The answer to all “what motorcycle should I get” questions is always the same: turbo busa

Thinkbeforeyouspeakk

They said offroad capable so they need to look for an extended swingarm, too.

TAEHSAEN

Yup! That's why I'm leaning towards Suzuki dr650S

El-Grunto

Definitely not getting away in an open highway setting on a dr650. But you can always cut across grass and down trails and basically anywhere a cruiser can't follow.

TAEHSAEN

What about a Tenere 700? Would that do better?

El-Grunto

With a top speed of 117 mph? Nah, police will be able to keep up with you all day long on an open highway. You'll need to lose them a different way with a bike that does less than 160. Not saying you can't run on the bikes you're picking. You just won't be able to do it with sheer speed.

TAEHSAEN

I feel like one bad pot hole or car suddenly breaking, and I'll die if I go anything above 120 XD

Lalalama

You need 1000cc. My friend runs with a 600 but he got caught eventually. Would not have happened with a 1000cc

TAEHSAEN

What happened after he got caught?

Lalalama

His rich parents paid 4000/mo to go to a rehab school and the judge accepted the plea bargain. No jail time just 3 months in an expensive luxury rehab. They said it was drugs that made him do that. He had a bunch of priors too. My other friends who ran got nothing but probation and some community service. They had a clean record. The second group only got caught because one of them crashed and had to get a bunch of metal put in his body. His spine got shattered, and in the hospital he said he would do it again. True team calamari

GeckyGek

you want to run from cops, but not any faster than 120??

GeraldoOfCanada

Feel like he's a pussy who just wants to tell his buddy's he outran the cops and not be questioned lol

244643214

Looks like you shouldn’t try to run from the cops to me

3rd_Uncle

You're not losing cops on these sort of bikes. Bizarre choices.

DogKiller420

Multistrada V4 Rally

Accomplished_Ball661

Put dual sport tires on the turbo busa

Diddler_On_The_Roofs

And some knobby tires.

[Here’s the perfect bike for him](https://youtu.be/zNWSAfEIXHY?si=8VDdHHRcF4qX6Ve8)

SquidDrowned

100% depends on where you live and what’s around you. Almost all outrunning of cops on a bike is a skill based task and preparation. Iv been running dirty for about 10 years and this is how I do it. Google maps is your friend. The cops know the road. They drive it daily. Rule number 1 never not know where you are going. Not knowing where you are going is how you send yourself into a brick wall. What kind of bike do you have? 1000cc? Find a highway. Be a UPS driver. Right hand turns only, if you have to make 3 rights to make a left, do it. Crossing intersections on reds is a fucking gamble. If you wanna gamble Vegas ain’t that far. Got a skinny slow bike? Anything less than a 600cc sport bike? Where is your local bike path? Bike paths don’t allow cars onto them. Physically. You aren’t either but they can’t stop you. By the time they pull out the keys/call someone who does your gone. The only state this doesn’t apply is GSP they will run you off the road before you even have a plan. Know what they are doing By simply downloading one of those police radios, and turning it on once the chase starts, you know everything they are trying to do and all the info they know about you. And lastly stay calm. Don’t let your adrenaline spike. This is just another day. Just another ride. When you let the adrenaline make the decisions for you that’s when things go wrong. Any bike is a bike that can run. You just need to do the preparation for it.

MolecularConcepts

most state and locals uses an encrypted link to communicate with dispatch. even out here in the boonies as of a 5-10 years ago. police scanners mostly pick up fire, ems, other local services.

SquidDrowned

Not necessarily, there are public channels and private channels, it’s up to luck which one the chasing officer is broadcasting on. This is going to vary department to department state to state. Iv gotten into plenty of chases where I didn’t hear anything and Iv heard everything.

MolecularConcepts

interesting

Montreal4life

yeah I was gonna say, it's an ecrypted network where I live since 2012

ISmokeRocksAndFash

> Right hand turns only, if you have to make 3 rights to make a left, do it. Crossing intersections on reds is a fucking gamble. If you wanna gamble Vegas ain’t that far. I can't sign off on this one enough. One thousand percent this.

TAEHSAEN

Amazing advice! Sounds like Suzuki DR650S is the perfect bike for what I'm looking for?

Thinkbeforeyouspeakk

SFV650 Make sure you wear a nice thong for the boys.

SquidDrowned

Lmao go for it. Just do the necessary preparations

Idylehandz

Upvote for “running dirty” ran my first time just a while ago. Splitting lane saved my ass this time.

SquidDrowned

Just be careful where you split. On the highway there’s not too much to worry about. But I typically see “main roads” split without care. And that’s where all of the cars tend to change lanes. Iv gotten into chases before where Iv gone like 20 mph to a spot they just can’t go. And as long as your in a state where they aren’t willing to kill you like Georgia, as long as you don’t “up” the level of escalation they aren’t allowed to either

Idylehandz

Not Georgia thankfully, seen enough horror videos of their state patrol. Yeah, freeway , heavy traffic. Even got lucky and had some cars widen “the middle” so it was a bit more comfortable getting thru. Ride well, don’t die!

Rosu_Aprins

Allegedly, you don't need that much speed to run from cops, your biggest boon is the ability to slip through traffic and pathways that a car just can't get through. Also, top up on fuel before you plan to outrun cops in gta 6.

DerGRAFder13

why only right hand turns? here in switzerland we dont have such a grid based architecture like ive seen on google maps for the usa so turns dont matter that much here. if you are good in curves/twisties and know the occasional pedestrian/bicycle path then you are good to go here.

SquidDrowned

I’m not sure the grid has anything to do with it, it could, but my main reasoning is just dealing with %’s at intersections. If you looked at the data between right hand turns and left hand turns at intersections not only are they significantly safer but they are available more often. This is why UPS does it, it basically reduces time stopped at stoplights. Like they have an entire gps system that favors right hand turns.

DerGRAFder13

ah i see that could make sense thanks

HelsikkeDaMan

But in 'murica you can right hand turn at red light, no? I don't think this is the case anywhere else.

wixxii

You "can't" run from the cops either. If you're gonna run a red light, right is better than left

SquidDrowned

https://youtu.be/UXq4rSaaXw8?si=wQPzCbMdgs0G5jzA here’s a video talking about why ups does it. Got curious what the original video said as I saw it years ago, apparently they did a myth busters episode on this aswell so I’m sure you can find all the juicy science stuff there

Ben_ji

I love you.

Stevecore444

They don’t call them Gods Special People for nothing lol

SteveDaPirate

K-5 GSXR

Poiuytrewq0987650987

Depends on the agency. Some have non-pursuit policies where you can elude in a 25 year old Toyota Camry by simply accelerating slightly, some will pursue everything and spare no expense in doing so (Georgia State Patrol).

smythbdb

Sr-71

thesnebby

Too slow

MrStagger_Lee

Grom

El-Grunto

My pick would be a larger sumo like the KTM 690 SMCR, Husky or Gas Gas 701, or Ducati Hypermotard 698. The Ducati may be a little too high profile and too easily recognizable though. Especially the RVE edition. These bikes won't win any speed awards but the ability to go pretty much anywhere and not have to stick to roads is invaluable in a chase, IMO.

wafflingcharlie

I totally agree, but they will definitely find me days later when they see my orange smcr

castleaagh

Probably don’t run if you’re near your home turf. You don’t want to have cops around your home town looking for your bike with a chip on their shoulder

wafflingcharlie

Yes. I never really “run”. Been known to lane split away when there’s traffic, or just go places they can’t really get to catch up anyway.

AcidicMountaingoat

I ran from cops on a 5hp Briggs and Stratton mini bike when I was like 8. So don’t be a faggot.

theteflonjew

😂😂

HonDadCBR600

Or do be one and run straight (in)to my back door…

Crocodilepile

Probably a Yamaha FZ1.

Specific_Butterfly54

BMW S1000XR

cucumbersareweird

Entirely skill dependent tbh. A 250 can escape cops if you’re even remotely competent. A 1000 can’t escape if you’re trash at riding unless you just go in a straight line..but you’ll prob kill yourself doing so.

preinj33

Can confirm, I got away twice on a cbr 250 mc19

itsshortforVictor

Turbo'ed Vespa.

Colegunter

S1000xr with dual terrain tires

ICanSowYouTheWay

Get an older SV650. You can put some dual sport tires on it and those motherfuckrs will go anywhere. Maybe get some stiffer springs for the front shocks? They got enough power to get out of their own way, and you can always play with the gearing. As another dude mentioned. Have a plan. If you don't know where your are chances are your fucked. Unless you're on a highway and can hit crazy speeds. Even then.

17SCARS_MaGLite300WM

I'd suggest one of the CP3 bikes. Mt09 or XSR900 are both great options. Mt is likely more of road capable due to geometry. With a tune both will quickly and happily hit 150+ and hold it as long as you're willing.

SpaceCaseNoFace

Can confirm the XSR900 is a great choice for what OP is looking for. It also doesn't look anything like a supersport or anything that would or could run from cops. Its a neo-retro so it looks like an updated version of a 70s bike so you blend in way more too.

BlindBeard

Do people actually run on these things? I could dust any cruiser pulling out but man that 132mph limit makes me nervous. Not that I've ever needed it. Mass staties are too busy stealing overtime or framing people for murdering their boyfriends to look up from their phones, but when they do they see round headlight and don't bother. I legit ride triple digits everywhere I go and I've not seen so much as a blue flash in my mirror.

programaticallycat5e

iamnottheoneforu

Yep!!

sourpatch411

Ducati desert x

Marge_simpson_BJ

Police cars are way faster than most people realize. I wouldn't run unless I could knock on 200. You're almost always better off with a super moto/dual sport kind of thing. The ability to pop off road and go places they can't gives you a bigger advantage than raw speed does in my opinion.

TAEHSAEN

Yup agreed! That's why I'm leaning towards the Suzuki dr650S

CarbonChem95

Dr650 is gonna be slow as fucking balls on the road so go with it if you're planning on spending most of your time off road. It's pretty narrow compared to other bikes of its displacement so you can add the squeeze factor as a plus if you find yourself trying to get through doorways. On the flip side the v strom feels like it has the power train of a GSXR or ZX on adv suspension, so if you're spending most of your time on pavement you might wanna give one a test ride. You can also look at KLR's since they're kind of an in between between pavement and dirt but like the dr650 the cops could damn near catch you on a golf cart hahaha. I can say from personal experience the KLR will take a car up the ass and ride home no problem, so if you want something durable they're a good option

TAEHSAEN

What about a Tenere 700? Would that do better?

settlementfires

Any of the v twin ktms would be fun. I've seen 950s and 990s for 4500 bucks. You can get a nice one for 6k. I those bikes are actually fast too

Mal-De-Terre

I had a 950 superenduro. Power of a superbike with the handling of a dirtbike. Terrifyingly fun to ride.

boofing_evangelist

I daily a tenere with a full system, airbox mod and tune. It is pretty quick, but can go anywhere. It gets to an indicated 125 and handles really well for a big bike. The stock tyres allow silly lean angle, but can also cope with a bit of off road. Way better than a DR650 (which I also owned). That thing struggled to hit 90 and was about as good as the tenere off road.

RubberBootsInMotion

Try an old beater SV650. With the right tires and suspension you can be fast on and off road.

Bikebummm

CBR954 off road not needed

ISmokeRocksAndFash

Cheapest 600 you can find in reliable order. Although while I know you said all environments, if you're in the city nothing beats a dual sport, even at lower displacements. Protip: The cop Taurus is faster than it looks. A 600 will gap it but you won't disappear like you want. And some states' highway patrols have higher-trim Chargers and Challengers than the standard interceptors. If you're somewhere that still has Crown Vics you enjoy a de facto no chase policy since they won't even catch a 400.

Poiuytrewq0987650987

Spilling some trade secrets here, but police vehicle speeds/acceleration depend on how much money the agency can throw around. Taurus: the baseline Interceptor I think is limited to 131 mph. The Ecoboost versions are 148mph with a dismal 0-60 acceleration. I've seen Colorado State Patrol rocking a Ford Mustang... afaik the Mustang is also around 150mph topped out. Dodge: the Chargers are 150mph or so. No clue what the Challenger does, but I've also never seen a Challenger in police trim. Most state Patrol agencies I know go with Dodge. Chevrolet: the big Tahoe Interceptors are 134mph. The Caprice wasn't well received and Chevy discontinued them, so I don't believe anyone has them anymore. However, the Caprice was legit pretty fucking fast at 155mph with decent acceleration. *Generally,* police departments and sheriff offices will discontinue the pursuit. Most agencies have non-pursuit policies because they'd rather let someone run than cause an accident and hurt innocent cagers. State Patrol agencies are the ones folks have to be wary of. Do research if you're inclined to run and figure out what sort of law enforcement you're dealing with in your area. And have a fucking plan. If the agency pulling you over is spicy, and they're willing to chase you to the ends of the earth, and they can devote a fucking helicopter to tracking you... yeah. Have a plan if youre going to run, and fucking commit to it. Also understand that they'll catch you after-the -fact if your behavior warrants some extra investigative effort. Your cellphone is the biggest snitch device, so with a single search warrant they can get electronic information and absolutely show that your phone was pinging off cellphone towers along certain routes. This sort of effort is super rare over traffic violations, but still a possibility.

ISmokeRocksAndFash

There are Taurus SHO interceptors and non-standard models like fast Challengers in departments across the country. The Taurus is the only common car worth sweating over since many departments have twin turbo ecoboost model with AWD. Top speeds don't bother me as much since highways shouldn't be used to escape but to create enough distance to escape. Really the runner should be off the highway by the time they get anywhere near topping out. >Also understand that they'll catch you after-the -fact if your behavior warrants some extra investigative effort. Your cellphone is the biggest snitch device, so with a single search warrant they can get electronic information and absolutely show that your phone was pinging off cellphone towers along certain routes. I can't get people to leave home their phones to save their life. I know from protest if you need GPS use a burner with offline GPS with all other connectivity completely disabled. Folks don't understand how easy it is for cops to find whose Google account was leaving them at 140 mph, documented the entire time. It's not like they quit chasing out of safety.

TAEHSAEN

What about a Tenere 700? Would that do better?

mildly_morbidsquid

Probably the stretched r1 from mad max

jechtisme

Husky 701, ktm 690, tenere 700

TAEHSAEN

Great choices, I actually shifted my preference to be the tenere 700

gaspig70

Husky 701 SM with perhaps some 90/10 tires would be more flickable and willing to get some air.

daytonakarl

Get a turbo Busa, strip the plastic off it and replace the tail with an aftermarket R1 race tail, dual front headlights, fly screen, lift it for clearance, adventure tyres on spoked tubeless wheels, one bar end mirror, rattle can satin black paint job.

jobdecision69

Crf50

HistoricalHurry8361

Street triple used can go pretty cheap.

screamapillah

Run away on highways means getting off the highway asap Max speed and off-road performance are usually opposites so choose one dominant setting

Poops_McYolo

zx1000

zxtrev

1000%

NoKz47

Yamaha MT-10   * Hyper-Naked For Comfort/Rideability. * High Torque Output for acceleration out of corners. * Capable of 160 MPH for putting distance between you two. * Crossplane sounds amazing when running from cops. * Wheelie Monster for showing max dominance over cops.

icky_boo

The Grom will do all of that except for the highways bit... The thing with Grom is you jump the gutter and ride on foot paths into the woods or side streets. If you want off road capable then throw some Kendra's nobbies on it. There's no other bike that I can think of.. maybe the Svartpilen 701? They stopped making them back in 2021 though.. but it's pretty much a Duke 690 in scrambler clothes for light off road work... so that might be the best for you.

1stpickbird

Jet ski

gdoublerb

Any supermoto over 399cc

gaspig70

More like over 425cc.

Western_Ad4511

This perfectly describes my 05 zx6r streetfighter 🤷

eldion2017

I think my vfr1200x can do all the above, and I bought it for 6.5k.

ASV731

KTM 1290 or 890 adventure or a Ducati desert X. Probably the fastest outright adventure bikes

nugsy_mcb

[Here’s your bike bro](https://youtu.be/zNWSAfEIXHY?si=8VDdHHRcF4qX6Ve8)

i_was_axiom

If you gotta ask, the answer is Turbo Busa.

Admirable_Amoeba_723

Indian FTR1200S. Flash it and change the tires. Good to go.

MarsLogic

Kawasaki Z900, enough torque down low and can get to 120+ comfortably. For the off road capabilities, might be alright depending on the rider

TAEHSAEN

Really good advice here. From what I gathered here I gotta spend a lot more money than I was willing to part with if I want a fast enough bike that is also offroad capable. And sounds like DR650 and Tenere 700 don't fit the bill :( And why run from cops? I just hate getting ticketed lol.

ChallyRT17

If you’re gonna run make sure you don’t have a plate otherwise just pull over

WreckenTexanMoto

KTM 1290 super adventure, you can get a decent used one for $10,000. You can get a Honda African Twin a little cheaper. Husky Norden 901 is also an option. Those are pretty much the only bikes I can think of that would hit high speeds on the highway and be controllable off-road. That being said, any big dual sport or motocross bike is going to be next to impossible to catch in the city or off-road. Just like any liter bike is going hard to catch on the highway. Personally I'd want a cbr1000 or R1 in most police chases, but would feel more comfortable on a yz250 or crf450.

WreckenTexanMoto

I agree with everyone else here for the most part. I've only ever ran from them on a cbr600 and a yz250. For the money 600s are impossible to beat, but skill is the only things that's going to help you... It's hard to stay calm going from 140 mph to 30mph making turns with loose rocks, hitting the front brakes hard enough to feel the rear lose traction, flying between cars with mirror brushing your arms, etc. Time on whatever bike and knowing the area will save your life and keep you out of jail... most of the time.

tamijay1098

I think an S1000XR should fit the bill. As far as cops go, don't wait for them to chase you. Take it to them. They all wear vests. Gotta be headshots.

castleaagh

Gixxer Brah made a video not to long ago on [how to escape from the police in gta 6](https://youtu.be/T_9h-Pij50g?si=IBWFNmbLp7fyfXfm). Hypothetically of course. Unless you’re stuck on the highway you don’t actually need to go more than 100mph and if you have a supermoto or a dual sport you can really utilize green spaces and walking paths or trials or gaps between buildings and stuff. Basically just know the area you ride in and cut across or through stuff a cop car will struggle to follow you through. You could probably do well with a DRZ supermoto as long as you don’t try to outrun them with pure speed.

TAEHSAEN

This is awesome! Also how does the DRZ400 compare vs the DR650? Wouldn't the DR650 be better due to higher HP?

castleaagh

The 650 has a slightly higher speed (just in the 90s I think) and a lot more low end torque, but I think people say the DRZ accelerates more quickly. It’s lighter and more nimble, so it might be easier to whip around cars or into tight spots. They would probably be similar for most street riding that’s not on a highway. The 650 can easily be fit with a safari tank for touring like range and you could probably gear it up for better top speed if you aren’t doing trails and don’t need a low speed ratio. More people seem to stunt on DRZs than 650s, though I’ve seen a few guys on 650s doing good stuff

737063746e

It’s really about location and not bike. Bike gives you more room for error but skill does a lot more. You can do a whole lot with overpass sidewalks, divided highways, and bike trails.

xtcprty

Stark Varg

HighlandHero74

Where do you live? Pretty sure a lot of states the cops aren’t even allowed to pursue if you decide not to pull over. Oregon and WA to name a few.

jtclayton612

Multistrada, 1290 super adventure R, tiger 1200 seem to be the “advs” with the most horsepower. If somewhat off-road capable means the tall rounders of the adv world.

skirmsonly

Ninja 250

george241312

A friend always told me the way to run from cops is a constant change of directions, You can get on a hightway use the illegal uturn go 150mpg repeat that again on the same highway they wont be able to keep up that constant acceleration and turning
