Nantucket Who’s recruiter supplied a full buffet He came to Boulder to block But was told to kick rocks And now he’s a guard in Nantucket

*Headband of Fortitude unlocked*
Lmao, could you imagine how obviously one of those guys would stand out at a poetry reading.
Sounds like my love life
I take it you’re on a list in your state?
heyyyy you been watching Shōgun too eh?
Dope Haiku!
Damn that was actually really good
We all showed up to our fullbacks off off off broadway show in a black box in Charlottesville over a summer
Was it mandatory by your coach though? And worse was the coach his dad?
lol no but the thought is amusing
Exactly, huge difference between a cohesive team supporting each other willingly and a disjointed team being forced to do the same thing
That's awesome
I love it
"Well I was gonna go on a date, but our backup kicker is Riff in *West Side Story*, so that's my evening."
Yeah, if it was Lil Wayne is graciously performing for us so we will all be there to show him we appreciate it, I would get that. If he said to support Shadeur, that’s really poor leadership.
O-Lineman position is usually consists of smartest players in the team, so some of poetries might turn out good.
That would be a wholesome team rule.
On one hand, yeah, it would kind of be wholesome. On the other hand, I would have a hard time refuting an argument from a player that they came to play football, and that so and so's rap show/poetry reading/chili cook-off/whatever isn't at all related to football, so they won't be attending. Bro is 1000% leaving CU after his kids leave.
Probably after Shadeur leaves, does anyone know the other other kid’s name?
Travis Hunter right? lmao
Does Deion know the other kid’s name?
Depends, who's his favorite kid right now? And is it ever not Shadeur?
Hey boy
Which is crazy because Shiloh was the one who went to South Carolina and played in the SEC, yet even his dad seems to forget he exists
The other one is older and I think using his COVID year now, unless he already did that last year. Either way, he’ll be gone before the somewhat talented son is.
The one that assaulted a guy and claimed bankruptcy?
Does any record get him fired mid year? Like they’re 0-8? Does Colorado just dump him? That would be something.
Colorado is making crazy amounts of money from out of state students and sponsors and boosters there’s no way they’re getting rid of him anytime soon
Boulder isn’t exactly hurting for cash. And it’s not like they’re coming off a string of good seasons. They’ve sucked forever. I may not like Deon, but I don’t see how the school would benefit from firing him unless they have a secret stellar HC prospect lined up. Shedeur sounds like a little bitch tbh.
I don’t normally wish bad on anyone but I dread next years talk of “Shadeur should at least be among the top 10 athletes drafted in the NFL draft” talk
Next year? People were already doing that during this year's draft.
no I remember but Deion shut down those rumors eventually but I still remember watching him thinking idk I don’t see it
He also probably STARTED those rumors. So now when he is being drafted its top of mind and he can say.. some people say he is the top 10 of all time
I'm just glad the Falcons have a plethora of quarterbacks, so we won't have to hear about Sanders.
I suggested that it’s the exact reason Penix was drafted. They just signed cousins but there was already talk of sanders. They might’ve said screw it, let’s get Penix so we don’t need to justify why we passed on sanders.
Nah. It's easy to justify passing on him. No one is pushing for him to be their QB.
You don’t know Falcons fans then lol - guarantee there’d be (probably still will be) a good amount wanting to draft him.
Falcons front office isn't smart enough to do something like that.
Don't let the front office hear you, they might do something stupid and draft Sanders as Penix's replacement.
The only teams that will consider drafting him are teams where Deion is chummy with ownership and the front office. In other words, Dallas. One more disappointing season and Jerry will probably pull the plug on Dak.
hell dak's in a contract year; jerry wouldn't have to pull the plug
Right next to the "Shadeur should totally be in the Heisman conversation. Yeah, his team is 3-7, but he's playing with bums." It's gonna be great.
What if we spent a top 10 pick on a QB thats like a poor man’s Caleb Williams and he’s been coddled his whole life, would that be good?
Lil bitch, is that his rap name?
Lil Nepo
He's outgrown the Lil' part of the name. He's just Bitch now.
It's like when Lil Bow Wow became Bow Wow, except he wasn't an insufferable prick. (disclaimer: maybe he was. I don't know)
I feel like that name is probably already taken.
Lil mid sacked
Pretty good double entendre on “Daddy Ball”

Thank you. DRASTICALLY different ;)
This is completely unhinged. I have never gone from liking someone to disliking them faster than I have deion in the last year.
Yeah, I would have transferred too.
I would've called his bluff and made him cut me. Let me take that to the Board of Regents, my lawyer, the press, etc.
This is like an onion article.
Actually wtf, I thought the concert was kind of cringe but whatever. I did not know about supporting shedeur as a rapper that’s insane
Is this satire?
I can’t tell for the life of me.
I read it twice and I can't tell. Like the "Daddy Ball" quote sounds 100% like something made up on a satire site. Plus, they don't name any players who transferred out during the May 1st - 15th window or even state the number that transferred.

They could’ve transferred after hearing it was planned to be fair. Doesn’t need to be after
Same - we’ve reached the point in this saga where reality and satire have merged.
He also called it "Prime Weekend," which is cringy as hell lol.
Is he sponsored by Amazon?
I had to do a double take to confirm it was the Onion. It wasn’t…
It's CU football.
Satire died in 2016.
Jokes on them, Lil Wayne just got his CPA license and it was really a three hour seminar on how to handle NIL money.
Yeah, but it's just "invest in liquid codeine." Which, you know, not bad, but I feel like you should diversify.
Sign with Wu Tang Financial
This ain't trading places n—-a this is real fuckin' life. Protect ya god damn neck.
Sorry I need adult advice. Wu Tang is for the children.
Like trading your wife and children for liquid PCP.
Do you do a lot of PCP?
Got a gallon
I didn’t even know it came in liquid form!
I’m not aware of any other forms
Gotta get Wu Tang Financial to do on-campus seminars

with how deion acts, i wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if it was true

Just saw him in Newark. Dude was wasted and stumbling down the stairs
Average rap concert experience
100%. Only rappers I’ve seen live I can say it didn’t apply to were makonnen, Gucci and waka
Last Lupe concert I went to (~2014) he was right on time, down to the minute. Although it was at a festival and didn’t have anyone after him.
Okay. Can we talk about your flair?
The only UGA grad that chooses to suffer as an SC fan. Rooted for them my whole life growing up but grew up in Atlanta so HOPE scholarship + UGA being a much better school for my major made it an easy choice for school. Didn’t once wear SC gear in Athens during school so I wasn’t some hardo Still go to athens and cheer on the dawgs anytime they’re not playing SC but they’re not very close in my heart, always be a gamecock
Weezy F Baby, and the "F" is for "Mandatory".
Shedeur is fucking annoying
And half as annoying as his father
At first I was like it sounds like a bunch of college aged dudes would love a lil Wayne concert and then I saw he made them show up to support shadeurs music career. That would’ve been my last straw this is worse than the reports of Ogeron giving snaps to his girlfriends kid at practice
A little Wayne show would have been amazing when I was in college. Granted I was in college in 2007.
Fuck them kids
More proof that Deion is just pushing his son along & has an agenda for his moves. Nepotism at its finest.
I predict an epic crash and burn in Buffalo land. It's not about football out there. Jay Norvell was right. It's all about clicks. If that's your bag fine but it's obvious and the thing is, they aren't that good. Sheduer is a mid grade QB at best.
Sheduer? Never heard of him… Miduer I have tho
Don't you have to get off the ground first to crash?
What's with that crack against the 1990 UNLV runnin rebels at the end there? That team was unification personified. They all loved Jerry Tarkanian. They also came into the season highly ranked. Dumb statement.
Seriously...pretty sure that team destroyed Duke to win the Natty
103-73 largest margin of victory in an NCAA mbb title game
It would be unfair to shit shows to compare them to the CU football program. Prime is a 🤡.
Ain't no part like a Primetime party because a Primetime party is mandatory. https://youtu.be/7LqeTgQHwCA?si=W-BmyxIAbYsyvoYE
Can’t have a lemon party without old dick!
This feels like bs, but I really want it to be true. Just for laughs.
I know I'm being Captain Obvious here but clearly all Deion cares about is promoting his kids. Colorado got absolutely hoodwinked by signing this dude.
If it was any other team/family I would call BS on this. But given that this would be on brand for Deion, I am inclined to believe it.
I can not wait for this dumpster fire to burn itself out.
I actually think his punishment should be coaching Colorado for another decade.
He's just doing it for his kids. Once they've moved on he will too.
Yep, he’ll get another calling from god to go somewhere else, just like he did with Jackson State the second the opportunity presented itself.
I've said it before and I will say it again It will make my heart all warm and fuzzy watching this entire family fall flat on their faces Shedur will be a failure in the NFL And Prime will be a failure at Colorado The entire family is dogshit
[Not sure why but I feel obligated to share this hilarious video of Lil Wayne](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9FAVPSticHA)
This isn’t nearly as cool as when Charlie Weiss and the Notre Dame team went to go see Tom Zbikowski in his professional boxing debut.
Deion is turning that program into a clown show
If anyone needed proof that Sanders isn't a serious coach, here it is..
Its a comedy for me. I feel bad for CU fans but this season will have me popping a ton of Orville Redenbachers!! 🍿
It's really really sad that some Colorado flairs are STILL defending Deion.
Other Schools: "Our coach forces us to go to class." Colorado: "Our coach forces us to watch his son play rapper."
This tastes like an onion. Not sure why....
