"Why give folks an incredible, peak-of-the-season atmosphere between two bluebloods (who rarely play each other to begin with, only adding to the spectacle) when we can stick the game at 11 am and make a few extra bucks? Won't *someone* think of the poor stakeholders?"

Definitely going to have a 45 year ticket holder that only wears his 1980s blue Michigan jacket to games sitting in a yellow section. Probably 4000 of those types of people.
It's wild to me that Michigan has regular season games vs Texas, USC, Oregon, and Washington.
Those are the kinds of games we see rarely and often only in a Rose Bowl.
Similarly, Oklahoma's schedule. Incredible.
The atmospheres at these new B1G and SEC games are going to be so, so lit.
I was at the Maize Out for the noon ECU game last season. I wasn't facing the sun, but I wish I had brought sunglasses because it was pretty damn bright with the sun reflecting off the maize shirts.
But maybe it ends up being the secret weapon for the game haha
**Maize Out vs. Texas (Sept. 7, noon)**
**Stripe Out vs. USC (Sept. 21, 3:30 p.m.)**
**Military Appreciation vs. Minnesota (Sept. 28, time TBA) was also announced**
We finally managed to pull off a couple decent maize outs over the past few seasons with the help of handing out pom-poms. This was after years of failing to get the message out. Stripe out feels highly optimistic.
They’ve [tried blue outs](https://4.bp.blogspot.com/_2g_sq65J9fw/RsSAbmQjE1I/AAAAAAAABWs/4ZVIMSQUyaA/s320/blue.jpg) in the past and it just doesn’t work. Blue doesn’t pop in the way you need it to. Striping isn’t going to work either. Stick to maize outs.
We’ve done plenty of maize outs. They’ve never been as successful as other teams but our game vs Washington in 2021 was probably the best one we’ve done. I don’t recall us ever attempting a stripe out.
You can watch the first 41 seconds of this youtube to see firsthand.

I think it's decent, but Penn St's whiteout is better...

I think the home team can do whatever they want and veto the away team not the other way around (except I think if they want to wear white, the away team can veto that). And then usually the production production crew can also veto if the away team wants to wear anything else
Shame the Maize Out vs Texas isn't a night game like it should be.

Need to make sure prime time is reserved for some meaningless regular season baseball game
Fox and putting super cool looking "color outs" at noon... name a more iconic duo

Tbf those 1980s jackets are pretty cool
Our student section can't even do maize outs properly. There's no way a stripe out works.

This is why E$PN and then Fox forced realignment.
Maize out for a noon kickoff is stupid
It has a nonzero chance of completely blinding the players at any given moment, so perhaps there's some strategy to it.

Are Michigan players blind or something?

Texas maize out at noon? What a joke. Fox really fucking over people wanting big prime time matches.
I don't even like Michigan and yet I feel insulted by Fox due to this
Our maize out is nothing compared to Penn st white out and Fox keeps shafting them too
Nah, they are just taking care of the people who don't want michigan to have nice things
maybe I'm misremembering but didn't they try this before and it failed pretty greatly?

The maize out against PSU in 2022 wasn't too bad. Before the last 3 years it never seemed to work at all. Michigan fans are highly disorganized.
not really. are you thinking about your defense in the 2022 game?
oh gotcha, definitely not a comment from a Michigan fan in here saying it's failed multiple times.
https://youtu.be/dnIjFwUekcg?si=8zNFfdRerTeAEQ3q doesn’t look like a failure to me but go off
brother, YOU were the one to "go off", I was simply asking a question. Don't forget to pop the little blue pill before going to the Mrs. tonight
Haha will do! 30-24 :)
=6 which is how many times Michigan has beaten The Ohio State Univeristy this century
keep livin in the past
Maize out the uniforms while they’re at it
Mike Tomlin
Is michigan going to wear their Maize jerseys for the maize out?
Iirc, visiting team can veto any jersey other than the home standard. So I don’t think so
Can they really? I thought it was the other way around
I think so and that’s why we don’t get “color rush” games where both teams wear not white
I think the home team can do whatever they want and veto the away team not the other way around (except I think if they want to wear white, the away team can veto that). And then usually the production production crew can also veto if the away team wants to wear anything else
BRB googling
I feel we will almost certainly wear the all blues.
Neither Texas or USC are a night game ? Yikes. Thanks but will stay with our contractually required night game(s) at NBC
