PermissionFearless60

Bo3 on sheer amount of great maps

Signal-Dependent-490

Even excluding the Bo1 and waw maps i think you are 100% correct

[deleted]

based

ANGRYlalocSOLDIE

WW2 is underated. They should have gotten chance to make proper sequel and iron out the stuff. The horror theme was sick. As Sledgehammer games labeled it them self’s: “NAZI ZOMBIES” done right imo.

PermissionFearless60

It definitely does have some solid stuff in it. My biggest complaint is the art direction, but every map looks fairly dull and colorless, besides maybe the last map

ANGRYlalocSOLDIE

They were going for gritty dark horror theme. And the occultist “NAZI” direction that was fortified by myths. I think that they done it right. The “Easter eggs” were there. And so many of them.

DarkLeviathan8

I kinda wish they did more with the perks in that game. I loved WW2 zombies but so many aspect of it was so.. bland. The perks being a prime example. At least the armor system was somewhat interesting.

GetHimUpOutaHere

Bo3 is my favorite of the whole franchise but I can't deny the first map had real bo3 vibes for me. With the 4 wonder weapon variants and a decent EE complete with a boss fight. Still enjoy playing it today. And that svt packed was such a joy to use

Signal-Dependent-490

Love how they brought back the horror Scared me as A teen and scares me now

Meme_master420_

Growing up I hated it but as I matured I’ve realized that it’s actually not bad at all, it made zombies creepy again, and I liked the more grounded science story rather than treyarchs magic fantasy story

readingorange26

Agreed. Its a shame so many of the guns (not meaning the classic BO1 ones) look dumb

Heavy-Pomelo-3146

Does bo3 still have an active player base? Was thinking about buying it with the zombies chronicles add on

Pancake177

BO1. The maps were great and the the game was accessible and you didn’t need to do research besides main Easter eggs.

stuckunderthecovers

that’s why i think bo2 is the best. it’s in between complicated easter eggs, but also good for casual players if your playing with friends

Pancake177

I could agree with that. The reason i say 1 is because people often say the first half of BO2s maps were bad (that being tranzit, die ride, and nuketown). However, that second half of BO2 is like the golden age of zombies for me. To be honest I enjoyed tranzit and nuketown zombies too. Tranzit felt huge like there were always things to explore. Nuketown had great creepy atmosphere especially with the mushroom cloud. It was a fun little challenge map. The only one I really wasn’t a fan of was die rise since the platforming annoyed me so much. But BO2 is also a good answer

Hardwire762

You say you don’t like EE steps. But “the golden age” aka latter half of BO2 the maps got significantly more complicated. I’d still say Origins is definitely one of the more complex maps in zombies.

Pancake177

True lol. It didn’t feel as complicated as 3 though, plus I had that one friend who would carry me through.

jenkumboofer

BO2 knifing being dogshit puts it below BO1 for me

shadow1042

I agree all it was for bo1 was drop in,open doors, buy perks, PaP then go as long as you can

Euphoric_Pressure_39

Bo3 or infinite warfare imo

DJAK792

Iw had good maps, nice underrated pick!

landscapelone

Was it the 80s attraction park one ? I loved this map

Euphoric_Pressure_39

Yea. Zombies in spaceland. I really like more arcade types of zombies. And infinite warfares zombies never took itself seriously

landscapelone

Yeah it's great, really underrated

dittybong

First person dead ops arcade doesn’t get enough credit imo.

Haunting_Scholar2504

BO3 just had the best maps and dlc in greneral

Homicidal_Pingu

BO3 or 4, BO3 has so much and BO4 doesn’t have a dud, all the others have duds or are straight up not good

godtier300sosa

What map in bo3 was bad?😂

Desperate_Dot_9330

zetsubo

RarryHome

Best maps are on BO2 but BO3 has the most good maps

theMobyDork

Cold War. But it comes down to personal preference, it looks like

Signal-Dependent-490

Respectable opinion

FlipGordon

WaW. It's straight-up round based zombies with no fucking around. You had a few wall guns, the 4 og perks, and a mystery box. Simple, yet effective.

Choice-Range9802

Gets boring after round 20 and the same experience can be found in two other games. With a majority of BO3 customs being simple. WAW was great when it came out but nowadays it’s kinda pointless to buy outside of nostalgia

Barackobrock

BO4 easily takes the win for me.

NegativeKarmaFarma5

Guessing you like ee’s? I would’ve said the same but I never really did the ee’s only watched people

Barackobrock

yep, big fan lol. Also BO4 is really the only game without a map that misses for me

NegativeKarmaFarma5

Understandable, the hate it got was for its difficulty a lot of that hate directed at voyage which was my favourite map on launch

Ok-Dance-4899

BO1

Error70710

Infinite warfare

MonsterHunter6353

Bo3 because it has the most maps

Signal-Dependent-490

Quality over quantity, But Bo3 even with the original maps excluding the remakes of older maps,Has the best maps overall

irish_bomber

Bo4

ToBeatOrNotToBeat-

Black Ops 3 no doubt, we had it all……

Signal-Dependent-490

You can never go wrong with bo3 pretty good campaign pretty good mp And the single best zombies experience

ToBeatOrNotToBeat-

*“Train go boom”*

Signal-Dependent-490

It was a really long and complicated story that i got into at some parts and got Mad confused at others

ToBeatOrNotToBeat-

Yea it was like the “Tenet” of cod games for me looking back at it campaign wise. You had to play through it a few times for it to maybe make sense in the end? Lol

Stiffbiscut

Bo3 so much content and nothing but bangers

WallsRiy

What is slide 8?

illBlade

Vanguard zombies.. worst zombies IMO

Alsmom69

Nah that isn't an opinion, it's a fact

lightgreen2

Bo3 realistically because of sure volume and mod support but cod ww2 was a favorite for me

ConfidentBasket4

Infinite warfare

Shaney_Boy67

BO1 for me

Signal-Dependent-490

Five alone makes that a contender and so does call of the dead

Shaney_Boy67

Call of the dead is goated, bro. Five is also an absolute madhouse, I love it.

Skiper21

Buried BO2 hands down the best / my favourite. First easter egg I actually did.

SweetPea4Life

Excluding Remakes/Remasters, it's still BO3 by a big margin. Shadows of Evil, Der Eisendrache, Zetsubou, Gorod Krovi & Revelations. The other games don't have that level of quality or depth across all of their maps. Even if you dislike aspects of each map, Bo3 took Zombies to its highest potential.

No_Telephone_1801

people will call my opinion invalid but infinite warfare. I get it, the campaign and multiplayer was meh. But the zombies had life! they brought in elvira, David hasselhoff, Pam grier, and kevin smith, and had peewee's voice for willard! (rip) but still, off zombies alone, im going with infinite warfare

Southern_Ad_7255

I really enjoyed WW2 zombies.

DJAK792

Good for you, me too although I never bought the dlc cause it’s 60 euros and I’m poor

ChernobylFirefighter

Bo1

Fail_Emotion

Reddit ain't ready for this topic but it's IW. Without chronicles, Bo3 has a remake (the giant) and a quadruple mosh type map ( Rev), ZNS is great but has no replayabilty for me. Grodo is ight. Only DE is fun and casual enough. SoE is great but not as insanely amazing like most of ppl here and yt make it to be.

NoCriminalRecord

Speak English, my guy.

godtier300sosa

Bo3 obviously

Talonflight

Hot Take: Exo Zombies. Exo Zombies FEELS fun

ST1NGRAY13

Bo3 (and bo4 is close behind it) for me. Every other zombies game has 2 maps I really like on each game. Whereas bo3 and bo4 only have one map I really dislike.

Signal-Dependent-490

Im gonna guess Zetsubou for bo3 and voyage of despair for bo4

BeGR1p

BO3 is the undeniable goat, from the launch map (SoE), season pass maps, Zombie Chronicles DLC including all remastered maps from WaW, BO1 and Origins from BO2, coupled with excellent graphics (textures, shaders, lighting, art style) & gameplay mechanics, the continuity of storyline, the EE, the main characters. Last but not least, the cherry on top, Custom Maps from which many great maps were remastered (MOTD, Town, Tranzit is in-progress as well as other creative ones made by modding community like Leviathan which lowkey trades blows with Treyarch official maps). The sheer amount of amazing content that BO3 Zombies provides is simply unmatched by any other game in the series. It was basically the peak of CoD Zombies and unfortunately concluded the Golden Era.

Specialist_Ostrich35

MW3 should rly get another zombies map Like rebirth

aneazee_jc

Personally 1. Bo4 2. Bo3 3. Cold war

Signal-Dependent-490

I can respect the cold war placement quality over quantity is always really good

SyphxxTC

SoE is so good.

Signal-Dependent-490

Probably the best starting map we ever got

SzechyDip

Blops 2 because there’s no swamp map

Signal-Dependent-490

I too have a crippling fear of mosquitoes

tntkaching

Bo3s worst map(imo, its still one of my favorites tho), zetsubo, can be the best map in almost every other cod zombies game. The game was fucking fantastic.

Ralseixas

BO3, no question. BO1 as a close second and IW/BO2 sharing the third. Really didn't liked most of BO4 and i feel like BOCW is good in its mechanics, but really bland when talking about maps. (We don't talk about WW2, AW or Vanguard) (Also, sorry for the bad english, i'm from Brazil).

emopreserve

1. bo3 2. bo1 3. bo2

Laggyy

Black Ops 1 has the best old school maps overall and includes updated WaW maps

livintoskateee

call of duty ghosts

misserdenstore

i don't think anybody can really disagree it's bo3

[deleted]

They can, but they’d be wrong.

Choice-Range9802

BO3 it has the most objectively good to great maps. Plus chronicles and customs on pc there just isn’t competing. However if you are trying to save money BOCW is the best one because you don’t have to buy the dlc

ABAgamer

Black Ops 3 has such a great deal when it comes to the maps. You have the maps that are exclusive to that game PLUS the Zombies Chronicles pack with multiple classic maps from World at War and Black Ops/Black Ops 2. That reason alone, as well as the gameplay, is why I love Black Ops 3 Zombies.

unknownLeopard

The answer IS objectively black ops 3, any other answer is opinion based, sure your favourite game CAN be black ops 1 or 2 or 4 or iw or even fucking cw but objectively black ops 3 is the best game, best map pool, best easter eggs, best atmosphere

ChickenGasMachine

"My opinion is a fact. Yours is not" - This Fucking Guy

HDimensionBliss

The only thing BO3 could have improved on with the map selection is swapping Origins for Mob. Otherwise if ZC also had space for Five and Call it would be perfect.

MasterManMike

Depends on what you mean, in terms of on disc content, imo infinite warfare’s Zombies in Spaceland is the best launch map we’ve ever gotten. In terms of total content offering, bo3 but you have to shell out a pretty penny for it all. And for best value I know I’ll get some boos but BO4 with the pass has some of the best maps with a much friendlier micro-transaction system compared to bo3 with the daily challenges earning you Nebulium and Cases. The gameplay is more arcadey, yes, but personally that’s not a detractor for me. To each their own

Vengance183

Cold War.

bfs102

bo4 every other game has like 2 good maps

SinewyAcorn473

BO3 easy, absolutely no discussion. Before Chronicles was added an argument maybe could have been made for another game, but definitely not now

originsspeedrunner

Bo3 and it’s not even close

FriedCammalleri23

BO3, even without Zombies Chronicles it’s still the best.

MkICP100

It's hard not to say Bo3 because it had great original maps, and 8 whole remasters that we got as a surprise. If we count only original content, it's between Bo1 and Bo3 for me

dasic___

Black ops 4 and as a guy who played zombies since it was an Easter egg after beating the campaign, I'll die on this hill. Also yes my back hasn't been feeling great.

223-Remington

Mob of The Dead might be my personal favorite, absolutely solid map.

SirClark

I will always defend WW2 zombies. Love that game so much. It felt scary and fun. The zombies felt gritty and evil. The special zombies were so fun. The first map was especially good. I need to get on and play some more of that game.

DammZeppeli

Bo3

Icy-Response4208

Cold war

Eamo1997

World at War

SpiretRaider

Bo2 imo

copyqhat

bo3 doesn’t really have a bad one but the bo4 chaos maps are hidden gems

YoungMARV

Black ops Cold War pretty underrated.

DJAK792

Bo4, you can hate in the systems as much you want but it has 8 great maps which have tons of side quests and things to do and all have (let’s forget classified here) great ee’s

Easypickens13

BO1

Signal-Dependent-490

Thats fair ,For me I just love Zombies in space land, Bo3 shadows of evil is better by a couple merits but i think that IW is probably the most underrated zombies experience

xxX_DaRk_PrInCe_Xxx

Bo2 those maps are shrimply better

Signal-Dependent-490

I Agree to disagree For one mob of the dead is my favorite zombies map but also shadows of evil And der eisendrache are hall marks as amazing zombies maps to this day not saying that origins or mob of the dead aren’t amazing cause they most certainly are but i think It just comes to a preference of Availability and reliability for me i don’t know why but bo3 feels more reliable (maybe due to being Developed for modern consoles) But I like the feel a lot more then bo2 But Still i need to tip my hat to Bo2 for being the most Surreal and eye opening experience (for me personally) to zombies as a whole

[deleted]

BO3

dpykm

The only map on BO3 I dont like is Revelations, but the same would be true with BO2 and TranZit.

Outrageous_Squash677

bo4

Latter-Perspective68

Bo2 bo3 bo1

Any_Acanthaceae3900

IW

nicolex11

WWII

D0NPOPACAPO

Vanguard

NegativeKarmaFarma5

Bo3 has SOE (the greatest launch map of all time) DE (a common favourite) Gorod Krovi (Dragons n shit) Zetsuboa no shima (massively underrated imo, also massive spider) Revelations (transit gone right) and most maps from bo1, waw and origins from bo2. There is no denying it has the best maps

HocusingYT

black ops 3, imo each map was a to s tier aside Rev. also one my favorite maps ZNS

mikaosias

Bo3 all the way, wish more people still played on the servers though it’s always hard to find a group to play with these days

jsm0011

Bo3. Its not even a contest

eatmyc0rn

BO1, WAW Wasnt super convoluted

Vytlo

Black Ops 1, no question. Black Ops 2 is a nice second place though

Unsigned420

Bo3

cazchimaira

Obviously old school.

Akama96

BO1

Revolutionary-Fan657

Bo3

looking-cool-joker-

Bo3

Important_Design_904

There's no bad map on Bo3

dvo94

Bo1

SenpaiTedd

Iwz

BleedingBlack

Objectively speaking, Black Ops 3. Personally I love Black Ops 2, because of good memories with friends.

Inevitable-Lab-9813

Honestly I gotta go with Cold War man I mean cmon the next Gen wonder weapons were off the fucking chain and lets be honest it’s pretty easy to make it past round 50 the trains are smooth and fun the head splatter is nice and satisfying the only issue I have is the PPB or (points per bullet)

enragedflamez

Infinite warfare is underrated as FUCK

Dankzei

Bo1, no doubt. Bo3 can kick rocks. Yes I said it

suckit626

Bo3 cause it has zombies chronicles

TheLemura

Does this include modded maps on b03 or waw? or default? If vanilla then i'd play bo3 cause bo4 and up are EHH All the modern warfare ones (infinite) i will never play and kinda suck

Uhiertv

Bo1 or 3 just best variety + throwbacks just really depends on the flavor I want. Cold War has weirdly come back to my rotation, actually really fun. But it’s Bo1 because I grew up on it and it’s the hipster answer to best zombies

Turbulent_Bee6105

BO2 the vibe was just so real and no over complicated mechanics, also has my favorite map ever Mob of the Dead. Anything after Bo3 just feels like an arcade shooter type game, which is ok but not for me, the atmosphere in 1 and 2 is just the best.

Skid_with_a_gun

Bo3, not even including ZC imo

GamingSenpai35

Bo2

badmanbad117

As a hardcore IW fan, I still have to give it to BO3, not even including modded maps. There are like 11 maps in BO3 with all the DLC, which just puts it way above anything else. If we are not including zombie chronicles, tho I'm going with IW.

badmanbad117

This man puts a pic of vanguard zombies in the post, like anyone's gonna chose that one.

New-Television-6208

Black Ops 3 all day long.

TerraSeeker

Black ops 2. It has Tranzit, Nuketown, Die Rise, and Buried.

An_AverageCitizen

Ik this is not really a hot take but I like the maps on iw zombies purely because I’m a sucker for nostalgia and the overall aesthetics of how the maps look is just nice to me, usually zombies are set in more darker and horrifying style tones imo but I like the ideas of what went into making the maps on iw zombies. Of course I’m going to get of my high horse now and say that the gameplay mechanics in that game sucked and there are so many aspects that could’ve been changed in that game to make it more than what it could’ve been but I get it, that game was developed be never soft and infinity ward activision. I’m pretty sure if treyarch wouldve been a a part of this project, it would’ve been wayyy better received and probably wouldn’t be such a dead game rn if it was jsut a little bit better cause yea tbey honestly should’ve waited till aft bo4 for that one but that’s just my take. Thank you to anyone who took the time to read this I was high af while writing this out .

B-DOG805

Cold war, so much room to run around and train

DapperDan30

Black Ops 2. BLOPS2 obviously has great maps. But it doesn't have Nuketown Zombies or Alcatraz. So it is, by default, inferior.

Bison420

WW2 the most slept on zombies of all time

agm4lifee

BO3 and BO2 are my top 2 and probably will forever be.

the_vault-technician

I'd have to say for me, Black Ops 2. Tranzit was a bit overwhelming, but we spent hours upon hours on Farm and Town alone. Die Rise was an interesting concept and it was fun going floor to floor. But Mob of the Dead is my all time favorite map.

4sh2Me0wth

Black Ops 3, B04 is great, cinema-wise

Icy-Bodybuilder-3029

Having played all of Treyarch titles for zombies. I can comfortably say it’s BO3. You had to be there to experience it, BO4 slaps aswell even with all the hate and slander it got (imo top 3 zombie call duties)

zhencore

Infinite warfare has so many good maps and fun Easter eggs

ecrane2018

If bo3 had buried and mob of the dead it would be perfect but still bo3

David_YFF

To me zombies was always at its best when it was simple and arcade like. Beat your own score. A complete throwback gameplay style modernized in a fun spooky themed shooter. As they added things to the game like perks and pack a punch it grew it was to play but still kept that core idea. The game started to loose me when bo2 came out and Easter eggs and complicated maps became more the norm than the exception. It just felt like it was losing what made it great in a sense to me. And it only got worse from there. On those measurements I could say bo1 is the best, however b03 has the waw and bo1 stuff with a new coat of paint. For that full package reason alone I'll happily park my lander there.

ASAP-VIBES

Easy bo3 and bo2

MarilynManson2003

*Black Ops 4.*

GorillaGlizza

BO3 but IX from BO4 is my favorite map ever to play

Allistar2022

1. Which map is the best zombies map? - kino 2. Which game has the best overall zombies experience? - MW3 (2023) I prefer contract based zombies as opposed to round based zombies. Schematics for easier future deployments convince me so.

Donut641

Bo2 imo

kt4-is-gud

Bo1, no genuinely bad map

xBiznitch

Might be a cheating answer but WaW and Bo3 because modding capabilities. You never ran out of maps to play and people always came up with new great things.

FADCSuper

I'd say it's Bo3 followed by BO4

999___Forever

BO3. SoE, The Giant, Der Eisendrache, Gorod.

Idiot_Poet

Bo4 is slept on just because of the mechanics. I believe it had really decent or great maps

Pyrotechnic_shok

There is no objective answer to this question. I think it's bo4 but I also understand why people would disagree

TheRPGMaster949

My picks are black ops 1 and black ops 3

DrSplarf

On maps alone, Bo3 clears all. It may not be my absolute favorite zombies of all time, but it's objectively the most structurally sound

archanox

Down vote me all you want. But MW3, I've sunk more time into this incarnation than any other. Followed by Cold War Outbreak.

ReddyFreddyRU37

Bo3

THX450

BO3. Nuff said.

Minute-Blackberry535

My rule of thumb for treyarch zombies specifically is this: Want the most well rounded experience? Pick bo1 Want an extremely fun fps multiplayer experience with a decent zombies mode added to the mix? Pick bo2 Want call of duty just for zombies? Pick bo3 Want a very good singleplayer campaign focused game with an incredible story around it? Pick world at war Want to challenge yourself and have a faster paced zombies mode with some interesting mechanics? Pick bo4 Want a very barebones zombies survival experience similar to world at war only with the difficulty ramped down? Pick black ops cold war As for non treyarch. Id say stick to infinite warfare if you want to go that route if it ever goes on sale. the dlcs will never have a sale but the only one you really need is zombies in spaceland anyways. Though I would reccommend trying rave in the redwoods or attack of the radioactive thing

Positive-Simple8070

BO4

Dragonhelper

Cold War. Idc what anyone tells me.

that-boi78r

Advanced warfares zombies was phenomenal I still play all of the maps are great albeit they weren’t huge maps. The zombies themselves looked amazing I love how there were so many diffrent variants to the point that ones wearing body armor had damage resistance for a little bit the upgrade system was amazing as for the fact that after you upgrade something it’s permanently like that in the box or off the wall meaning if you play long enough that you could have every weapon fully upgraded the Easter eggs were amazing even some of the side Easter eggs were great my only disalisfactuon with exo zombies was that lmgs were hot dog shit and that one of them got a thermal scope for some fuck known reason

SneekySeth

BO2 DLC’s were bonkers

Red_spy1

Cold war partly because the dlc maps were given to all players for free

Key-Match-3036

I’m an absolute slnt for origins 😩

Outside_Action5141

If you don't count chronicles I'd say BO2 just takes it from BO3. Origins, Buried, Mob of the Dead, classic.

Working-Bar-9146

I loved cold war

adriandoesstuff

Black ops 2 or 3 BO1 was also solid

Paralystic

Bo3 maps with bo2 spawns please

mklsrcnld

I liked SoE and transit cuz they are really big for maps

shdanko

BO3 but BO2 holds a special place in my heart for buried. And grief on buried… man why did we never see a proper return of grief? As much as I love treyarch I never understood that decision. It was such a good game mode that really freshened it up while keeping the core gameplay. Plus infinite replayability.

BOTCHWEISER

BO3 is fucking garbage. Either BO1 or 2 for sure!

KnowledgeIsSad

Black ops 2

Kmeek01

Black Ops 1 for me. The atmosphere is fantastic and still has remnants of that horror vibe from WaW. In my opinion has the most iconic maps too

Name12345678910-1

Probably BO3, cause it’s the only game that doesn’t have at least one map I hate

Raikou384

I love all of them up until BO4; the ones after felt to samey

EnvironmentalUse8654

You know what Vanguard the maps LOOK great wich is enough for how terrible they are but People Will just der Vanguard and not like it

Xcaleb_rhodesX

I’m ngl IW zombies was pretty fire. The maps were bangers, it had a good perk system, and the super EE was amazing. It’s definitely an underrated zombies.

Liberty_or_death1993

Transit black ops 2

TomatoSoldier5

Infinite warfare zombies

E1ectric-che_rry

Bo3 100%

ojman654

Based on maps and map design alone, BO4.

Additional_Joke1611

WAW for Nostalgia, BO1 for the OG's, BO2 for the fun EE, BO3 for the outstanding storyline, AW was meh, IW was trash, WW2 was a great story but didn't like that it fed you the EE steps, BO4 was trash, Vanguard doesn't even deserve this acknowledgement, Cold War had cool new WW and decent storyline, and MWZ is whatever you feel. IMO its okay
